Great tanning place, good selection of beds and packages - easy for walk-ins most of the day, or pre booking.

I started to come here over the summer and go pretty often. I am always happy with my tans and my friends and family agree they look totally natural. They last about ten days if you take care them properly. Another thing, I lost quite a bit of weight over the past two years and I'm super self conscious sometimes and the girls there always make me comfortable and def feeling like a baddie when I leave. By the way I get the spray tans and will be trying other services soon! read more

Urban Tanz is great! As a California transplant who is used to having an easy tan by simply being out all-day. I was pretty bummed about how deathly pale I'd become with no time or place to really get my share of sunlight. Urban Tanz is a terrific substitute The staff are super friendly and all the beds are spotless and the whole experience was a pleasure. read more

This place is amazing. Super quick and they know what they're talking about when making recommendations. They have the best beds / options for whatever you're looking for. Gianna is amazing and so helpful - always such a quick and easy experience. 10/10 I recommend to everyone who needs a little sun!! read more

They have a good selection of beds and lots of different lotions to choose from. You have the option of making an appointment online or walk-ins which is super convenient. I find their different packages to be fairly priced based on their location and condition of their beds. Extra points for the bowl of Starbursts! read more

I started coming here for spray tans and their body contouring services and I just absolutely love it! Very easy booking, staff is super kind and informative. Everyone appears to be well trained in what they're doing because all my spraytans have come out perfect so far..even all over and natural color. I stick with the rapid sprays. I've done their tanning beds too as I used to come for years..very affordable and the place is uber clean which is a plus bc I'm a germaphobe! Highly recommend! read more

Best tanning salon in the five boroughs, and I've tried all the big ones. I'm a three year loyal customer, and here's why: High quality beds that I can tell are well maintained Very clean Friendly and knowledgeable staff No pushy salespeople. Great packages that sell themselves Cool online booking system that cuts down on wait time and crowds Free use of sanitized towels and goggles Jolly Ranchers. Small details count, man. Also, I am a naturally snow white strawberry blonde who burns easily in the sun and I've never received a burn from a bed at Urban Tanz. I use their monthly unlimited in early summer to establish a lovely base shade that keeps me naturally golden and burn free for months with weekly maintenance trips. Definitely a city staple for me. Special shout out to the women who run the show there too. They take things seriously and always make me feel welcome. read more

I just moved back and am so surprised they remembered me. Sweetest and informative ladies working there. If you book a bed and then want a spray they have new lovely robes. They change bulbs often. My tan lines look excellent. It's worth it! Don't go to a big chain. Support local businesses read more

I'm so glad this place exists! Everyone is always extremely friendly and professional. The space is always very clean and welcoming.

Love Urban Tanz! The beds are really good. Always a great experience. Ariana and Maddie are the best!

Very disappointed. I had engagement photos on Saturday and needed a spray tan. I usually always go to sugar and bronze because they have good spray tans and even better customer service. You aren't going to get that here. I got my spray tan and it was half the session time as sugar and bronze. I had to ask the lady to actually go down to my calves because i was getting half sprays from her just standing and misting my legs. The biggest thing about spray tans is my face spray going away. I asked the technician In the beginning, If my spray tan comes off on my face, can i come back just for a quick spray that next evening. She said i would need to come before 745 on Friday (they close at 8) but it would be best to come back sat morning. I got off work early on Friday so I called. The owner said they had a microblading Session going on tonight and all day until 3 pm sat (although the lady working there originally told me they are setting up for the microblading apt for the next day, so sounds like there wasn't any current sessions happening, they just didn't want to have to re-set up). First off, who wants to get their eyebrows microbladed in an area where spray tans are conducted? That is asking for an infection. And second, have a little more customer service if you can't accommodate. Sugar and bronzed would have never told me it was ok to come in And then tell me otherwise. Sugar and bronzed also doesn't do a tattoo on the face in the same room as spray tans.... This isn't any other Friday night spray tan, these are my engagement photos so I'm very disappointed and do not recommend this place. Next time I'll be going back to sugar and bronzed. Lesson learned. read more

On a last minute search I booked Urban Tanz on Friday 24th November for my wedding the following day. Firstly the young lady helping me was SO AMAZING! She was so patient when originally I booked three tans (bridesmaids) then ended up messing her around back and fourth. She was so patient with me. Then when I arrived, she was very friendly and professional. This was my first spray tan, so really gave me so much advice - she even called me later to check how it was turning out. I did take a note of her name, because I wanted to message to say thank you, but things go so crazy over the wedding! My tan was absolutely perfect on my wedding day! I was so pleased i followed her instructions, so it was flawless! Thank you so much for your skill and talented! I'll definitely be back! Thanks, read more

Asked about how scheduling an appointment works if you buy a package since you can't call them. I was told you have to pay for a single session online and then it would be refunded to you. To break it down you pay them, to pay them again, to wait to be refunded. The prices for a single session have gone up significantly; it costs about $40 for 10 minutes for the least powerful bed. Needless to say it all feels vaguely intentional. To make matters worse, the Jersey shore left over working there with the lowbrow attitude was enough to have me happily walk around pale AF for the rest of the summer. Dear Toyota, Yes, that's funny, the sun is free. I was going to ask if you were aware of that, since you're in the market of selling it. It would make sense then to not be so wildly unpleasant, no? Listen, I watched you get haughty with everyone in your salon. Maybe you're not cut out for the service industry. Your phone lines are not available for scheduling appointments. Kindly confirm, because I don't appreciate having my words twisted. Yes, your business model is strange and feels predatory. Paying for an appointment in advance is not unheard of, I have no issue doing so. Paying a lump sum for a package and then paying again for a single session because you refuse to take apointments over the phone is intentional. You could solve this by 1.) obviously, picking the phone up (seriously, how busy are you?) 2.) Don't require people to pay to schedule an appointment (if you take walk-in's as you reminded me, than what's the difference?) 3.) Use a B2C interface that manages your customer's accounts. You're a business owner, it's your job to think of these things and I find it hard to believe no one else ever thought it was utter nonsense. Also, to be perfectly honest, you don't strike me as someone who wouldn't just abscond with $40. Yes, your prices did go up. Your beds look like they've changed from last season. If there was a cost increase because of this, I'm not mad at It. However, I was absolutely not paying anywhere near $40 last summer. I checked my emails to make sure I'm not the one making things up. Lastly, I never insulted your staff; ONLY YOU. Most of my interactions with your staff were, dare I say... pleasant. You seem to not be able to take any criticism lady. Again, why the hell are you in the service industry? P.S thanks for reminding me of the benefits of UV light. Now let me remind you that too much causes cancer, which is what you are. WALKING CANCER. read more

Urban Tanz is the ultimate place for all things tanning related! I've been to a lot of tanning salons in the city and the cleanliness and professionalism of this establishment is the best I've seen around. These girls really know how to take care of you, make you feel welcome, and guide you in the right direction to achieve the results you desire. I've been a regular weekly customer for about a year now! It's always a pleasure to come here to relax and unwind. They always have great deals as well as fun contests you can partake in. They have a nice selection of tanning lotions as well as all of my favorite sun beds. Overall me and my friends love to come here and will continue to do so as long as I'm in the neighborhood! read more

Urban Tanz is the best place to go tan, and the decor is so cute. Clean, lovely people working there, and the only place I go in NYC.

I actually prefer this place to few others places in the city. They have open sun, so you never get down time or being burned. You can always get a good deal here, which is a huge plus, when you buy a lotion you can get some free sessions. Just ask about it. People are super nice here too. Good spot read more

The best. Super clean. Friendly staff. Great bake. I wouldn't go anywhere else. There's no other.

I came here for a spray tan the day before I left for a wedding. Let me tell you-it's the best spray tan I have ever had! It lasted well over a week and I didn't have any splotches as it faded. I haven't had a spray tan in years so I was a little nervous but I couldn't have been happier with the result. Very natural looking and just the extra step I needed to make me feel beautiful. Great beds, helpful staff and always leave with a top quality tan. Definitely recommend Urban Tanz to anyone new in the area.

Great airbrush tan. They are now able to dry properly and apply baby powder to clients (Covid restrictions are now lifted) so you will be assured of a well-set tan. Will definitely go back. read more

I had bought a package of five tans before heading down to South America. The place is clean and they do have a descent range of beds. However, the way I was treated by the work staff was unacceptable. At the end of my fourth session, I applied some regular lotion to my legs after I was finished tanning. I had gotten very dry after the session and just wanted to moisturize a bit. I went to the bathroom and before heading out saw the girl with a mop huffing and puffing while mopping the floor in the room I had just left. I thought is was weird since I knew I hadn't gotten anything on the floor ( I used a small airplane carry-on size bottle of moisturizer and left it in the garbage) I quickly said "have a nice day" and she turned around and started yelling at me! She said I had gotten lotion "all over the floor" and that I was not allowed to use outside lotion. (It wasn't tanning lotion I used it was regular lotion AFTER I tanned) She then told me she would "test" the bed to see if I used it in there and that I would have to pay for damages to the tanning bulbs. I was so taken back. I was so embarrassed and didn't even want to return for my last session. Later in the week I called in advance to see who was working and went when she wasn't there. When I signed in the lady told me there was a note next to my name saying something to the extent "used outside lotion" implying to "check" me. I will NEVER come back here after being made to feel this way over nothing. I am a business owner myself with a very prominent following and I would never treat a client this way. read more

Claudia is great with spray tans- they're super thorough, make sure that every area is perfect & always willing to do a touch up. Also really accommodating with appointment times and super friendly. If you need a spray tan in Williamsburg this is definitely a great choice! read more

My spray came out fine but came in originally thinking my tan would be $30-35 dollars. The woman asked me if I wanted to do a 30 minute express tan and I agreed but she did not express to me the tan alone is $90 without tax and tup. A bit disappointed at the lack of transparency here. Sad that I will not be giving them my business again. read more
