I immediately went straight for the Ghibli Studio stuff in the back of course to see what kind of Totoro items they may have. It's not the biggest and most spacious but very decently sized place. Found two super adorable Totoro insulated lunch bags so of course I've to get them, I mean they're just too cute not to get them anyway. The total rounds up to be close to $38. They accept both credit/debit card and cash as forms of payment. Staff is friendly and fast service since there's never a line. Stuff can get pricey depending on what you wanna buy. However, I think their prices are actually pretty reasonable and way cheaper compared to other websites and Amazon in my most honest opinion. I always want to stop by this place wherever I'm around East Village/St. Marks Place.

Items were well-organized, and the place is super bright with tons of lighting. We didn't really see any staff members and there were no greeting or assistance when we walked in. +Japanese cosmetic store +non-existent staff

They have 80% alcohol, which is much higher than your standard sanitizers here in the United States. She offers so many different scents that by the time you smell them all, they kind of blend into one, but I love the variety and I particularly loved the tobacco smelling one (I'm a big tobacco scent fan) and the rainforest. She offers 5 packs with different scents which is nice, or bigger bottles of just 1. She also offers a ton of hand creams. This is a fairly new business and I'm excited to see them! Welcome to the neighborhood.

I love the olive oil and the macadamia liquid soaps, shampoos and shower gels. II found that the olive oil shower gels an excellent product that leaves the skin moisturized. Bought a good quality lotion. Packaging is lovely. Definitely makes great gifts. Shopkeeper Yeliz is helpful, spirited and informative about her products. They have recently added a new line of hand and body sprays. Excellent product with a genuine lemon scent. Just the right level. Not overpowering.  I normally do not normally take to scents. It is a real pick me up. And it is antibacterial.  Small unobtrusive size fits in pocket, purse or outside pocket of a backpack.

Before I moved out of Brooklyn, I used to visit Ebisu almost every other week. Partly because it's right next to my primary care doctor and pharmacy, but mostly because it has an extensive selection of japanese snacks and homegoods! Every time it feels like a treasure hunt, as they often carry unique snacks and items I've never seen elsewhere, even in larger Asian markets. Most things here are often a dollar cheaper than big Asian markets. They even gave me a gift pack FOR FREE as I spent over $30. Highlights of my finds: *Kewpie 80% calorie cut mayo - I've been searching for these for the longest time. It is constantly out of stock at H Mart and Sunrise Mart. So excited to score them here! Only 20 cal per serving and tastes exactly the same as the regular one. *Chiikawa blind boxes and keychains - they sell some japan exclusive ones here! I love collecting Chiikawa keychains. *Viral fruit shaped ice cream - sell in box/individually. *Japanese special Twinings tea bags - strawberry & blueberry, peach & orange, raspberry & lemon. *JP and KR beauty - they sell Romand, Dasique, 3CE, Canmake, Kate, and more. I got a romand lip balm for only $9.99. *Claw machines, blind boxes and anime figures on the second floor!

I LOVE bringing a sample size bottle to try things before i commit to a big bottle. I literally reached into my laundromat recycling for an empty tide bottle, rinsed it out, and fill it over and over. The owners also inspired me to join my neighborhood buy nothing group! If you need some guidance for your own way of life, or someone else's, this is the PERFECT spot to try and sample things. I bought some lotion from them, and a while later (a month or so), my wife noticed black mold growing on the top. Pretty horrifying, because I hadn't noticed, and I'd been putting it on my face! Yuck. I brought it back, to tell them about it, not to ask for my money back, which I made clear. I just thought they would want to know. The salesperson called the manager to come over, who was excessively argumentative about it. "Let me explain something to you about our products," he said. "Our products do NOT grow mold." It was a little like the old, "who are you going to believe?" joke, since mold was growing right on top of the lotion, and we could both see it. And he just wouldn't stop. I kept telling him, I don't want to discuss this, I just thought they would want to know, I was just trying to be a good samaritan for one of my favorite stores. And he kept arguing. "Mold is caused primarily by moisture," he said at one point, as though he thought I was very stupid. Finally I said, "I'm going to ask you to stop talking." And he wouldn't! So I had to say it again. This all bothers me for two reasons. First, I thought the guy was defensive and insulting. Why disbelieve me? Did he think I brought some kind of fake moldy lotion to his store because ... why? He should have just thanked me for letting him know. Second, I thought they SHOULD care that their lotion grows mold! So the manager doesn't care about quality control, and he has an attitude problem. I don't feel that I can trust their products anymore, and unfortunately I cannot go back. It's too bad, because I used to love this store.
