I've only ever taken my Indian clothes to her but I would also trust her with my western wear! She's great at giving unique solutions to fixing pieces and can also make your vision come to life. But once I walked inside I knew I'd come to the right place: racks upon racks filled with all sorts of saris and traditional gowns. The owner, Gita, was wonderful, she helped point me in the right direction and gave me advice on what to wear: style, color, how to fix my hair, jewelry to wear, etc. I was able to try on several different outfits, most ranging between $99-110 (that's the lowest quote she could give me on the gowns, there were more expensive options though, and the sari's start around $35). My only complaint is that the dresses are as they come, you can have sleeves added if there is extra fabric that comes with the dress (I was quoted $7 for both sleeves which includes a tucking in of the bodice as well). But if the dress does fit or doesn't fit, that's the risk you run. My gown, a beautiful long navy blue dress with silver stitching across the bodice, cost $99+tax. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Roopkala and would return in the future for a traditional Indian dress.
