She told them she gets naked in bed with him and sucks on his....she then realized what she did wrong and told all the kids to keep it a secret from their parents. I've been told this counselor has been removed, but 1) why is a 14 year old in charge of 8-13 year olds 2) why isn't there a more robust training 3) what is the vetting process before hiring someone? 4) why are 8 year olds in the same group as 13 year olds? Don't ever send your kids here. My daughter's innocence was stripped away in a day.

I recently had a terrible experience at this facility with my daughter. After reading similar…read morereviews, I realize this was not an isolated incident. My daughter has attended several classes here, and she has complained to me about the constant switching of coaches, which has made her feel uncomfortable. At her age, she wants to have some familiarity with her coach and build a relationship with them. Completely understandable. The coaches appear to be young, with some being attentive while others seem disengaged, even using their phones during her class. This is understandable to some degree with teenage coaches, but the lack of proper management is alarming. Initially, I wasn't sure who the manager was, and when I asked to speak to one, I was told she was unavailable, handling something in the office. I politely waited, but after about 20 minutes, she never came out, so I had to leave. I was given the manager's name, Charisse, but she appeared to be laughing and joking with others while I was waiting, making no effort to address my concerns and come out to speak with me. The worst and most unprofessional part was during my next (and last) visit, when I made a point to speak with the manager, Charisse. She demanded I speak with her outside, for reasons unknown (maybe to avoid being in front of other parents). She was incredibly rude and unprofessional, refusing to listen to the concerns my daughter had the courage to bring up. Instead, she mocked me and belittled my daughter's skillset, claiming that if she didn't like the coaching changes, she should look elsewhere because they didn't need our business. I was shocked by this situation. I strongly urge all parents to reconsider entrusting their children to this poorly managed establishment. As Charisse advised, please look elsewhere - this organization does not need YOUR business. (This happened a while ago but held off on posting a review in hopes of improvement.) I also know of a ton of families who have switched gyms for similar situations. Management needs to address the unprofessionalism of this manager and begin to have a more routine coaching schedule for the gymnasts to feel comfortable.

The location--Fitzgerald Marine Reserve and the neighboring forest--is spectacular, and I am constantly being surprised at the random nature knowledge she casually spits out. They visit the tidepools whenever the tides allow, make secret hideouts in the trees, make dams in the sand, etc. I wish I could go to forest school!

Also, I am a Teacher (at a different elementary school), so my standards are quite high ;-) While working at Serendipity, I was able to get to know administration and staff on a personal basis. I got a behind the scenes view. The truth is that this school is as great as it appears to be. The teachers genuinely care about their students and are extremely talented. Meaghan, the Head of the School, is down-to-earth and compassionate. She deeply cares about the families and staff she serves. My son began Serendipity in TK. He wasn't a cookie cutter child by any means. In fact, he was diagnosed with ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder during his first year here. When I communicated this to the school, the administration was very supportive and worked with us to make his school year a positive one. This year my son is in Kindergarten and is thriving. His teacher, Ms. Kim, has embraced his many quirks (he loves to sing all day long..as a teacher myself I feel for her!). He has learned invaluable skills such as self regulation, perseverance, communication and self expression. My formerly shy child, has become an outgoing little person who is confident in who he is and isn't afraid to be himself. When you join this gem of a school, you become part of a family. Staff are let go with little to no warning, with no regard for the relationships they've built with the kids. It's heartbreaking to watch children lose coaches they trust because management doesn't seem to value consistency or the people who actually make the program enjoyable. From what I experienced, management also allows personal drama to affect the workplace, creating an unprofessional environment that ultimately impacts both employees and families. It's also obvious where the gym's priorities are. The recreational program feels like an afterthought, while nearly all of the attention and resources go toward the competitive team. Families paying for recreational classes deserve the same level of care and investment. Many of the recreational coaches are very young and often lack the experience, training, or support needed to effectively teach classes. Parents are paying for quality instruction, and unfortunately that's not what they're consistently getting. Overall, this gym has poor management, high staff turnover, and little concern for the employees or the families who support the business. After seeing how people are treated, I won't be giving Accel Gymnastics another dollar, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a positive, stable environment for their child.
