I have a husband and children with very difficult feet to fit (super narrow) so after visiting several different shoe stores in the area, we ended up at Globe Shoes. The store is big and tidy with a large selection of what I would call functional, rather than fashionable shoes. The first thing that struck me was the large number of employees, probably 10, with no customers to serve. It's unusual to see 1/2 a dozen grown men standing around with their hands in their pockets waiting to serve. We requested one for each of us to get things going quickly. Both my husband and my son received efficient help and bought one pair each. As we were visiting from abroad and rushing around to get things done, I didn't focus on anything but the task at hand and gratefully left the store, mission accomplished. Before my husband and son left the country, my 12-year old decided he needed a dressier shoe to go with his school uniform and asked me to return his. I didn't think twice and brought the shoes back to Globe only to be told that they never give refunds unless the shoes were a gift and not tried on. They pointed to the policy on the receipt and on a big sign behind the counter. I had never looked up and hadn't even thought to look at the receipt and no one had verbally mentioned the policy. My fault for not paying attention HOWEVER, my feelings are this: 1) I live in the UK and will find it difficult to use the $109.99 credit; 2) it would not have hurt the store to make an exception; 3) I don't think it is a policy that fits in with current commercial practices; and 4) maybe this is why Globe was virtually empty on the two occasions I was in the store, with an over abundance of employees and no more than 1 or 2 customers each time. Once I manage to clear this credit, I would never willingly shop in Globe Shoes again, simply because of this no refund policy. I don't think a store can survive without flexibility in its customer service, especially now with so much online competition. We went over to Globe shoes, mid evening on tuesday to find my fiance shoes for our upcoming wedding. We went there because initially we went to other shoe stores and department stores and he couldn't find anything that was going to be stylish, classy and at the same time comfortable. More stores need wide width selections. We walk in because he seen a particular shoe on their website earlier that day and liked it. The young man that worked there walked up greeted us and told us to let him know anything we needed and wanted. He found the shoe he had seen online and asked the young man for the sizes he wanted to see he gladly obliged. Trully an old school shoe store he assisted in slipping on the shoe, tied it perfectly, asked the right questions and more importantly as soon as my fiance got up to walk around saw an imperfection in the shoe and was outright honest and said " I can't sell you that there is a damage, but I can order them for you but it would be 3-7 business days". The look on my face must have given me away, he asked was it an issue and we told him that we fly out next saturday for our destination wedding. He said it was the last shoe and honestly did and wasn't sure we would get it on time. He excuses himself, we both assume he is going to help someone else, which he did, but after a few minutes, while we were looking for another possible shoe to chose. He came out and with another box containing the shoes my fiance wanted in the same size he needed!! What an extremely sociable and awesome sales guy he was. (I wish I could recall his name) and then when we go to check out the two ladies behind the counter to ring us up were pure comedy! We will definitely be returning to get more shoes and winter boots. It was my first time there, he'd been there several times before, but in the past he had stated he and my now deceased in laws were treated poorly. So on this shopping trip, Globe shoes was completely redeemed!!! read more

Not a good experience. The salesmen at this store stand with their arms crossed, staring at you like you're going to pocket the shoes and walk off. Both salesmen who approached me had a very arrogant attitude and talked to me like I was an idiot rather than a customer they were helping. I finally just walked out not buying anything.... and won't be going back. read more

Extremely poor customer service as not ONE out of EIGHT associates said hello or asked if they could help. It's simple, but instead they stare at you while you walk around and/or talk to each other. WEIRD store that I will not return to & definitely not recommend to anyone else. read more

You might want to think twice before purchasing shoes from this Globe Shoes and WASTING YOUR MONEY! NO CASH REFUNDS! I bought a pair of boots that I wasn't too sure about, took them home to try them on with different things and then decided that they just didn't fit or look right. I looked at the receipt to see how long I had to return them and was sick to my stomach when I saw NO CASH REFUNDS! The cashier DID NOT mention one thing about this. I called to see if there was anything they could do about giving me my $ back and spoke to the manager who was VERY rude. Well, looks like my $120.00 just went out the window, as I do not EVER shop in that store, as they are not my type of shoes.I ended up in there because I was with someone else who shops there. I happen to see these boots and thought they would work out. With the way the economy is.... who has a NO REFUNDS policy!? I cannot post this unless I give it at least a star one star. Don't want to because of their attitude and rudeness to customers. When I walked in the store, I walked up to the salesman that sold me all shoes he sold me. He said, "You have to talk to the mgr." I asked where he was, and the reply was, "He's around". Such a rude reply, how about, "I will get him for you?" I purchased 3 pairs of shoes from them 6 weeks ago. The elastic on the sling back 1' shoe's strap falls off of my foot., because it had popped away from the fabric. Took shoes back to ask if they could be sent to mfg. for repair, I certainly would have been willing to pay for the repair. Up came the mgr. "What's the problem?" No hello, may I help you, just a rudely asked question! Told by mgr., they haven't carried that shoe since last year. Which is impossible, because I purchased them, as I said, 6 weeks ago!! Mgr. told me what happened was my fault, I didn't open the sling back strap to take the shoes off and on. Never in my life have I been told or needed to do that with a sling back shoe! In fact, one of the other pair I purchased that same day, is also a slingback shoe, same elastic, different brand, and no problem with them. I mentioned if that was the case, the salesman never mentioned it to me. Mgr again told me my fault and again said, they did not have that shoe for sale this year. He in essence, called me a liar. So much for the phrase, "The customer is always right". He proceeded to tell me, he needed the sales slip (I got that one) and it would take at least 3 weeks to obtain a reply from the manufacturer, after all, I am not the only person the company speaks to about their shoes. (What that meant, I do not know). I asked if there was a possibility he might be able to call the mfg. and ask if the repair could be done. Same reply. And now, it could take 4 weeks. While this was happening two women behind me trying on shoes, stopped what they were doing and we listening to the mgr. give his "spiel" to me. I have never been treated so rudely by a manager of a store. Or for that matter, a salesperson. I wonder if they ever have repeat customers? The salesmen stand around with their arms folded and wait for you to come up to them and ask what you would like. No greeting, not friendly, and not too helpful. It is a sad commentary, in this horrendous economy, or at any time, a customer would be spoken to that way. It was as if I owed them something. They would do me a favor and get a pair of shoes for me to try on. I will never enter that store again, and if I am asked by anyone where to find widewidth shoes, I will definitely tell them NOT to go to Globe Shoes. A sad commentary.
