The young man that worked with us (I didn't get his name) was patient and super knowledgeable. He bought out about 5 pairs of sneakers each for my husband and I to try on. We went on a Saturday at just the right time as it got super crowded right after we arrived. There is metered street parking right out front and some really cool shops on the same block. Hence,I spent every day after school and all day Saturday in dance school at every class they offered...This went on until I was 17 and living on my own where I continued to dance ballet and tap at Phil Black Studio in NYC. I have been fortunate enough to have danced professionally in several companies.Over the years and across the US,there is a prevailing prejudice against those who do not fit the prima ballerina ideal when it comes to buying gear like toe shoes and accessories as simple as ballet pink tights. Then it was looked into, I was placed on hold and immediately whole on hold, a tracking number was created and I was told "this shipped out today" which is a total lie due to my ability to see tracking, and that shipping label was created while on IG asking about my order. I told them to please cancel, that's super shady to do. They kept saying "it shipped, it shipped" checked for two days, tracking number was invalid, nothing ever left them to come to me total lies. Avoid this store and on 1 dancewear unless you like being swindled. Horrible customer service, non working customer service email addresses for both stores, create shipping labels upon asking for an update, and nothing ever shipped. DO NOT BUY ONLINE!!!!! They arrived and were incredibly small (even when purchasing them in a larger size as the site directed me to). So, I sent them back for an exchange. I received an email (no reasoning either) stating that I was being refunded for LESS than the amount of the shoes and shipping combined. They didn't attempt to contact me at all. When I called, they stated that they had none of the shoes left in any color in the size I had asked for. Why was it so hard for them to write that in the email? (bye bye star #1) So, I went online to see what they had that would be comparable. They had the exact same shoe in a fabric instead of leather. Why didn't the salesperson suggest this to me on the phone? Did they give a cuss about making a sale? No! (bye bye star #2) So, I call to ask them to simply exchange the shoe I returned for that one (which they had in the size I needed). They said they would, and the gentleman on the phone also said that he would refund me the shipping charge back to my account because it was an exchange. This NEVER HAPPENED. (bye bye star #3) This is when it got ugly. It was now a full week later, and I still had not received the shoes. They didn't send me any tracking information at all. When I called to tell them that the shoes were useless to me by now, they told me that there was nothing they could do about the missing shoes because they had been signed for. "I didn't sign for them, my delivery man didn't sign for them.. where the cuss were these shoes? And, what the hell do you mean, there's nothing you can do about them? Don't you have insurance?" When I purchased them I was told "guarnatee for life not to get wet or stain" I was so excited, and we were in the midst of a horrific snow storm, I wore them out of the store -- left the box behind! While wearing them, I felt the top of my foot get a bit wet, but nothing earth-shattering, however the next day they were stained. I called the store and the young lady Christina was most understanding and helpful. My husband brought the boots to the store and without hesitation, my credit card was fully refunded.
