Yes I could have ordered on- line but being in the store allowed her to use the fitting rooms to get a perfect fit. Good selection. Well organized store. I brought my K360's in to have taps put on. The manager Katie measured my shoes and sold me a pair of Size 1 taps which turned out to be too small! But it was too late, once I realized they were too small she told me store policy denotes that we can't exchange taps. What kinda trash business practice is that? It would be one thing if I had chosen the taps myself, but SHE measured incorrectly and I was stuck forking out another $40 to get taps that fit the width of the shoe. I hadn't been in that store for 10 years and it'll be the last time I go there. read more

If I could I would rate CAPEZIO = 0 If you are hoping to get quality shoes delivered or shipped to you, DO NOT ORDER YOUR SHOES FROM CAPEZIO. I am Latin dancer, waiting to get dance shoes for practice, and so far this has been the biggest wait of my life. What a waste of time! I placed an order from Capezio over 2 months ago, on August 30th 2020, and so far NOTHING has been done. I have not received my shoes, I have called a number of times, and finally today a lady in the Capezio office told me that they are experiencing delays, but my order should arrive in 2 weeks "if everything goes well"... I asked for a refund, only to be told they are also experiencing issues with their refund system and can't add my new card details to process my refund, but will call back later... I am going to wait a life time for something to be done form this company? I have been offered today to wait another 2 weeks for a final delivery, but a 3 month wait is DEFINITELY NOT WORTH YOUR shoes. Many other companies out there who are willing to deliver good quality dance shoes in a timely manner. We were in New York on vacation. My son is a dancer and we were excited to visit the flagship store to have great options for male dancers. The male dancer section was smaller than any other dance store I've been to. We explored the store and stood in the men's wear for 10 minutes without a single employee to even address us even though there were two behind the counter when we entered and only two other customers in the store. read more

They had the item I wanted but the staff was very reluctant to help customers and seemed to care more about resenting each other for not helping customers than actually helping anybody. It was a bizarre experience, but I got the shoes I wanted. read more

Yup I love to dance!! I've mucked up dance shoes since I was in my primary years. I still do so now at the tender age of none of your business..hence why I came to Capezio. I usually order shoes offline for my salsa class and am very happy doing it that way..however I broke my heel and needed a shoe for class that nite and couldn't find my other dance heels. Went here and yeah it's THE dance store...w/ ballerina twirling and jumping to see if the shoe is right. However the sales woman was just as nice to me "the hobby dancer" as she was to them. Horrible experience and rude workers including management! We are from Texas my little girl wanted to get a unique leotard and shirt that will have her remembering her time in NYC. The selection was not that great. Seems like they haven't stocked in quite awhile. When we went to get shoes I asked the worker if she could help me fit my daughter, her response was "She's whatever size her shoe is." And she walked away. I asked another worker how much the earrings were since they were not priced, she ignored me. I asked another worker which was the manager what size a small was? What size would a 4-6 child be and he remarked back at me with all these unnecessary sizes. He told me she would be a medium which is not true. Here is some advice, post the sizes so that people don't have to ask you! After I told them they had horrible customer service the manager began to argue with me. I still made my purchase because it is a unique store that we don't have in our home town. However, if you are going in wanting assistance you won't receive it. Capezio definitely needs new management and new staff! read more

I thought it was going to be a huge selection of leotards, and there was nothing more that any other dance store. We paid when they were about to close and the employees, who were helpful and nice when we got there, were such in a hurry to go that they ended up being very rude to all the costumers. What a shame, the whole experience could have been great for my daughter but we ended up feeling like if we were such a pain for the employees that wanted to go home. read more

We placed an order with one the Capezio representatives at my daughters Ballet school, we paid for the product and the representative Yolaine said she would deliver the product to my daughter's ballet conservatory. It's been 5 weeks and my product has not come. I called Capezio Flag Ship store, they took down my info and said the order takes 2-3 weeks to deliver. Again it's been 5 weeks. I have my information to the flag ship store 2x and have yet to receive a call back. I paid for my product and never received it. This is an outstanding issue that has not bee resolved. Serious dancer?! What is Susan S. saying! Glad I'm here to review! So today, I went to Capezio and as soon as I walked in I was taken aback by all the cool dance wear on the racks. A store girl came up to me as soon as I walked in and asked if she could help. "Umm...do you have leotards and tights?" I asked like the idiot who stepped into the grocery store just to ask where one could find tomatoes in the neighborhood. She laughed and said, "Sure, what kind?" I shrugged and answered, "I don't know". She laughed again. "We got black, pink, white, what's your size?" she asked again. Hmm, a good question to ponder. I shrugged again, and asked her what she thought. Again, the girl laughed a hearty laugh. By then I started feeling pretty good, too, always glad to be bringing such a jolly mood into quiet places. She eyed me up and down. "Small...maybe medium". And then we moved on to the tights--another tough subject for a clueless non-dancer like me. After more laughs and jolly chatter, she handed me a pair of black tights. "No trying on tights," she reminded me as she unlocked the door to a fitting room. Armed with five leotards and two pairs of tights, I walked into the fitting room, ready for my first experience as a dancer. I tried on the first leotard--one of those soft pink ones remindful of a graceful ballerina. But as I scrambled to squeeze into the tiny thing, I felt anything but graceful--not even close. And when I finally had it on, the mirror confirmed that there was no ballerina. Not in that room! After a bunch of tryons and finally finding the right size and choosing black that matches best the lovely non-ballerina belly, I was ready to get out of there. I was rounding up my stuff, when suddenly, I remembered the tights. I eyed them sitting on the corner of the fitting room stall...sitting all square and lovely and quiet and tightly packed into a tiny flat little box. A sly smile washed over my face and all the peaceful expression of ballet dancers was gone in an instant. In a minute's time I was wearing tights, small/medium tights that still felt so dam tight around the waist. They don't kid about dancers in those movies with anorexic chicks and girls stressing over consuming two calories. But I wasn't worried. I figured a few burgers and beers later, I'd expand them for sure and by morning, when the belly would be back in its place, the tights would still be expanded. Ah, one of the few moments when human triumphs over manmade materials. Oh, the glory I felt in that fitting room! Pumped with glory-like feelings, I was then really ready to leave. I closed the door behind me and walked up to the cash register. Ten minutes of waiting later, a lady came over and rang me up. 36 bucks?! Wha?! For just two things? Fine. They say it pays to be a dancer, wasn't seeing that right then. But they also say you're not supposed to see it then anyways. You're only supposed to see it when you actually do squeeze into the leotard, and feel the tights tighten around your waist for at least an hour. They say you feel it when you convert all your creative emotion into human expression and...well, when all your sweat drenches the damn overpaid things after the first lesson and you have to remember to do laundry before your overpaid 10-lesson card expires and you lose more money. But of course, that journey hasn't started yet. That's tomorrow. For now, all I have of dance experience are my first Capezio memories--oh, the jolly attendees, the trickery of the tights, the glory of mankind! So, you see, you don't have to be a dancer to make it here. You don't have to know the shag, and you don't have to get on painful pointe. But you do have to be willing. You have to be patient with people, honest with the mirror; you have to be tough and willing to pull through the hardships. Because it doesn't take skill to feel like a dancer.
