Was craving for Reuben sandwich and looked up for nearby and this place popped up. The Bristol is in an interesting small shopping strip and small parking lot. The place stood out with all the window decor. Inside was quite nice with plenty of regular and high tables and TVs on the wall. The displace counter displaced all the meats they have and with good size menu with plenty of varies choices. Was also recommended by the owner of their well known Reuben so I got that with a pin of beer for lunch. Took awhile but once it out, the smells the presentation was very well presented. But once picked up, the melted swiss with sauerkraut and russian dressing was dripping of the toasted marble rye bread. Abit struggled but managed to get them all back into the breads. The tasted was tasty and well combined together. The bread was toasted so when bite into it, abit crunchy outside so well done. The beer is very nice and refreshing. Overall, good lunch, good sandwich and good beer and nicely serviced.

Best Roast Beef Sandwich! I ordered one all the time and enjoy each time. The Roast Beef is made in house. Perfect amount of seasoning and far from salty! Came in today to pick up sausages (Brats and Bats), potato salad, red cabbage and sauerkraut for 4th BBQ. Their salads are excellent. They have four potato salads to choose from and all are great. Also picked up some German Mustard and a few beers. Excellent selection of Beers not to mention three on tap for dine in enjoyment. Staff is friendly and great, especially the owner.

If you want by far the best sandwiches and meats this is the place to be coming to all the time, and here's why.... No matter what you order this place is just phenomenal and everything is great about it. I used to come here over five years ago when I lived in Newport and now that I moved back I will definitely be coming here a lot more often. I walked in today and met the owner Sean. Extremely cool guy and clearly someone who really understands great food. We started talking and he told me the reason he even bought the place was because the first time he ever came here he ordered the roast beef and was so impressed he ended up buying the restaurant. After hearing that I had to try it! The roast beef sandwich comes with lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard and mayo with your choice of cheese and bread. The meat is piled high and is super tender and moist, and everything tastes fresh. Simple and done right and that's exactly why it works. Next was the Reuben. Corned beef with melted Swiss, sauerkraut and Russian dressing on toasted marble rye. This one is loaded and perfectly balanced. Warm, melty and full of flavor with the bread toasted just enough to hold it together. Honestly one of the best Reubens I've had. Then there's the hot German potato salad. Warm potatoes with a vinegar bite that gives it a really distinct flavor and it was amazing alongside the sandwiches. I love when owners are passionate about their places. Sean is a great guy and I can't wait to come back and try something different or just go for the Reuben again because it really was that good!

What a great place! Had the best Reuben in the OC with tasty beers and a laidback, welcoming vibe. I highly recommend!

The Big Schnitzel Sandwich with a few bites taken out already

Stumbled across great reviews on Google and Yelp and decided to try it out. One of the Best decisions we made about food this entire trip. The guys were very helpful on helping us decide what to try. We were torn between the Reuben (which looked delicious), the sausage sampler. Since my hubby and I were sharing they suggested the Big Schnitzel Sandwich. When it came out we were shocked how big it was. It looked amazing and after eating it - it was amazing! The schnitzel was cooked perfectly - moist on the inside- the bread was tasty and all the condiments they put on it were fantastic. If we are ever back in this area, will definitely be back. They are also very friendly and enjoyed the time chatting with them.

In a time where McDonald's meals are 17 bucks, mediocre restaurants for 25 bucks a plate and dishes that lack any substance or depth of flavor... there's globe deli. 9 bucks for a tall mug of imported German beer, hand crafted sandwiches that will keep you coming back for less than a meal at mcdeez. This place is a no brainer

Where has Globe Deli been hiding all these years?? How is it so hidden but in plain sight?! It's such a bros sandwich joint that sort of feels like a club you just want to be apart of. Every one who walked in seemed to be a regular at. Service isn't off the charts but it feels like that's just the vibe and I'm totally cool with it. The dry sense of humor sort of humors me and as long as the sandwiches are not dry I'll take the dry joke any day.

    Selections of high end meats!

Hello, is the store still open? We stopped by for the past three days and the doors are locked. 😔 Thank you.

Yes they are still open. I stopped there yesterday for a delicious sandwich. I only noticed that they close at 5pm. I think they're closed on the weekends

This store is similar to the SB store as how clean it is and how much variety of proteins that you can try. They crazy item I found was a bag of frozen chicken hearts. HA! I like how they have a variety of beef, steaks, chicken, turkey, seafood, pork, and ground meat. Make me want to learn to cook more foods! They also carry exotic meats such as wild boar, kangaroo, yak, bison, duck, alligator, ostrich, quail, and one thing I found most interesting was rabbit and pork sausage mixture. One day I will try these exotic flavors. Moving on to dessert, I got their cheesecake, mini beigneits with mixed berries, and lava cakes. All quite good and easy to prepare for a quick party or small gathering.

One of the Worst First Impressions I've Had at a Restaurant…read more I recently moved to Newport Beach and came across Bear Flag Fish Co. while shopping. It was my first time there, and unfortunately, it will probably be my last. I ordered a sushi lobster roll that was around $35. The menu did not clearly disclose the ingredients, and nobody explained to me what was included in the roll. When it arrived, it was covered in a very heavy amount of mayonnaise and other sauces mixed together. Because I have allergies to certain ingredients, I politely asked the waiter if they could take it back and prepare one without the sauces. The waiter was actually very polite and handled the request professionally. I had no issue with him whatsoever. Then JUAN, THE MANAGER, came over. Instead of trying to understand the situation or simply resolving the issue, he questioned why I would return an expensive item after it had already been prepared. I explained very clearly that the ingredients had not been disclosed to me and that I had an allergy, which was the reason I needed it prepared differently. His response was extremely unprofessional. Rather than showing concern about a customer's allergy or acknowledging that the ingredients could have been explained more clearly, he basically told me that the issue with the ingredients was not his business. Seriously? A customer comes into your restaurant for the first time, spends money on a $35 roll, explains that they have a food allergy, and this is how the manager chooses to handle the situation? Mistakes happen. Restaurants get orders wrong. That isn't what bothered me. The way management treated me after I politely explained the problem is what bothered me. For a restaurant charging premium prices, I expect premium-level customer service and professionalism. Instead, I left feeling like my concerns were an inconvenience. JUAN, as the manager, should understand that customer service is part of his job. If a customer has an allergy concern, the appropriate response should be to listen, clarify the ingredients, and find a reasonable solution--not argue with the customer about the cost of the food. The waiter was courteous and tried to help, so I want to give him credit for that. Unfortunately, the manager's behavior completely overshadowed the rest of the experience. First impression: extremely disappointing. If you're going to charge around $35 for a roll, customers should be able to expect clear communication about what's in their food and professional treatment when they raise a legitimate allergy concern. I came in as a new customer who was simply looking for a good place to eat in my new neighborhood. Instead, I walked away wondering how a restaurant with these prices can have management that handles customers this way.
