To be seated you'll check in with the host and then be shown to your table. You'll either be seated on the first/second level or on the second level rooftop. I highly recommend a reservation as we still ended up waiting for our table even with a reservation. For drinks, I started with the Mezcal old fashioned and later ordered the she was a fairy (with sea foam). Overall the drinks were excellent and perfectly balanced. For appetizers, we ordered the "Super Fancy" Devil Eggs, Chirashi, Ceviche, Octopus Al Pastor, Shorty Pan, Butter Beans, and the Ay Papa. Each appetizer had a great presentation and they were all excellent. I really enjoyed the Chirashi as you could essentially make your own sushi with the seaweed on the side and just the overall flavors were so good. For entrees, we ordered the Lamb & Mole and the Carne Asada. Again, the presentation was excellent and both entrees were excellent. The carne asada was well seasoned and in an extremely tasty sauce. The Lamb & Mole you could tell the Mole had several flavors within it and really enhanced the dish. Also the Lamb cut like butter and was so good! For dessert we ordered the Churro Clouds, Capirotada, and I believe the Crepe Cake. Great presentation and by far the churro clouds were my favorite. They call your number when it's ready. Food took maybe 10 minutes to receive, so we browsed the market area. It's not a huge selection, but very traditional-- nice seeing so many labels in Arabic, and along with standards (e.g., canned fava beans for Ful Medames), they also had things like frozen chopped mulukhiyah leaves-- that's definitely a rarer sight. Lots of good spices too. The food was EXCELLENT. The lamb was juicy and perfect (unlike what another Yelp review said), the tzatziki sauce was delicious, and the baba ghanouj was perfectly cooked and textured. I had a small bite of the falafel, and it was indeed one of the best I've had in the US. Price was fair, too-- the sandwiches are all under $10 before tax and tip, and making it a combo with side and drink cost just something like $2.50. And service was friendly-- although they called out numbers, they did walk out with the food to try to find and bring you your dishes. Excellent selection of Arab / Middle Eastern / Mediterranean / Asian goods. They have a great variety of both the standard staples, such as chick peas, bread, seasonings, yogurts, cheeses, frozen goods, and other raw or prepared ingredients, but also have more nuanced items you might not have seen in a long time had you grown up elsewhere and moved to the US. I don't have to go and order things online anymore. Additionally they have a butcher that has fresh meats that are also halal if you're Muslim. I haven't ever had their meats, and am not Muslim, but I know where to go if I need lamb or goat on special occasions. They don't really have produce beyond some shelf stable items, but that excluded, it's pretty much an oasis. Finally, the store is kept clean, well stocked, and organized. I've never been in there with items I need missing. They recently did a facelift on the front of the store and it looks awesome, very modern and inviting. The owners and their sons are super friendly, extremely kind, even offering to special order things I ask about, and are always in a helpful / cheerful mood! Would HIGHLY recommend stopping in to anyone looking for things they need, or just wanting to see what a Middle Eastern store looks like!
