I heard from the dealer the next day. Carlos knew I had a lot of questions, so he sat in the van to call me back and answer everything about the Sedona in real time. He arranged a talk with warranty when I had questions. He let me have time to think about it, talk to my spouse and I didn't have to walk into the dealer and wait around all day as I did a few days before. The price on the van was more than fair and significantly better than I had seen elsewhere. We decided to call Carlos and let him know we were ready to move forward. After emailing in the credit app, Carlos called back with the financing details and then upon approval, arranged the paperwork. He even offered to deliver the car to us at no cost. Ted from finance called me the next day to go over the numbers and terms and verify all the information. The numbers came out as they should, no surprises and everything Carlos promised was in the paperwork. The price was great and I didn't need to even haggle. It was a relief. We decided to come in the dealer the next day, honestly still nervous things were not as easy as they seemed. . Everything was exactly as they said, and we spent a maximum of 15 min in the dealership. Buying every vehicle should always be this easy. Though they are a solid 2 hours from our house, it was worth it. It is the first time I left a dealer and really felt good about the entire experience. I am now glad my first van fell through. I had taken my RAV4 to a local shop for repairs because there were no available openings for over a…read moreweek. Bad choice, that shop did not know what they were doing, kept the car for two day and tried to upsell parts / work and didn't resolve the problem. I then took the car to Town Toyota and worked with Dennis Reyes. His technician quickly identified the problem as a loose steering rack bolt that needed to be tightened. They tightened the bolt and all other cradle bolts, reset all sensors, and a front wheel alignment. Town Toyota service department completed the work to resolve the problem and improve the drivability in a half day. The total cost was $347.10. The problem is all of their cars have unnecessary dealer markups for things that should be an option. We were looking at a 2024 Ridgeline and it had $3500 in tint, paint protection and other stuff the dealer put on. With the market like it is not sure this dealership is listening. Consumers don't want these dealer markups even if I did they are inflated. Perhaps since they are the only one in town people just pay it. The only option we had at Honda was to put down $1000 and wait for one to come as is from the manufacturer. Needless to say we wanted the Ridgeline but not all the complications. We left Honda and went to Toyota next door. We did buy a car and did not pay for a bunch of inflated dealer add ons I don't want. Sorry Apple Valley Honda you lost a sale because of these add ons.

We stopped driving it after the check engine light came on and made an appointment with an auto center. There they said that the fluids were never checked and that along with many other things the head gaskets needed to be replaced. I guess we should have paid more attention to the salesman when he said he hadn't checked the head gaskets because I'm sure he had and already knew they had to be replaced. Now, we are into the repairs and are paying just about as much as we paid for the car in repairs. Lesson learned, we won't be making this mistake again and purchasing a car here.
