Finding this Mister Transmission was a joy--and let's face it, no one EVER said, "I want to get my…read moretransmission replaced." Owner Katherine Hepburn, husband Ron, and the team were wonderful to deal with. They are truly passionate about cars. The cabinet display of all the muscle cars they have refurbished is proof! They're also practical/frugal with their recommendations. It's a family-run operation. They are busy but eager to be flexible with scheduling, pickups and dropoffs. Highly recommend this business.

Normally I don't like to write bad reviews on here even when their service is not on par or worse…read more But I just can't find words to describe my disappointment for the poor service and dishonesty that they put on display during the over month period I was dealing with them on my BMW transmission rebuilt job. I brought my car to them for a check-up as my dash display shows "Transmission Malfunction ". They said they'll drop the pan and do this and that for this amount of money, shouldn't need a total rebuilt, I believed them and left my car to them. Then I got a call saying I need to pay $1400 more as the torque converter needs to be replaced. That was unexpected, so I started to ask around and thinking well, bad luck, it's still cheaper than a total rebuilt. Plus they assured me a two year warranty and told me everything should be ok after this job is done. Little did I expected is after they charged me $2K+ when I pick up the car, they said they can't give me warranty and my "Transmission Malfunction" indicator will most likely be on later (which it did 24hrs later) because there's other parts like valve body needs to be replaced, it's going to cost me this huge amount, way more than the total rebuilt that other shops quoted me. I felt cheated, and figured their trick was to keep adding jobs to initial quote and still not giving you guaranty if it's fixed so they can keep adding more jobs to it. I said I will call their head quarter to resolve this, then the manager Steve finally agreed to fix it within other shops average total rebuilt cost. But just when I'm ready to bring the car in, that same manager changed his mind and said he couldn't remember agreeing to it and my warranty does not cover anything even at that point I already paid 2K and problem still not fixed! I felt disgusted to continue dealing with him after he lied to my face and went to another shop and got the problem fixed. He even called and changed his mind again after and tried to get me to bring the car in and I knew he can't be trusted at that point. Which is proven to be right as the second shop that I went to told me at one point Mister Transmission sent my car to their shop to get a diagnosis as they couldn't figure out what the problem was. So, guys, do yourself a favor: if you don't want to go through what I went through, don't ever go to Mister Transmission at 1361 The Queensway location. One star is even over rating for this shop!

Sadly, I cannot recommend you bring your vehicle here. I initially came it with a blown…read moretransmission on a 2007 Chevy Colorado. The transmission blew because the front universal joint has excess play, resulting in a violent vibration, ultimately causing the trans case to blow apart at the yoke. The original quote was for the transmission service, and installation of two univeral joints. I also explicitly mentioned that I have an active code: p0717. That code states there is an interruption with the connection to the input turbine speed sensor. When picking up the vehicle, the transmission continued to shift rough from 1-2. And the p0717 code remained present. Additionally only one universal joist was replaced despite having paid for the service. Some time goes by, and the transmission loses second gear. By this point, the service provided was no longer within warranty. Having understood that, I still decided it was worth while to have it serviced, as the engine is very well maintained and operating with good compression. In addition to my second visit, I decided to purchase an extended warranty to give me some peace of mind... In order to not void your warranty, Mister Transmission requires you to go back to their shop for regular inspections, at their specific intervals. Given how busy I was with work; and how many more times I had to bring the truck in after the fact, I would have lost too much with my time off work to have been able to makes end meet. The truck, after having been serviced 3 times now has lost second gear yet again. (Mind you I am driving very cautiously to prevent any unnecessary wear and tear) When calling Mister Transmission eith regard to the third major malfunction, it came as no surprise to me that they denied my warranty claim. I also brought in to them a 2011 Mercedes B200, which also has not been the smoothest repair. I had to bring it back to them as a computer was either not installed correctly, and programmed correctly. I can't quite recall.... For being a "loyal customer" and leaving nearly 10k at their establishment, I was informed that I would receive a "good rate" I was quoted the same repair cost as my first visit; as stated at the beginning of this review. The takeaway: I feel taken advantage of in many ways. It's a lucrative buisness frankly... I understand times change, prices change according to the current economic status. However I feel like I could have been provided with a bit more compassion. I held off for a very long while to post this review, so that I can be sure that I am providing a fair an accurate assessment of the situation. Essentially giving Mister Transmission the benefit of the doubt. I think at this point, rather than worrying about my truck, I think it's more important that people know the struggle that came from my visit(s). I don't know who to go to at this point, that will be able to resolve this ongoing issue that is my transmission. However, when l do find a reputable, and reliable repair service, I'll be sure to update my review in the later months. Hopefully my experience will not be as bad. Sorry guys. I hate to post this, but I'm at a loss here. I really tried... These guys have been doing it for years, and understood exactly why it happened, and described he error code, symptoms and conditions to me. Chris who runs the shop, is one of the smartest guys I've ever met when it comes to transmissions. He's a young guy who's been doing this since he was a kid with having a shop in the family. I know a lot about maintenance and cars and believe me, Chris knows his stuff. His prices are more than fair. And probably the best you'll find for a full CVT rebuild. I had to bring my original job back to him because the valve body needed replacing. He said no problem, hoisted it again, drained all the fluid, and swapped it out. This is a good shop and anyone who has CVT issues I recommend coming here before they inevitably blow up. At least the older Nissan CVTs which had a design flaw which mine had. Without getting into detail, it's one of the pullies that uses tiny circle bearings. The bearing design causes them to fail after a few years and thousands of kilometers. When Chris rebuilt it, they used the knew upgraded design which uses proper metal sleeves to reinforce the ball bearings. I've been back once already just to check everything out, and he did it for me no problem and no charge.
