I moved to the area about a year and a half ago from Atlanta where I was accustomed to upscale nail salons. I have tried several nail salons in KC and Lee's Summit before I found this salon. I was attracted to the lack of a television set and the modern decor. I will admit I was treated rudely when I initially walked in for my first visit. However, my technician, Henry, made me feel very welcomed and took great care with my nails. After that initial visit, I was serviced by 2 other ladies there that did horrible jobs on my nails. HORRIBLE! I learned to just make my appointments with Henry to avoid disappointment. Henry is very patient with me, offers me a beverage, and does small talk with me -- all of which I appreciate. Every time I get a design added -- which is not very often -- I get SEVERAL COMPLIMENTS from both men and women. When I get my (gel) nails done by Henry, they last the entire 2 weeks. I make jewelry as a hobby, and the only time my nails chip or break is if I am recklessly using them to manipulate metals instead using a tool. I highly recommend this salon, particularly Henry if you're getting standard polish or gel nails done. read more

I had planned to get a glo pedicure with regular polish but all of their polish was old, very few colors and nearly empty. The nail tech scrubbed my feet for less than 5 sec, the massage was painful and less than 2 min. While the gel polish looks good, the bottoms of me feet clearly look untouched. Incapable of doing even the simplest designs as they are lacking in both skill and supplies. The nail tech also refused to do another design because she didn't feel it was the right season. Next she spent 90% of the appointment trying to convince me to get gel nails even though I explained to her that I wasn't interested. As punishment, she told me I couldn't get long nails because I refused to get gel nails. Imagine my surprise when she charged me an extra $5 for the long nails that I DID NOT get and refused to refund me. The nail tech refused to answer any questions about anything other than gel nail when I would ask her about pricing for designs and length. This place is a joke. It is extremely overpriced and the full set was subpar. It is best to take your money elsewhere where they aren't trying to scam you. read more

Honestly, I'm very surprised by all these negative reviews so I wanted to make sure I left a review today. I have been here atleast 10 times and every single time, no matter who I go to, they ALWAYS do a great job. I feel like the nail technician's actually care and I'm always happy when I leave. My favorite for pedicures is Toaster!!! He does an amazing job. I got my finger nails done today by Lisa, and she did such a good job too. I do dip powder. I'm also not super picky about my nails and usually just go with what ever color. I mainly care about the shape. Lisa was very gentle and took her time. I really appreciated that. I have been going here for at least 8-10 years and the this visit was horrible. I had not been getting my nails done for almost a year because I was not working. So I decided to get a mani, pedi and my eyebrows trimmed. The guy that helped me has been there for many years, probably from the beginning. I told him that I wanted just a basic pedicure. He did a good job initially. He even did a sugar scrub on my legs and feet.... which I thought was more than basic, however, he did very well, until the end. I noticed my heel was not touched and showed it to him. He flipped his had at me and said "well thats because you said that you only wanted the basic and thats alot for basic! I let him know that "I usually get good customer service here." He then told me to meet him at the front for my manicure. He didn't assist me with my things... nothing. I slid a little and almost fell, messing up my big toe. I just grabbed the polish, went to the front and fixed it myself, knowing that he wouldn't. I did not sit at the chair and he told me to move into the chair. I told him that I was not going to get a manicure, just charge me for pedicure. I hate being this person... but I would hate for someone else to have the experience I did. I went in for a pedicure, the service providers were nice and friendly. The space looked clean, but the lighting wasn't good. I can understand how it would be hard to do your job if you can't see. However, my biggest issue was the quality of work. Before I came in I had already shaped my nails so they were pretty short to begin with. The individual doing my service didn't say a word, sat down and started cutting away. Never asked me what I wanted. My nails were clipped so short it was painful. They cut the edges so my nail was then shaped to a point and then rounded the top. Anyone who knows anything about nails knows toenails should be square shaped for a number of reasons. The polish was also pretty messy and not applied all the way down to the cuticle. I should have said something way sooner and I will definitely do so in the future. My advice to anyone going here would be to definitely speak up. Don't let them shape or file your nails before telling them what you want. Paying for a service just to redo it yourself isn't fun. read more

I came home for break to get my nails done at my (used to be) favorite place. I ended up having to get dip because of the design which I already thought was weird, but it only got worse. They cut my nail too short with the clippers causing it to bleed and crack everywhere, they didn't take their time at all causing the dip to be bubbly and they didn't buff the cuticles/edges after the set was done so now (only about a week later) my set is cracking. It's always a hit or miss at glo, I've just been going because that's what I was used to and comfortable with. Some of the nail techs always seem to segway conversations into their personal political stances or just overall negatively skew the conversation. No compensation was offered after they cut my finger and I had to ask after the fact from another nail tech to make my nails (AT LEAST) all the same shape. Shape and length vary depending on which nail tech you get, I don't recommend going without an appointment with someone specific, or even going at all. read more

The hours posted says they close at 8pm. I went to get a pedicure and walked in around 6:30. Keep in mind that this was in the middle of the week and they had only 2 clients in there. The older lady told me they were closed. I said your hours say you close at 8pm. She repeated that they were closed and weren't taking anyone else. I politely said if they were closed why they don't have the doors locked? I said that's OK, I won't be back. Unfortunately, I was a regular client there, and I'm never going back. Don't GO HERE!! NOT CLEAN! I came here for a birthday gift. I had an appointment with Tiffany. Everything was fine tell it wasn't! Her and the other lady started talking about how you need to cut the nail to stop in grown toenails. I have been getting me feet done for years professionally and never have been told I have anything close to ingrown nails. Then she clipped super deep cutting my cuticle and hurt it was hurting really bad I told her to stop she kept going. Yes it did draw blood!!Then I was just pissed off no more relaxing for me. I stood up after I thought she was done but she just went outside and she never even put a top coat on my nails then when I stood up sure enough the pain around my nail started and didn't stop since that day it's been a whole month ago now. So I don't recommend this place at all. When I called to say how my big toes are now infected they said they would not refund me because they provided a "Service"?! To infect my toe? NOT my idea of a good "Service". All in all if I end up with hospital bills they will be hearing for my lawyer. And I might add this place was NOT very clean! I would give 0 stars if I could. My usual nail tech was on vacation, so I came to this salon. I asked for a gel mani and pedi. I told them I already had a gel mani, and it would have to be removed. The tech preceded to do the pedi. She did not soak of my old gel, even after I reminded her about it. She just nodded. I didn't say anything again because I figured she had her own routine. Once the pedi was done. I was taken to the manicure by another tech. That tech told me, I should have told the previous tech to soak off the gel and now my service would be longer. I explained that the other tech was told about my gel, and she didn't remove it. She didn't say anything and asked me to soak off the gel in a bowl of acetone. I politely declined because that really dries out my cuticles. I asked for the foil wrap, and told her I was ok waiting. She started wrapping with the foil without buffing off the shiny gel top coat. I knew it would take longer to soak off if not removed. She tried to keep wrapping without buffing until I told her that she needed to buff the gel off like I asked. She sloppily buffed off the top coat and put on the foil wrap. She then had another tech remove the gel and start the service. The new tech was nice, but I did not like the others attitudes. Of course, 5 days after getting this gel manicure, it's already peeling. I've never had a gel mani peel before 2 weeks. Next time, I'll wait for my usual tech. I have been coming to this location for years and I am still happy with their service and cleanliness. My daughter just had hers done as well with a basic French tip and design. Manicures are about $20 and my pedicure is $30. I have never had anyone be rude to me, some just know very little English. I will say my toddlers nails have gotten painted twice and it NEVER stays, but it does not stay when I do it either. I think they only charged me $5 to paint them so it's not a big deal, just for fun. I wonder if they just have to much oil on their nail beds. I have been to other places around the city that do not feel nearly as clean. It's not a SPA so pampering is not the goal. Just in, out, and on your way:) read more

If there was a 0 star I would give it for the way I was talked to without even letting me speak at all. I go there usually and rave about this place because I love the way they do my nails but customer service is important and when you lack that you lose your customers. I went online since I was dining next door and went to book an appointment. On the website it gave 3 times open 12, 12;30, 1:30 with three slots open on 1:30. So I booked it. Left a note that with Andy if possible. I was about to be done with my meal when I received a text message saying your appointment has been canceled call us. I called and she immediately tells me it's because you requested Andy and he is not back until next week. I said it's fine I can go with anyone else and she says no because I don't have an appointment for you next I have is 2:45. I said I had one you canceled it, she said no the online is not a confirmation or website says that but we also take phone calls for appointments and I took 4 so now I don't have time. As a customer that shouldn't be my problem since I booked my appointment at 11:30. The website showed times available and confirmed. But because she took phone calls she chose to cancel mine. And the worst problem is that she wouldn't let me explain to her that the website had it available then and that's why I booked it. So because she took phone calls after the fact that she canceled my appointment she refused to make the appointment for me again saying well I take you at 2:45. That's not what I booked, that's not what I requested and it doesn't work for me. So at the end of the day, she didn't just lose a customer because I'm sure she has others but she lost my respect to her place of business because if you gonna answer the phone yelling and making me feel like it's my fault that you canceled my appointment then you are disrespectful and I won't put my hard earned money into your business and ensure that my voice is heard by those who are working as hard as me to spend their money in such an establishment. I'm a director of sales and have my own staff and if they spoke to a client that way they would be fired. The worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. My manicure was done so sloppy and was painful to the point of leaving marks under my nail bed on my skin. I added tips to the dipping powder and the size does not match my finger size. All of my nails look different. some are shaped square and some are more oval. My pedicure was done fast and sloppy as well and it hasn't even been a week and the polish is chipping. Never again Went here for pedi with my daughter - rude employees!! While sitting letting my nails dry and daughter finishing up I am asked 4 times in 2 minutes to pay. Next day daughter 2 and her friend return for prom nails ... 4:30 reservation means nothing ... People come in and are seated before them.... 1 hour wait. Discriminated against a girl in a wheel chair! Her story ... Today I went into GLO nail lounge in Lee's Summit, Missouri, to get a spa pedicure for my upcoming cruise. Upon arrival, I was immediately openly discriminated against. It became very obvious that my business was not wanted. I could sense that my wheelchair was a problem and they did not want to deal with it. I explained what I wanted done and they kept asking my friend, instead of me, as if I couldn't speak for myself. We finally made it back to start the service and they said they would not give me the full pedicure because it would take too much time and be too much of a hassle for the technician. We explained to them that they would not have to do any lifting since my friend was there to help me. They still refused and that's when I said I would be taking my business elsewhere.
