I wanted a huge chop (over 14 inches!) and had somewhat of an idea of bangs I wanted. Bekah treated my hair like it was a precious child. She immediately asked if I was donating my hair (even I forgot I was) and helped tie off my strands and even placed them in a bag for me. She helped me figure out a good length and asked if I was okay while she cut the majority off. She also asked my preference on where I like to part my hair too (which again I totally forgot that existed). I appreciated that because I was slightly freaking out. Ladies, surely you know what I mean. The hair washing? Therapeutic. She then helped my indecisive self with the chosen length of shaggy bangs. I knew it was almost closing time for the salon, but Bekah made me feel like the cut wasn't being rushed at all and made sure I was happy with the result. I was super comfortable during the whole process. It's been YEARS since I've stepped into a salon for a haircut y'all. After styling and some curling, I fell in love with my new look. I'm so satisfied with just everything, including the prices! I highly recommend Bekah (and not just because we have the same name).

I was very particular about the color because I have my hair up most the time as I am a preschool teacher. After 3 LONG hours getting the highlights and the cut I kept having to have her change some here and there so when I could wear it down it suited my needs. It wasn't exactly what I wanted..I had shown her pictures of the style and the way I wanted chunky highlights. I was so worn down and back hurt so bad at that time I just wanted to get out of there. The next day I put my hair up as usual to be surprised by how uneven she did the color! My left side was light and good; but, my right side was dark. Not wanting to step in the salon again I had to get my own color and dye brown into the highlights light myself. Now I need to figure out how to lighten up my right side! I don't know how to go about that directly. I also had to frame my face with shears so I could have some long bangs as shown to her. I'm not a hairdresser! I'm at a loss of what to do about this. I feel horrible and can't enjoy the over 3 hours of horrible pain and how long the whole process was. I guess I learned an expensive hard lesson..just because the salon may be good..the stylist may be horrible! Unfortunately it's not something I can return and get my money back or I would have by now!! I don't usually post on Yelp; but, I'm doing a disservice by not making people aware..

I just moved to the area from California, and I had my hair cut at another local salon…read more I decided to cut bangs into my hair, after about 3 years without them. I went to the other salon, and showed her several pictures of how I wanted my bangs to look. This particular stylist hacked my bangs. I mean, I could have done a better job myself. Nothing is worse than a hairstylist who clearly wants to be somewhere else when she is cutting your hair AND during the time when you are cutting in bangs after growing them out over a long period of time. So, after my bangs were chopped, I spent even more time on Yelp trying to find a salon who could help fix my bangs. Pure is close to my house, and the 5 star ratings cannot be ignored! I was able to get an appointment that day with Iasmina. She fixed my bangs in the best way she could and I was so thankful. She spent time with me looking at how they were cut, and she fixed some other issues with my haircut that I did not like. I am now a few weeks out from my appointment, and my bangs are growing in perfectly. They still are not exactly what I want, but they are so much better because of what Iasmina did with them. I scheduled my next appointment with her immediately. Front desk staff was super friendly (Becky!) and she gave me a tour of the salon when I came in. I have never experienced this before, and I thought it was such a nice touch. It is really clean and bright, and everyone is very friendly. I would highly recommend this salon.

If you don't know what hairstyle you'd like the stylists are very good at selecting a hairstyle that matches your face shape (or they will go with your choice on hair magazine). Ever since I found this place I have not gone to any other salons. The price is high especially if you get a perm but I think for the service and the ambience and the quality results it is totally worth it.

I had red hair for years and wanted to go back to my natural color, which is dirty blonde. I wanted to go some place good with stylists that are experienced in color correction. I've heard of Public Shoppe before but always was looking to find the cheap salons, which never worked out in my favor. It's a little pricier than average at Public Shoppe, but it is SO worth it. I booked my appointment with Ginny because the employee on the phone recommended her since she does color correcting. Amazing experience, 10/10. She's so personable, upfront with you, and sooo skilled at hair. Highly recommend booking with Ginny!! I came in with bright red hair, and after only one session, the first pic is how it turned out. If you want a great hair cut, come to Beauty Time. Period. Professional, friendly, talented, convenient location, reasonable rates. You won't be disappointed. (I've posted before and after pics of my cuts with this review.) Plus, they are fully up to date with covid protocols and thorough cleanliness so no worries there. (In fact, Nick's wife Arcana was cutting my hair even before they opened their own shop and I followed her to their own place--that's what a good job she does.) Beauty Time's downtown Arlington Heights location is very convenient if you live anywhere near Arlington Heights--tons of free parking, plus plenty of other businesses nearby if you're running errands. I think most guys have Nick work on them--my 17 year old son does, and he has had multiple style changes and has always been very happy with the results...plus they are very reasonably priced. Same thing with my mother before she became home-bound. Since Arcana has been my stylist for so long I usually call and ask when she'll have time and we work it out so I walk straight into the chair. I have never left without feeling like I got a great cut. After all this time I just found out that Nick does "old fashion" shaves and since they've never let me down I am certainly going to try that to start the new year off right.
