Cheryl is literally every bride and groom's dream come true. We got married on February 29th, 2020, with just 7 months of planning prior, and its unimaginable to think about how we could've made our dream wedding a reality without Cheryl by our sides. Planning a wedding for 500 people is no easy feat, let alone a wedding that spans over the course of 3 days. Cheryl worked with us from the very beginning- reaching out to each and every vendor we came up with. Truly, this woman has more patience than anyone we've ever met- which is no exaggeration. Most wedding planners we've seen our family or friends hire get frustrated when you come close to a decision and then renege- asking to reach out to just a few more vendors, but not Cheryl. She will do everything in her power to make sure that you do not feel pressured and are happy and comfortable with the decisions you make and contracts you sign, even if that means a lot of extra work on her part. There were several times we felt bad, to which she would ease our worries saying, "Don't even worry- it's all a part of the process!" We joked with her so many times during the planning- asking her if she ever takes a break. Well, spoiler alert to anyone wondering- she doesn't, but she still makes it all look easy. To those of you that are very detail-oriented and particular, she is just the right fit for you. She would make Marie Kondo proud with how organized she is in her wedding planning; no detail goes unnoticed. She was there at almost every single vendor meeting, tasting, etc- never missing a beat. A couple of our vendors even praised how hands-on and present she was, saying they had never seen a planner that was this dedicated before. We had so many moving pieces during our wedding and it was quite a production, but Cheryl handled it all seamlessly and with a smile on her face- like the classy professional that she is. We had some deep conversations with Cheryl along the way, which just made us love her more and more. A lot of people that are in the wedding industry can fall into a mentality of "well- this is just another wedding, just another weekend to me." Not Cheryl. What happens when someone finally gets the chance to have their dream job? You get someone like Cheryl. Wedding planning isn't work to her, it's a labor of love. She pours her heart and soul into every single wedding she plans. It is so easy to see how much she enjoys what she does and how happy it makes her to bring each and every couple's dream wedding to life. Any time we were feeling uneasy about anything in the process, she was always there in our court- making sure that our needs were met by our vendors. During the contract process she asked for so many different concessions on our behalf from our venues and vendors that we didn't even think about. These concessions truly elevated our wedding- making it incredibly memorable for us, and all of our guests. She saved us thousands of dollars with her savvy negotiating skills and experience- well over what we paid to have her on our team. If you're wondering if a planner is worth the money- the right one can be the best decision you make. So many of our guests commented that our wedding was the most well-organized wedding they had ever been to. This is all thanks to Cheryl. With that said, this review would not be complete without mentioning Cheryl's husband, Rohit. One of the biggest reasons that Cheryl is able to throw herself so passionately into her weddings is because she has the best support system in Rohit. Rohit was there by Cheryl's side during our entire wedding- complementing her skills with his own, no task too big or too small. One sweet gesture that has remained in our minds is the memory of how Rohit put together a bag full of packed food for us at the end of every single one of our events, giving us a chance to try any items we might have missed in the flurry. You hear so many couples say that they never got to try the food they spent so much time picking out for their wedding, but Cheryl & Rohit would never let that happen. They are thoughtful and caring, always making sure their couples are taken care of. We would 100% recommend anyone to hire Cheryl. When we started planning our daughter's wedding in October 2019, the first person that came to my mind was Cheryl Fernandes! We had known Cheryl and Rohit for a while, as we were neighbors and we had also attended some amazing events, including a wedding planned by Glitzzy Events. Cheryl and Rohit always have a very calm, pleasant and cheerful demeanor. I called Cheryl, with my fingers crossed, and asked her to be our wedding planner. She is one of the most sought after Indian wedding planners in Austin area and I was hoping her schedule matched ours when it came to finalizing the wedding date. She checked her calendar and informed that she would be able to help us in planning our daughter's wedding, which was scheduled for November 2020. Our daughter's wedding was unique as it was going to be a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony and the food for all events had to be completely Vegan. Cheryl was happy and excited to help us with these requirements. The wedding planning was going well as per Cheryl's guidance and then the pandemic started! It put a screeching halt on the wedding preparations. Everything became so uncertain, so unpredictable. Cheryl continued to support us in all our discussions. She cheered us up when we were all feeling very stressed. Finally, we (bride, groom and parents) took a collective decision to postpone the wedding till November 2021. As soon as we reached the decision, Cheryl immediately told us that she was going to drop off the call as she wanted to start contacting all our vendors to get them rescheduled and draw new contracts with them for the new wedding date! She sprang into action and within the next few days worked things out with our wedding venue and got us all the same vendors for the new rescheduled wedding date. Cheryl suggested us some of the best vendors, including photographer, videographer, hair & makeup, mandap, henna artist, saree draping expert, DJ and caterers!! There were several challenges due to the limitations caused by the pandemic. Cheryl gracefully and gently navigated us through all the hurdles. Whether it was shopping for all Indian wedding outfits in the US, or online shopping for welcome bags, wedding favors, decorations, jasmine strings, flowers, Cheryl was our guiding light! Our unique requirement of having vegan food at all the wedding events was wonderfully handled by her. She suggested some of the best caterers who made fabulous Maharashtrian, Bombay Chaat, TexMex, Italian food, desserts and gorgeous wedding cakes (bride and groom's cakes).....all completely VEGAN!! The multiple food tastings were totally worth it! The regular scheduled zoom calls with Cheryl helped us all. She kept us on track and things were done in a timely manner. Cheryl was always available for us no matter how small or how big our question was for her. If she did not have an answer for us at that time, she would always do her research and get back to us. Cheryl is absolutely passionate about her work and takes the load off of the parents shoulders. We experienced this throughout the process of two years (in our case due to rescheduling). In the last couple weeks before the wedding, she helped us deal with the last minute challenges caused by the local weather, delayed shipments, last minute surprises, etc. We were completely at ease because we had Cheryl on our team! Glitzzy Events managed Pratham Austin's gala this year on September 17, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency. The program was fairly complex with many codependent moving parts, which had to flow correctly for the night to be considered a success. It's an understatement to say this year's gala was the best we've ever had. With 530+ attendees, over 15 vendors, and incredibly high expectations, as the organizers, we knew that there would be a lot to manage on the day of the gala, and I was personally prepared to spend the entire evening helping manage logistics. However, Cheryl and her team were fantastic! Every single detail was taken care of and I was actually able to mingle with attendees and enjoy the evening. Every attendee who provided feedback on the event said it was wonderfully organized and run, the credit for which goes to Cheryl. I was particularly impressed with Cheryl's ability to manage multiple details with high-quality results. She managed the delivery and set up of appetizers from 5 different restaurants, the photographer, DJ, auction set up, décor, venue details, food and beverage, all with attention to detail and style. No detail is too small for Cheryl to manage. She managed the entire registration process for all our attendees which included the creation of goody bags with auction paddles, training volunteers to register guests, and problem-solving as issues came up. The creation of the goody bags was a huge undertaking and Cheryl and her team pulled it off beautifully. There is no doubt in my mind that when Cheryl takes on an event, she gives it her all. Her commitment to going above and beyond and passion for excellence is unmatched. In the history of Pratham Austin, we've never had a gala that was this successful or this well organized, and much of that had to with Cheryl being at the helm of it. Cheryl helped me and wife plan an amazing wedding! We had a fusion Indian/American wedding and Cheryl knew about both cultures and wedding styles very well and did a great job infusing the two. Since I had been living in another state during the planning, having Cheryl was very helpful and took a lot of stress off us! This is probably my first ever Yelp review. I have always viewed online reviews with an eye of suspicion. But the fact that I am writing this is a testimony to the gratitude I feel for Glitzzy Events. My wife and I had hired Glitzzy Events for our first baby shower. My wife and I had ideas in our heads about how we wanted the event to be. Not only did she understand exactly what we were needing, but she actually exceeded our expectations and implemented it to perfection! That is nothing short of 'magic'. But never mind version 1.0 issues; we have a version 1S due in exactly one year from now and that event would need to trump this one . I just recently got married in Austin, TX and I loved my experience working with Glitzzy events! I first started working with Cheryl a little under a year prior to the big day and she was gracious enough to take me on as a client despite her busy schedule. I am so thankful that she did because this wedding could not have been as amazing as it was without her and the entire team! Cheryl was excellent at keeping us on track throughout the entire planning process. She is extremely detail oriented and was constantly suggesting things that really made a huge difference in our event. Events: Sangeet June 26th, Wedding June 27th, and Reception June 28th. Location: San Antonio, TX We first contacted Cheryl almost 10 months before our big day. We had viewed many others and just from her videos we knew there was something about her. Once we had our first call, we couldn't stop talking about Cheryl and the instant connection we felt. We had Cheryl's top package and looking back, we wouldn't have changed anything. Her weekly conference calls helped us stay on track with contracts, payments, discussions about the timeline and also allowed us to be held accountable given our busy and hectic schedules. She made the whole wedding planning process a breeze! To put things in perspective we signed her contract in late September 2018 and before January 2019 we had the Venue, photographer, decor, videographer, horse for the baraat, DJ, Hair and Make up Artist, clothing designer and mehndi artist all signed. These were major pieces we had done within a few months. Nearly two months before the big day all we had were tiny components left which were mainly extras and related to logistics. The week of the wedding is where we were even more grateful of having Cheryl and Rohit present. They made things go extremely smooth. We didn't feel stressed except for minor unexpected details but once we told Cheryl they were swiftly taken care of. Cheryl was the best. Event planning is something that comes naturally to her and she enjoys doing it J . We contacted Cheryl 3 months prior to our wedding and neither of us were in Austin. So Cheryl had to coordinate most of the planning with our vendors, church and reception hall. She would communicate with us frequently and would always reply to our messages in a prompt manner. She would bring up issues/things that we had not planned for or forseen. She was extremely well organized and meticulous Since I'm from India and my wife is from the US, We had a mixed wedding with a traditional south Indian function 'Roce' the night before and a church ceremony followed by a reception the next day Cheryl helped plan and run all the events (3 of them in the space of 24 hours). For our church ceremony, when the coordinator from the church could not show up for the rehearsal - Cheryl ran it by herself and did an amazing job for the rehearsal and for the wedding the next day The whole process was well planned (with great attention to detail) from the welcome bags, to arranging transport for guests, to small things like ensuring the bride and groom had food to eat, had gifts brought back to the room - she took care of it all. The decoration for the Roce, and the wedding, the food at both events were fantabulous. In addition, she and her husband and her associates put in not a 100% but 150% effort into everything they did. Cheryl and Rohit Fernandes of Glitzzy Events provided the event management services for our son's wedding in Austin, TX. They assisted in identifying and selecting all the necessary vendors - floral arrangements, photographer/videographer, caterers, DJ, special events items, etc.  Our son's wedding was originally planned to take place in 2020 but due to COVID constraints the event had to be moved to the latter part of 2021. We had heard from others that moving the wedding back a year would be difficult, with additional 'rescheduling' costs etc. associated with the move. However, Cheryl worked with her partners and vendors to make the change easy for us, and with no additional costs or fees. Cheryl is extremely knowledgeable about all the ins and out of wedding planning. As a mother the of bride I cannot say enough positive things about Cheryl , her Husband Rohit and their crew. Their professionalism, friendliness and advise on timeline and all event schedules were second to none. From the day she was hired in October, Cheryl was always available to respond to emails, endless text messages and numerous phone calls. During the wedding they made sure that everything ran like clockwork, they made sure there were plenty of appetizers, cocktails and drinks for everyone, and even the hosts and their family members were always looked after. Most of all, they made sure that Venue was back to normal afterwards, everything was tidied up and put away.
