I was excited to support a new waxing business in East Cobb. I came in relatively early relative to their opening date. I received no discount and when I checked out, they gave me a BOGO card and wrote manually I would get $10 off my next service.... why? I got no discount, and they give me a BOGO and marked I don't get a BOGO, I get $10 off.... That's VERY confusing, why I am not getting what you promised to everyone else. This caused me to very much hesitate to go back because I was not accorded the discount as a first-time customer, they gave me a BOGO and wrote I only got $10. WTF. So, I didn't go in for a bit but I am a busy professional woman and thought I would give them another chance. I expected a $10 discount (which was WAY LESS than my card promised) I went in and wanted a Brazilian plus sideburn, which costs me $55 at every other place. It takes 25-30 minutes anywhere else. My experience was a one-hour visit. The esthetician refused to use a tweezer for a hair. She painfully tried to get the hair by threading for over twenty unsuccessful attempts, my experience was painful and left welts. When I checked out, she wanted to charge me more than my normal wax business, and when I gave her my $10 off, she extended my visit for more than 15 minutes trying to call the owners to verify she could take $10 off. I gave up trying to get a discount. TLDR is it took 2X longer, produced a sub-par experience, and cost more than my Brazilian regular spot. Super disappointed they baited and switched twice and cost more and didn't honor their initial offer BOGO and then didn't honor the second written commitment of $10 off. First of all, I have no problem paying for services received. I have had five appointments here w/in the past 3 months ... all with Jeni ... facials, sugaring, eyebrow tint, threading and waxing ... plus, I've purchased several skincare products. Total spent is approximately $750.00. I have never had my face and neck threaded before ... it REALLY hurt! Afterwards, she said I needed to come back in TWO weeks and have it done again ... what??? No. The last visit, I felt I was charged in an arbitrary and capricious manner. I always pay cash and leave a 20% tip each time. Since I've been there previously, I knew approximately what my total should be ... when checking out, she gave me the tab and I thought: that seems high ... but right then, another gal walked in and I wasn't going to stand there and argue with her, so I just paid it (including a $40 tip) and left. So, if you like up-selling ... go there If you like hearing an employee criticize another (she's no good, she's not clean) ... visit Glitz OR if while getting your service, you enjoy hearing an employee go ON and ON about how there's no business and she sits there BORED all day, making NO MONEY ... then please, stop what you're doing right now and run on down there!!! I am leaving this review to hopefully save someone else from experiencing the lack of care and common customer service that I experienced at Glitz. I walked in on a quiet Saturday morning and I noticed there weren't any clients. However instead of being greeted, I was just told to sign in and then rushed when 2 women (not of color) walked up behind me and went on to receive a warm welcome by the same woman who rushed me to sign in. I wish I knew her name so I could call her out for lack of service, but she then proceeded to tell me to come back another time because these other women who clearly walked in after me were going to be serviced before me. I simply left and will not be returning again. This is truly disappointing because I had been going to Glitz for some time, and have even recommended their services to several family and friends. I'm not sure if this is new management that they're under, but this is not how business should be conducted. I definitely felt there was racial bias and will not further recommend Glitz to anyone else. read more

I came and got a Brazilian because it was about time but I needed something in my job area rather than by the house. After finding this place on Groupon and looking at the reviews, I decided to give them a chance. Lucky for me, she honored the Groupon price and was able to take me within an hour of me calling. I walked in and was super excited that the place was not only clean but not cluttered, either. I was able to see everything she was using. She was also easy to talk to while getting it done so I want so focused on the actual waxing and pain, lol. This was only my second time and I was pleasantly surprised that this didn't hurt as bad as my first experience because that was my biggest concern. I almost scheduled my next visit while I was still there but I can save a little with my Groupon so I'll go get my next one from there but I'll definitely return and hopefully make this my regular waxing spot! read more

I use to go here for Sami for 2 years, I went in some months ago and they told me she was on vacation for 2 months.. they followed me out to my car telling me they would service me, but I wasn't interested. I ended up running into Sami not long ago- and she never went on vacation, she just didn't work there anymore and they were lying to her customers to retain their business instead of just saying she was no longer there. Shame. Too many other businesses that offer these services that understand customer care. I went in for eyelash cluster extensions. Every single eyelash was on my pillow case the next morning. I put no product on them. I called the next day very nicely not even asking for a refund but simply a credit for threading, a cheaper service. The woman blamed me for not being careful, she has never had this happen before. and she said that she was doubtful "Nick" would do anything about it. Wow! I told her I would be happy to get in my car and drive over for her to see that I did not have the lashes on any longer and was not looking for a free credit She called me back to say Nick said they would do the lashes again. I've been coming here for the last three years & i can truly say that i might have to find somewhere else to get my wax. After reopening from the pandemic, there has been newer staff. One of them being an older lady with glasses. She has done my Brazilian & underarm wax maybe 5 times. The last three have been questionable. The first time that was questionable, she waxed so rough to when we were done, i notice i was bleeding. I took pictures to show my husband, but didn't make a big deal, only because i never had an issue. I thought maybe it was just one of those days. Mistakes happen. The second time, she was rough again! This time, pulling my labia with the wax!! So i said "Um i feel like you're pulling my labia with this wax paper"..she said that she wasn't, but had to make sure she got all of the hair. She proceeded to finish my wax (pain free). This third time (last week), she was pulling my labia with the wax AGAIN! She did not use her hand to cover the area once removing the wax. She did not wax my inner buttox. I was in so much pain after i left, i had to go to the bathroom and wet some paper towels with cold water to put in my underwear after i left. Here it is a week later and I'm seeing i have small hair bumps. She is the l one who typically does most of the waxing. The other lady does too, but she does mostly brows,etc Overall, i like this place. I'd suggest if people go here, to just try it for themselves. My review is just a warning if you do get the older lady with glasses. She can be rough and is quick. Which i don't get either, because waxing takes at least 20-30min. I came here because the woman who used to wax me at a different salon left and I wasnt a fan of the others' work there. This wasn't a convenient drive for me but I was willing to give them a shot based on previous reviews and their new customer special. I have been in twice now- both times for a brazilian wax. The first time I came in, they immediately greeted me and offered me a beverage. The salon was clean which is important. I was very pleased with the quality of work during that visit. Even afterwards, I experienced very minimal ingrown hairs. The second visit in Ibhad a different woman performing the service. She was fine but not at good as the women I had the first time. I was okay with it because she was still better than those at my previous salon. I will probably continue to go despite the longer drive because their loyalty program is better and I haven't had issues getting in at a time that is convenient for me. read more

I was looking for a small business sugaring place earlier this afternoon & came across this one. Two words... VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! This has to be to be, hands down, the worst service I've ever received. Wish I had read the reviews. -Stated I wanted bikini sugaring. We established that over the phone & in person. -We get into the room she's still standing in there with the door open & she's asking me to remove my pants. I told her the door is still open so she pulled it but it was still ajar throughout the entire service. -I take off my pants lay on the table & she's messily shaking powder all over my bikini area. Then proceeds to put wax on me. Yes, she used hot wax & strips. -Multiple time throughout service I ask her was this sugaring. I thought it was less painful & she says it's because it's your first time that it hurts. I also added I thought you peel it off with your hands when sugaring. -She even stated they are ONLY doing sugaring rn. Which means she's being intentionally deceptive. -It was sooooo painful that I asked her to not even finish & she said it'll be the same price and I said that it's okay. THEN she literally goes on to finish & put wax on the other half of my bikini area. She reused some of the same strips so many times. -Along with her not performing the service paid for she did not even do a good job with the waxing. I still have so much hair. -Kid you not, I left the place with powder & wax over most my bikini area & in between legs. I don't even know why I paid her. She is so wrong for this. After reading another review, I think someone should stop this lady. One service was paid for & another was received. I advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs. read more

While I really hate to leave a negative review for a small business in today's economy, I had a truly terrible experience here today and feel others need to know about it so they don't endure something similar. Sadly, my regular waxing place did not survive the pandemic and the location closest to me closed, so I decided to try Glitz since it's not too far away and I'd had one previous decent experience when they were the first to reopen during lockdown and I was desperate for a Brazilian. I booked a full body wax. Upon arrival, the woman convinced me to "upgrade to sugaring because it's pain free." However, what I got was not sugaring. Actual "SUGARING" is a waxless procedure that entails a sugar-based, room temperature substance being rolled into the surface of the skin and removed without a fabric strip --the point being that unlike wax, it adhere to or pull on your skin, only your hair. What this woman did to me was not sugaring. Perhaps it was a natural, sugar-based FORM OF WAX, but it is very rare that a salon doesn't use either real sugaring and/or hard wax for a Brazilian because soft wax, which is what she used, hurts horribly on sensitive areas. My Brazilian was far from the "pain free" experience she sold me by convincing me to upgrade, and the legs were even worse. She moved so quickly and was so rough that I felt like I was actually getting bruised, in addition to the discomfort of hair being yanked out of my legs. Additionally, the room was set up in such a way that the table was against the wall, meaning that for her to even access my bikini area, I had to keep my legs up in the air for nearly the entire time which was not only uncomfortable but actually painful due to a hip issue I have. It is absurd that a room would be set up for waxing in such a way that the esthetician can't move around the table, but I suppose they did it this way to save money by cramming more, narrower rooms into the space. I raised my arms for her to do my underarms, and she kept pushing my bent elbow down to create a more smooth, pulled skin, literally bending my arm in a way arms are not meant to bend. I'm in actual physical pain now in a shoulder that I've previously dislocated. For reference, I've been being waxed for more than 10 years and have never had someone push on my extremities this way, nor instruct me to put my legs up in the air for an entire Brazilian wax. Not to mention, she got wax in my hair and clothing--ruining a blowout I had this morning because she had to put oil in my hair to get the wax out. There is zero reason that an underarm wax should result in wax in the hair of my head. I let her know after all of this painfulness that I would not be having my eyebrows tinted and waxed as previously planned. There is no way I could trust this woman to do that, so we proceeded to tint my lashes. I've been having my blonde lashes tinted for a couple of years, but this was my first time doing it here. Considering how blonde my hair is, and therefore how quickly it darkens, I was pretty shocked when she handed me the mirror and my eye leashes were still blonde. She acknowledged that the color hadn't taken, and proceeded to try again. While the tint was on for the second time, she asked me to remove my mask -- which I thought was because it was in the way, when in fact it was because she was going to begin threading my lip. I didn't agree to or ask for threading, which I hate. I wanted my lip waxed, but since my eyes were forced closed due to the tint, I couldn't see what she was about to do to stop her. Of course threading is so painful (which was why I didn't want it) that it caused my eyes to water WHILE TINT WAS ON MY LASHES which caused the dye to bleed into and burn my eyes. Even after a second try at the dye, my lashes are still completely blonde. It makes no sense whatsoever that even the lightest, weakest dye would not darken the blondest eyelashes you've ever seen--yet here I am hours later, one eye still irritated from the dye dripping into it due to painful threading, with pure blonde lashes. I will never, ever be back to Glitz and could never, ever, under ANY circumstance refer even my worst enemy to try a service at this place. There is absolutely no way this woman has had any form of professional, formal training, and the claim that they offer "sugaring" is flat out false advertising. read more

Nisha is quite friendly and wastes no time in identifying her clients needs. I even indulged in a henna treatment. Queen knows how to apply it quickly. She is a pro. The prices are reasonable too! I have been getting my brows threaded and dyed at this salon for over a year now. I cannot say enough good things! I had never done threading before and now I cannot imagine doing anything else. They always do a fantastic job and give a lot of attention to detail. I'm blonde so I'm always afraid of having brows that are too dark and unnatural looking yet every time I come to Glitz I leave with beautiful, natural looking brows. They offer a glass of wine, water which is also nice. They salon is VERY clean, the estheticians wash hands frequently and wear masks and protective gear. I booked an appointment online for 1:15 pm the next day and I planned to make the appointment a midday work break by walking to the location. Around 12:50 I received a call from Jeni saying that I could come in earlier and got there around 1:03 pm. I was greeted and offered water and my services began. From start to finish was about 15 minutes. She was very informative and it was my first time having my eyebrows threaded and there was little to no pain. So, this was my first time getting sugar waxing done. I have done a Brazilian chocolate wax a couple times, but it was so painful that I just decided that waxing was not for me. However, I saw that Glitz had a Groupon deal for $19 for sugar waxing. I read that sugar waxing is less painful, better for sensitive skin, and composed of all natural products. So I gave it a shot. And indeed all of these facts are true. Aside from the great price, I had an amazing experience at the salon. First off, I was pleased because I was able to book an appointment for same day (within an hour of calling). Secondly, I was immediately greeted to a clean and classy establishment. Thirdly, I had the most amazing beautician, Queen, who led me through the process with complete kindness, gentleness, and professionalism. She made me feel so comfortable and even gave me great advice on exfoliants for my skin type. Queen did such an amazing job that I even agreed to get my eyebrows threaded AND sign up for the $100 for 4 Brazilian sessions deal!
