Ruined my hair. Not worth it. Find a real salon. The hairstylist made a mess and made a very rude comment when I complained.

DO NOT GET A MENS HAIR CUT HERE!!! I stopped in here to get a haircut while visiting from Florida and told the girl who cut my hair exactly what I wanted, she ended cutting a lot more hair in the back of my head for some reason and I noticed after she was done that she did it and I wasn't going to say anything on top of the other bad stuff she did to it but after 5 of my family members said how terrible my hair looks and another one asking me if I am going bald in the back of my head(which I'm not it's just a bad hair cut). So I just came back to this place to get my $30 back for this messed up hair cut and was told they can't do that but was willing to give me a credit towards another haircut, I'm like (A) I live in Florida and going back in 4 days And (B) I don't want anyone in this salon touching my hair again. So overall outcome - a very bad haircut and no refund for having to now wait at least a month probably two to even get fixed the back of my head. Not to mention the holidays coming up and I look like I'm balding...THANKS GLITZ Update: I was completely nice when I came back to this salon and after being told no refund only credit I said no that's okay I just wont ever come back and went out to my car to write this review to put on Google and Apple Maps, while sitting my car writing this review these dumb people called the cops on me. I decided to try this salon since it was very close to my house - I had a haircut - LOVED it and loved the lady who did it so her and I discussed me coming back before my vacation for highlights (which I have been getting for 20 years). She wanted me to purchase some products (which I did) to prep my hair better for when I came in for the highlights. When I came back she said she would like to dye my hair (my hair is naturally a dirty blonde) but not the tips because my highlights were still there and it would be healthier on my hair and I would be light blonde like the ends of my hair. Why not - never had it done but she seemed confident this was the way to go. We discussed my preferences and I told her I do NOT want red hair - I hate myself with red hair - she assured me that would not be a problem. She dyed my hair and it turned out - RED RED and several shades of it - she put a toner in it and it seemed to darken it up but it was as red as could be. I was in shock and left the salon - I have never had this happen and she knew it was bad. She told me since I was leaving for Florida to buy some SUN-IN and it will lighten it up, which did not sit well with me. I just spent $90 on this? I got home and called - she said she would fix it. I talked to the salon manager - wanted to know how this was going to be fixed and what steps needed to be done. I had never had anything like this happen to me. She informed me that she did not do hair so she didn't know what it would take to fix it and that she had red hair - when I told her I hated red hair - I think you asked for red hair lady - I did not. She was of no help and when I came in to get it corrected she did not acknowledge me after I introduced myself to her and she did not check to see if I was happy with the end result. This is not how I would expect this to be handled. I did go in and she did highlight my hair - although she didn't want to the first time because of the damaging effects - I am pretty sure my hair is more damaged from her doing what she wanted not what I wanted. She did highlights very well - she did not do them like a bad hairdresser but my hair is still red and I hate it. It still looks terrible to me and I don't know what else to do except go to another salon to get it fixed again which will cost me another $90. The hairdresser was one of the nicest people I have ever met but she did a horrible disservice to me and the salon manager did not do anything to make the situation better. I do not recommend this salon and I will be sure when friends ask where to go I warn them of this. read more

I am a long-time, soon to be former, customer. I've been getting my hair cut, styled and highlighted at Glitz for more than 15 years. When I switched to wearing bangs recently, my stylist told me to stop in anytime in-between cuts for a quick bang trim - no charge. I thought that was great customer service and bragged about how awesome my stylist and salon were to friends and family. (I probably did this three or four times over the course of a year and I always tipped my stylist.) I stopped in the other day and was informed there is now a $17 charge for this 5-minute trim. I'm already paying $48 for a haircut - I'm not paying an additional $17 for a 5 minute trim 4 weeks later. This isn't the way I think loyalty should be rewarded and I am now asking those same friends for referrals. read more

Well I went to glitz on 9/10/11 for an updo for my little brothers wedding I was in up north later that day....the bride reserved space for 5 to get there hair and makeup done.....it ended that only 3 of us could come. Myself, sister of the groom, another bridesmaid and my little high school cousin that was the jr bridesmaid. When I arrived the jr was in the chair getting her already dry hair blown straight to get extensions put in. the girl who was to do me brought me back. There was about three pics we brought to show kinda what direction to go with the hair. She took all of my left side into a right braid. Then she took the right and made out into a side pony. I had to ask her to change things and it seamed that she was not happy to do it and even told me ' we can't do that' it looked horrible and took her maybe 12\14 minutes even with my wanted fixes. At this time the other 2 girls were still getting there hair worked on. So we went to do my makeup which took her maybe 4 minutes. My eyes were uneven and the shadow want even in the proper place. The darker part was put up by my eyebrows! I was up set cuz I had asked her to change more with my makeup too. I was trying not to cry from feeling so unappreciated as a client. As I was getting my things together I noticed her go to a woman (client) sitting in the waiting area and bring her back....i realized I was rushed because this lady had been waiting since mid up do. I ended up driving an hour n half away to have the bride look at me and say we have to fix this. I took out all the bobby pins, brushed it out and pinned it of to the side myself! I did a better job on myself and worth the help of the other bridesmaids we curled me up and I washed the makeup off and redid my own......I'm a single mom and the $100 could have been saved. And I called to talk to the manager....she left me a message that they were to have a meeting and she would contact me then.....instead I get a message from the girl who did all this telling me maybe I was upset from all the stress and that we were pressed for time.....i wasn't pressed for time I guess she was....the girl that did an excellent job on the jr bridesmaid took almost 2.5 hours! She want pressed for time! And she overcharged me $5....which isn't much but looks like its the only thing they will give me back and thats because I brought it up in the letter I wrote to mg. really? You couldn't give me a partial refund or something? I'm struggling as it is. Horrible experience! And if you know me I am pretty awesome with trying things. Wish I want taken advantage of...i want to say her name was lindsay...can't be sure cuz she didn't really talk to me...but the two girls that did our other bridesmaids were very nice. I bought a Groupon for services at this salon, because their stylist, Andrea, had been recommended to me. I checked in with the receptionist, 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment. I waited 30 minutes, because the stylist didn't know i was sitting there. I was pleased with the haircut, but felt cheated about the payment process. The value of the voucher was for $100. My haircut cost $45. I expected a credit for the remaining balance, but was told that it was only good for one appointment. It did not indicate that in the terms of the purchase. I spoke with the manager, but she refused to accept that Glitz hadn't proof-read the offer and blamed it all on Groupon. I contacted Groupon and they tried to resolve this with the merchant, but informed me that the Glitz was unwilling to honor the terms of the offer. Groupon did credit me for the unused portion. But I will never patronize that salon, again. read more
