I went in at 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon without an appointment. They were able to get me in right away for a classic pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure area is in a room separated from the manicure area, which is relaxing. They have comfortable massage chairs that can be reclined. They were so overbooked, waited quite awhile, when I was directed to back room, waited again quite awhile. There were not enough employees. When a girl came to start, she left to work on someone else. When I ffinally got started it was a rush job, she was not friendly , did not listen to me, and I was done in 30 min. Went there to get my nails done for a wedding and got a pink to white ombré and a pedicure. The pedicure was fine, the pedi massage was very rough..ended up with a bruise.. either way there was a lack in communication as I the first thing I said was not to trim a specific nail as it was soft and regrowing.. it was immediately trimmed. Never minding that I stuck it out to get my acrylics done, the technician was very rough but my nails came out pretty good when it came to the color d ombré.. the nails were straight although my left hand's acrylics were far thicker than my right. Luckily that set lasted for 3 weeks before I returned for a fill.. which was the worst fill someone has ever done on me.. the color chosen didn't come out as the color picked.. upon inspection I believe they are refilling their powders with white acrylic. My nails were supposed to be a hot pink..they ended up a Barbie pink.. i was only able to notice the color after the gel polish was placed and the color fully showed.. then I was able to see the sloppy work she did under my nails and the splotches in color.. during this my friend was next to me getting her nails done.. which took 20 minutes longer than mine.. other techs kept coming over to look at him work as if the man has never done it before.. after that appointment my friend and I agreed we'd never go back. The only reason I'm making this review is because it makes no sense why one set of nails lasted 3 weeks and today I just lost a nail 5 days after my most recent appointment with the same technician. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Tried them today for the first time. Pedicure was rough, sliced up the bottom of my toes, I can barely put pressure on my big toes. Can't believe they still use cheese grater tools. Acrylic nails full set looks like Easter eggs on my hand, way to short but she wouldn't listen. Acrylic & polish isn't even to the cuticle. All my cuticles are raw and burning. I told the girl I wanted Ombre 3 times and she just ignored me. Fruit flies every where, so nasty. read more

I got a mani pedi here. The pedicure was good and my toe nails look good. Then I went to get the manicure and three of my cuticles were cut. One of them wouldn't stop bleeding and it leaked into my polish. The quality of my finger nails is not amazing. read more

This place is a one star I will never be returning back here ever again I couldn't even tell my nail tech how I wanted my nails shaped because she wasn't done yet and I tried to tell her how I wanted to her to file it before she got to the actual part of the shaping so that way I could avoid it from being messed up I tried to help her but they got very offended they didn't want to finish my nails they kept trying to tell me she said she wasn't done they kept speaking in different languages and basically harassed me the whole time for me having an opinion on my nails.... that I was going to pay for if I wanted it shaped the way I wanted to shape then that should've been honored but because the lady told me she wasn't done filing my nails I couldn't say anything ? It was about I was say 10 to 15 minutes of me pleading to them telling them I understand she said she wasn't done yet can I just get my nails finished so I don't have to go nowhere....the younger man kept trying to tell me trying to explain the situation and I kept telling him I already understood what he was telling me and I just wanted to get my nails done and they basically said that they didn't want to finish my nails because they got offended because I was trying to tell this lady how I wanted it shaved and the English barrier is really killing it with these nail salons because they can't speak English so when you go to a Nail Tech who can barely speak any English now it's a problem so now they have to translate whatever they're feeling to somebody who can speak English and that person who speaks English has to translate it to me and then I got two or three other people trying to attack me all because of one person can't speak English I never felt attacked like that in my life I respected them but once they said they wasn't going to do my nails....I walked out I refuse to pay for my pedicure because they refused to finish my nails anybody going to this nail salon you need to go and book your appointment with tan he is the owner of the nail salon he is the only one in there that knows how to do nails I can guarantee you right now that the old lady in there that nails and the man in there that did my pedicure or not certified nail technicians I will be reporting this nail salon to let people know that they should let these people know that they are not right to be treating people They way they do and to speak English....and not get offended because we can't understand what they're saying and they have the right to refuse service to us because we don't understand what's going on that's messed up I pay so much money for my nails all I ask is to have them done the way I want too but the guy literally told me I shouldn't have said anything cause she wasn't finished and that set me on edge I never ever do reviews but this nails salon calls for it !!! I really enjoyed the pedicure I got here! I'd post a photo of my toes, but no one wants to see my feet :) It's awesome that Glitz is open at 9AM on Saturdays!! Just about 9:10AM, my friend and I walked in, and although no one was sitting to greet us, someone popped their head out from back in the pedicure area to ensure us we could do a walk-in for two pedis. The staff was SUPER friendly and I felt totally comfortable being there. The back area can only seat about 8 people, so I would assume that it would fill up fast. The basic pedicure for $30 was really wonderful! It lasts about 45 minutes, although the brochure card says only 30. I'm not complaining. I enjoyed the massage part more than many other pedicures I have received. I wish more nail polish colors were available, but I found one I loved - no worries. Glitz also has a punch card! I scheduled an appointment to get my nails done for my engagement pictures, I asked a simple black dip powder with a square shape. Due to the length of my natural nails I was told he couldn't square them so I opted to have tips applied for the ideal shape. I was never asked if the length was okay however I would've preferred them shorter and I take responsibility for not saying something but that is not where the 1 star review comes from-- 2 hours after getting my nails done, my ring finger nail broke as I was picking up a box. I didn't have enough time to go and have it fixed before my pictures (embarrassing but not the worst part). So, I called to schedule an appointment to have it fixed. I arrived for my appointment and was the only client in the business, it took him 40 minutes to fix my one nail. During the process the nail tech burned my skin/cuticle area with the nail drill. He then later proceeded to go over the area several times with nail polish remover. I was grimacing and told him it really hurt, he was very dismissive and then became very short and rude. Honestly, it looks even worse than the broken nail. With this all being said, that same day after having that nail fixed I had 2 others break... since getting my nails done Sunday I have 3 out of 10 nails that are not broken (it's Thursday... 5 days later), the rest have broken and look AWFUL. I paid $45 plus a tip for this... what a terrible experience. read more

My experience was so upsetting that I waited to write this review to be level headed. I was excited to book my appointment as I a tight window to get my nails done before date night. The appointment was for 1 pm. When I arrived no one said that they were behind so I assumed it would only be a few minutes. It took 15 minutes to take me to a chair and another 15 minutes to start. After expressing my irritation with the extreme delay they hesitated to even start my service. Realizing I was not going to get good service I left. Just moved to the area and needed to get my nails done. Peter was great and did a good job. The only complaint I have is I wanted a design on both ring fingers and he just put decals on them. I am used to a nail shop hand painting a design so I guess I am spoiled (?) Price is the same as the other place I used to go to. (but too far away now) I go to Kenosha a few times a month so perhaps I will check out a shop that hand paints on the design....... Not sure yet. However, Glitz nails is a nice shop. :) read more

Horrible customer service. If I could rate no stars I would. I booked an appointment with them before and it overall was a good experience. But the SECOND TIME, no way. I had an appointment, communicated with a lady that I was running 10mins late. She said okay and I said okay see you soon. 10mins later when I arrive as I'm opening my car door I received a phone call from them. This time it's a male "Peter" . He calls me speaking very rudely saying he has another appointment this and that. Which is fine I understand, but my thing is why didn't you say that when I told you I was 10 minutes away. Why did you have me waste my time, while I continued to drive to the shop when you knew you "wouldn't have time". The thing that gets me is I scheduled 2 appointments so maybe the second appointment was mine as well. But I'll never know because of how rude they were and demanding that I cancel yet they had me waste my time and drive there after we just had a conversation about me being 10 mins late. I just want to know if they are ever late for a client, we're on a time schedule as well. NEVER EVER WILL I GO THERE AGAIN! I tried Glitz because I really needed the acrylic nails I had put on for my wedding taken off (they were driving me nuts), it is close to my house, and was reasonably priced based on a glance at their website. The decor inside the salon is nice; clean, and recently remodeled. The website is attractive, clearly laid out and provides all the pricing information for you prior to going into the salon, which I really appreciate. I made an appointment, and when I got there, I only had to wait a few minutes before being set to soak my hands in acetone (which is what they use to soften the acrylic nail before removing it). The technician who took them off was fairly quiet, but friendly. She was very gentle with sander used to remove the acrylic nails, and it didn't hurt at all. Based on my experience, I would definitely return here to try other services like a spa pedicure or shellac manicure. read more

I've driven by this place a couple times and FINALLY gave in. I will never go anywhere else. They listened to my concerns about nail enhancements and made a recommendation that I took. The entire service they were attentive and even showed me the difference between filing techniques they use and other salons. My nails are gorgeous! Then we were told to Venmo the girl which also seemed very fishy. We left paying $135 for two dip nails!!!!! Do not go here. I went here for a manicure a few months ago. The nail tech who did my nails used instruments that were not sterilized. I got MRSA DISEASE in both my hands from this manicure. Overall, very nice salon. Clean, prompt service, big color selection of name brand products. I've been here twice and had a different tech each time. I like nail designs. The first time I came, tech #1 who did my design didn't quite do what I wanted, but my nails were still pretty. This time, I brought a picture of what I wanted and tech #2 pretty much matched the picture (with the exception of not using a glitter polish for the highlight of my design because the manager (?) didn't tell her to. It seemed pretty obvious in the picture that I provided. My only thing is that, for promoting nail designs as they do on their Facebook page, I have felt like I'm asking too much, like it's an inconvenience. I knew that the highlight should have been done in red glitter polish, but I was afraid to mention it - that's what I mean when I say that it feels like an inconvenience. I will add that I provided a link to an image of the design that I wanted when I booked my appointment online - I thought that would help to give them time to prepare (at least mentally). The other thing is that they have a stamp card that earns a $5 discount when filled. I didn't get one the first time I was in, so I asked for one today. When she stamped it (ended up being tech #1 who took my payment for my second visit), I asked if I could have a stamp for the first time I was in two weeks ago in addition to today's stamp. She said "No". No reason why, just "No". :-/ I intend to come back because I like the salon and want to give them a good chance. Maybe when I'm more of a "regular", I will have better experience with talking about designs. They treat their regulars better. My real rating is 3.5 stars. read more

Everyone is very nice and salon is clean and has a cool décor. My shellac nail polish lasts at least 2 weeks. (If I am careful and don't use my nails as 'tools' to clean my stove!) I get a manicure once a month and a polish change two weeks after. Prices are OK and they have a discount if you pay cash. They also have a punch card to work toward an additional discount. I have no problems with any of these details. Sadly, I will not be going there any longer because I just got tired of my nail tech being more interested in her phone than in doing my nails and talking to me. I kid you not, she must check her phone at least 10 times WHILE she is doing my nails. Maybe I am 'old school', since I am over 50 years old, but I just don't understand the addiction to a cell phone WHILE WORKING on the job. PUT IT AWAY until you no longer have a customer. By far the best nail salon in the area and me and my family have tried dozens. They're really really meticulous l they take there time and do each nail absolutely perfectly. Each nail is sized files and shaped exactly the same which is very hard to find. You can walk in with a picture of any nail style that you want and they will replicate it to the tee. Highly recommended very clean and sanitary. This is the go to spot for me and my entire family. I recommend making a reservation on the week end. Ten stars! read more
