Best cookies around! They are cute but so many bakeries are cute but not tasty. These are delicious. We always get extra because they are sooo delicious! They are great about fulfilling orders, too!!! read more

I had the opportunity to try their shortbread cookies at my church. Very, very good! I don't live close, but will make it a point to go by their and try other goodies (along with more cookies) the next time I'm in Fort Worth. I hope the other treats are as good as the cookies! read more

As far as taste. They are fine. Just like any other bakery. Basically have a ton of pre-made cookies and cupcakes. Cute designs sure. But I won't go back because of the customer service. No one was happy to see us that day. They seemed to be in " I don't care" mood. Maybe they were just focused on their work. No hello or good afternoon. We walked in and just stared at them until one of them said, "Are you ready ?" Yes, we were. We paid. No good bye or see you next time. read more

I just went to my fridge and found and oatmeal cookie from this place. I have no idea how it got there but let me tell you when that is the best oatmeal cookie I have ever had in my life and maybe best cookie in general. Thought it was necessary to leave a review because wow read more

Came here for something sweet after getting lunch in the area. Have to say... I was not impressed. $2.50 per cupcake. I got the carrot cake and strawberry. The icing on the carrot cake was too thick and there was too much so that it over powered the cake. The cake was not moist. The strawberry was better. The icing was not as thick but the cake was still not really that tasty. I'd say if you're up for it, go to the Arctic Chill 360 ice cream near by. It's worth your money. read more

Always my favorite go to birthday cookies. They have been a stable for my twin and I's bday for several years now. New location is great.

J Rae's makes amazing sugar cookies. I haven't tried anything else and have no desire to because the sugar cookies satisfy and comfort! Nicely decorated sugar cookies usually taste awful. They're dry, chalky, and lack flavor. J Rae's is the only nicely decorated cookie that tastes amazing. I discovered their goodness at TCU. They show some serious horned frog pride by doing many TCU displays. I had never been into the shop until recently. It was just before close and they had some styles left themed for Valentine's Day. I picked a nice looking heart, not realizing it was the one of the largest sizes and therefore the most expensive! $4.50 is very expensive for one cookie. Hence, the four stars. The good thing was that I was able to savor it over two days. The cookies are soft, moist, and a little underbaked in the center- just the way I like them! They have an almond flavor that is just divine. Be careful, these cookies are addictive. I highly recommend you try one! read more

Great cookies. Not very friendly girls checking out. Closes way too early. Closes at 2? I got there at 2:05 pm and the doors were locked. Go to Swiss Pastry Bakery because they close at 5 like normal. They have great cookies too. read more

I'd like to consider this place a hidden gem because I pretty much live for the restaurants, museums, and bars along the 7th street corridor and did not discover J Rae's until this week, however, all of my TCU friends would disagree. J Rae's is well known as one of the finest cookie and cupcake parlors in Fort Worth. We came in for cupcakes, and they were absolutely amazing. The frosting was fabulous, and the cake was moist and delicious. The decorated cookies are awe inspiring. They are the type of cookies that are so beautifully decorated that I would pin them to my Pinterest page and try (aka failing spectacularly!) to recreate at home. J Rae's may be my new favorite place in Fort Worth! read more

EVERYONE...Please try this business! I must first tell you that I haven't eaten anything they made (yet) but the owners are wonderful people and that could be reason enough to frequent their business. Our story: We ordered and paid for cookies decorated for a graduation party scheduled for today (Sunday). We needed to pick them up on Saturday since they are closed on Sunday, but with several out of town guests and other graduation parties going on -- we did not remember to pick up our order and failed to answer their phone call or listen to the message they left reminding us. Long story short - I messaged them via Yelp and they called my wife back quickly and rearranged their Sunday to meet us at the store, which is supposed to be closed, to accommodate us and get us our order. Thanks you so much for your kindness! I'm sure the cookies will be as incredible as you! Best, Mike and Jen read more

Went to J. Rae's for the first time the other day. Maybe I'm spoiled having lived in DC (land of the cupcake shops) but this place did not meet or exceed my expectations. I went with two friends and we each got different kinds and shared. The cupcakes are probably 1/2 frosting to 1/2 cake...off balance for me. A cupcake is primarily that, a cake. The pumpkin (seasonal) cupcake was probably my favorite, but still I just wasn't too impressed. Something I did appreciate was in decor and the cute little touches. The shop is adorable and inviting :) Parking is tough, given the location. We went on a weekday and still had a hard time finding a place to park. The lot is awkward and full. While the presentation was excellent, the food just didn't measure up (to echo Gail S!). I will probably try it again since they are much closer to me than La Bella, but I do prefer the latter. read more

J Rae's cookies were available to customers at Ft. Worth Meachan International Airport. On arrival from Kentucky, I took two sugar cookies shaped like airplanes to our two grandsons (5 yr and 3yrs) in Aledo. They loved them!! The little guys ate every bite of the huge cookies! When we departed 4 days later, I curiously tried an airplane cookie for myself...WOW! Absolutely the BEST decorated cookie I've ever eaten! (My husband wanted a bite, so I reluctantly shared) I may have to make up a reason to have them shipped to Kentucky ASAP!! Soooo delicious! Steve and Nancy Powless read more

When I lived in Fort Worth, I would make sure to get cookies from here for every special occasion. We got them for sorority events and even graduation. If you're every near Fort Worth, you have to try this place out!! I miss it greatly read more

Custom birthday cookies ordered via phone turned out amazing. Looked great and had fantastic flavor.

Cupcakes have certainly come into their own. I had never noticed this development, and so was pleasantly surprised at the many wonderful cupcake shops in Austin. Having given those a try, it was obvious I needed to give this little shop off 7th Street a go. Nestled a few doors down from La Familia on Foch Street, its hard to miss the colorful giant cupcake rising above the marquee out front. The inside is beautifully decorated, if a bit spare, which puts the focus nicely on the 'goods.' The selection was a little small (they had about 7 varieties when I went), but the result appears to have been that my delightful pastry got that much more personal attention. The cupcakes themselves were heavy on the frosting, the way I likes 'em! The cake was moist but firm. They were not too tall, a complaint I had about Hey Cupcake in Austin, which made them easier to eat on the go. They boxed my little treasures in a neat little container, which made the presentation of the extras I bought to my associates at work that much more dramatic! From my assistant: "Best cupcake I ever ate!" PS. - They also do cakes/cheesecakes. I've got my eye on their pumpkin cheesecake for Halloween. read more

There iced cookies are by FAR the BEST iced cookies I've had in my life. I can't be to tell you how moist and flavorful the are. My entire children love them and their friends love them. The artist baker that does the designs are the most unique I've ever seen. They are constantly changing with focus on the season with the added fun ones like emojis and always TCU! My daughters have been a fan of the unicorns and lately all the fun summer ones such as sunglasses, dolphins and starfish. Each one has a special touch added to the beautiful artwork like sugars to bring out color in just the right place. They are beautiful pieces of art that you don't want to eat but you can't resist the taste and we barely make it home before they are gone. I inquired about ordering for future parties and she assured me there wasn't a cookie cutter the didn't have and you could fully design your cookies. I could see these for showers, birthday parties, welcome neighbor gifts, business logo gifts etc. Go and try, TRUST ME you won't be disappointed and if you are like me you will never have an iced cookie from anywhere else! read more

HOW are these cookies so good?! I can usually be self controlled or don't even crave another sweet after I've had one but I literally can't stop eating these. Even 5 days later, they taste as fresh as the day I picked them up. I had them at a party last weekend and so many people commented on how good the cookies were. The owner is also very sweet and easy to work with, giving me her cell phone number so we could discuss and plan for the party. The only bad thing i have to say is that I have to drive from Dallas to Fort Worth to get them! read more

Exceptionally tasting cupcakes, cookies, and great customer service! Was able to order 60 cookies for a tcu event and they were a hit!

J Rae's is a cool spot for getting cupcakes and sugar cookies whether you're in the mood to TYS or you are hosting a celebration of some sort. Heads up: the cookies aren't cheap though! Esp if you're looking to customize. ($3.50-4.50 each I believe) A couple years back we ordered some of the sugar cookies customized to have Rangers jerseys/logo for a male coworker whose wife was expecting. They came out nicely. The location is close to my office so that's convenient. You can't miss their store with the big pink and green cupcake on top of the roof. They usually have most flavors in stock of cupcakes. I was able to order my half dozen cupcakes on a Monday and pick up the next day. However, I probably could've gotten them the day of. They'll also use the color or type of sprinkles you want on your cupcake. They also have mini cupcakes which have to be ordered in a dozen minimum. Customer service on the day of pick-up could've been a tinge better, but I'll just focus on the positives because everyone else on previous visits seem nice. J Rae's red velvet cupcakes were the icing on the cake to a birthday gathering/watch party I hosted and everyone enjoyed it...to the last crumb. (with ice cream) read more

So everything is made out of marzipan gross..even their oatmeal cookies...I mean everything, so they seem annoyed that I didn't like marzipan... I asked about the coconut cupcake and they said it didn't have any, we'll guess what the frosting did...I mean what if I was allergic to almond? Would u have killed me? I am sorry the place is cute and everything but not their customer service! Not going back sorry! read more

Sugar cookies in the hay-oooouse!!!! HEEEY!!! ZOMG. Those cookies are NOT normal. I could eat prolly 100 of them...thick, sugary, yummy buttery hard yet still soft icing. Chocolate chip cookies or perhaps a peanut butter cookie? Neither? Ok what about an oatmeal raisin or snickerdoodle cookie? Oh yea lover. Come hither. Oh and their cheesecakes? Forget it...your life will be over. I've never had one of their cupcakes, but my friend says their pretty dang delicious. Will have to put that on my to-do list. As soon as you walk into this colorful little storefront you are engulfed in the most amazeballs smells your nostrils will have ever the pleasure of smelling. The peeps that work there are ALWAYS frosting some new addition to the case or pulling something out of their enormous ovens....its all so bustling! Oh and for certain holidays...Valentines Day, Halloween, etc. The cookies are so sweetly decorated. I bought MP some undies (a cookie in the shape of a triangle decorated like a pair of naughty undies)...not actual undies. Shoosh. They also do custom orders for anything they sell....so bring a batch of these beauties to your next party! Prices are about what you would expect for a custom boutique cookie, about $4. Worth. Every. Penny. Love Love Love Love J Raes!! It sucks that I work 5 doors down....I can smell them baking. Rude. read more

Disappointed. It was that giant cupcake deco that lured us in. Darn that sign. I have such a sweet tooth and passion for baking. I'm usually not too critical of others work but I was so sad that I couldn't enjoy or finish even half the cupcake! First off, the frosting was way too crusted. It wasn't soft at all. Cake to frosting ratio was also way off. Had I have finished, I would have been knocked out by the sugar overload. I look for a homi-ness quality when purchasing baked goods. Unfortunately in this situation, I would have been better off at a supermarket chain. read more

Service - 3 Stars Food - 2 Stars Frosting - Two Sweet for Words (or Stars) Sugar is a curse invented by Mother Nature as a revenge for what we're doing to her planet. This is what she came up with to kill off the excess population. Probably in self-defense. You're a clever girl, Mother Nature. You know I can't resist sugar in its myriad enticements. I know you're going to get me someday. But even a sugar-holic like myself can sense when someone's trying to hurry along my inevitable demise. That's why I should report this place for attempted murder! Why? Because, the frosting on their cupcakes contains what surely must be a lethal dose of sugar. And that's one just one! My wife couldn't finish her half of the cupcake we brought. I did, though. And I know that I've just put another nail in my coffin. Seriously, though, it was too sweet for even my over jaded taste buds. My advise to J. Rae's is to dial down the sugar in the frosting. You'll sell more cupcakes in the long run, because your customers will live long enough to eat more than about a dozen. read more

I went in for the first time today (because the Cupcake Cottage was closed) for a cupcake with my sister. We picked up vanilla, chocolate, and coconut cupcakes (me, sister, and mom) to take home with us. I'm not sure how I finished the whole thing - the frosting was wayyyy too sweet! The cupcake wasn't bad - it had a nice texture and whatnot but the icing turned me off of it, and I usually LOVE icing. I'd also like to mention that I've never had a sugar headache but oh man. That cupcake brought on all sorts of bad feelings. Overall it tasted pretty all right, but I probably won't go back. read more
