The lettering on the cake was horrible. And I tried to reach out to the owner by email and no response. It was for an event at the hospital where I work and I didn't have any choice but to take it. So embarrassing! And the person working at the counter was very unprofessional. So sad for a family own business business. I will not go back. There's other better bakeries. Suzy cakes and Central market are much better. read more

Blue Bonnet Bakery - It was supposed to say LEADER. My boss goes. What is "Header of the year" - Bakeries Near Me - Fort Worth, Texas

I ordered a birthday cake for my sisters birthday. I brought in a picture and went over the colors I wanted and how it was to look like the picture I wasn't able to pick it up but my sister did. It was so ugly you can't believe. It was supposed to have ribbon roses in pretty colors There wasn't a rose on it and the colors were horrible. When I called about the person who took the order said she loved it. That was a lie Then she told me they decorated the way I told them. That was another lie . The cake was so expensive and I paid ahead that was my mistake Go anywhere else , they don't care about their customers just money. read more

Service was amazing! Bo was so helpful with describing cakes and answering all my questions. The chocolate cake did not taste very chocolaty, however the icing did and was great. The Italian cream cake was superb!! Highly recommend. read more

At first glance you look and go, am I in the right place? This bakery is in an old church, very comfortable vibe, friendly staff all smiles, ready to help. All of the food was fresh and made fresh daily, no frozen or premade treats here. I was on a day trip with my lady and her daughter. This place is permanently lock in my GPS. We'll be back for sure. If you're looking for something different to try, this may be the spot for you. They serve lunch as well. We did not know that or we would have ate lunch here too. Have a great day, stay safe. read more

Horrible service. Very inflexible. I've been coming here for years because I live in the neighborhood and like to support places...but today was my last time! read more

I visited Blue Bonnet Bakery with plans to try their sandwiches, sample a few baked goods, and soak in the ambiance, especially since the place is housed in a repurposed church. I love how they've preserved the church vibe. The entrance still has that "churchy" feel, the booths are made from pews, and you can even sit on the stage next to the beautiful stained glass windows. It's a very cool atmosphere. The crowd seemed to mostly be locals, which is always a good sign in my book--if the locals are there, it must be a solid spot. While many were picking up baked goods, there were plenty of people enjoying lunch as well. Since "bakery" is in their name, my expectations were high, and I wasn't disappointed. They offer a wide variety of cookies, and their cakes and pies looked absolutely tempting. We tried a good mix of cookies (more than half a dozen!) and each one tasted homemade and delicious. As for the food, it was good but not extraordinary. My husband and I both went for the half-sandwich combo. I had the chicken salad on homemade white bread with a side of vegetable soup, while he had the turkey club on homemade seven-grain bread, paired with house-made chips. It was all tasty, but nothing to write home about. I wish they offered lattes instead of just filter coffee, but that's just me loving lattes. The service, however, was fantastic. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very patient as I took my time selecting cookies. They really added to the welcoming vibe of the place. I'll definitely be back, mostly for the baked goods and excellent service. Can't wait to try even more cookies next time! read more

Lack of communication and lack delivering quality of 2 birthday cakes I spent a lot of money on. I thought I would contribute to a mom and pop place, I will never go back or recommend this bakery to any one . One girl working there was so impatient with me when I was trying to suggest alternatives when it's her job to do so for one of the birthday cake.Kroger bakery is highly recommended they always deliver good, quality affordable birthday cakes read more

I have been to Blue Bonnet Bakery several times now and ordered cakes from them several times. The place is nice and clean. There are couple tables to seat and eat at the bakery/restaurant. The service is friendly. As to why the poor review, I have placed very simply order cake with just "Happy Birthday" and person name on it and they can not fill the order on time. And like today, they did not ever start it until I get to the bakery. I hate to see what kind of disaster I would run into if I ordered a fancy design cake. Very poor customer service...need to do better! read more

They must have changed their hours. Thought they closed at 2P. Anyway, wanted something different other than my usual Chick-Fil-A. Ordered a Reuben to-go, and it was delicious! Sure beats Jason's Deli hands-down. Down to earth place with decent parking availability out back. Staff are quick to wait on patrons and will meet any reasonable accommodation. Since the bakery is in an old church, the ambience is neat. Also seemed well-run and clean. Don't miss out on Bluebonnet Baker! read more

I was so excited to try Blue Bonnet Bakery for the first time--I got the Egg Salad Sandwich with croissant bread and a side of potato salad. However, I was severely let down. The Egg Salad Sandwich and the potato salad were extremely bland. The most flavorful thing on the sandwich was the cucumber (which is saying a lot since cucumber is not a flavorful food). The potato salad was beyond bland but had a nice crunch to it. The only thing I enjoyed from my meal was the included pickle spear because it had flavor. Will not be returning. read more

We ordered a strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting, and it was FABULOUS!! Give them a try.

Nice place inside an old church - so cool to see the building put to use and Not turning down just because it's no longer serving as a church I noticed they have lunch they serve it daily they also have lots of baked items and donuts. The prices were very reasonable we got a chocolate cupcake and a large petite 4 . Both were delicious and didn't even cost five dollars! This is a great little spot to go for a dessert or even a lunch. We had already eaten lunch so we just got dessert but I intend to go back when I can try the lunch meal read more

I will forever be grateful for the person who introduced me to Blue Bonnet - it is now hands down my favorite spot in Fort Worth. I love it so much I went back for my second time 2 days later. Blue Bonnet occupies a century-old church (including pews for the seating and a stunning stained glass window!). There is plenty of parking. It is at its heart a bakery, with gorgeous (and delicious) cakes, cookies, pies, and more. But they also have a fantastic lunch menu with lots of sandwiches, a soup of the day, salads, and a kids menu. Their chicken salad is the best I've ever had. My favorite part of their lunch is the homemade chips - I have a weakness for those. You can tell the food is made from scratch. It is. So. Good. I've also had a few of their cookies and they are very good. There are SO many options. Everyone that works there is super friendly. They also have a gender-neutral restroom. I really cannot say enough positive things about Blue Bonnet. I will be a regular here! read more

Do Not Preorder a Cake, they do not know how to write it up or design it!!! I preordered a Barbie cake designed to pull a Barbie out of a cake(should be designed as a skirt cake) but the manager placed doll sitting on top of cake. Instead of admitting their mistake they blamed me for their misinterpretation of a doll being pulled out of a cake. Poor management, they need additional training when writing up an order & learn to listen to customer & find a way to make it right. Do Not Preorder a cake unless you want to be disappointed! read more

BOO ON BLUEBONNET BAKERY! Gave them a custom order earlier this week to be picked up today at noon when they said it would be ready, gave a specific photo to them then with notes written on it and went over the info with the girl that took the order, within the order timeframe they required, for a bright pink cake with some simple outline details in white. Picked it up today and it is ORANGE with off-white orangy piping and the details are wrong. The manager could not have cared less and said the decorator is gone for the day and nothing they can do about it. Told them then this is for a big event today at 5 PM. Thanks for nothing, BlueBonnet Bakery. First and last time using you and want others to realize you cannot count on them. read more

Beware!!! I went into Bluebonnet Bakery to place an order for a gender reveal cake. I specifically had the employee write down the inside color icing for the gender of baby. I ordered the cake will In advance of the special event. This event included a professional photographer, and so much more. At the event when mom and dad cut into the cake, there was NO COLORED icing in the middle to reveal the gender of the baby. I called the store the next day. The employee of Bluebonnet Bakery took a message for the owner to call. Two days later the owner of Bluebonnet Bakery never called. I called again. The owner did refund the cost of the cake. But he had ZERO remorse that the event was ruined because of his bakery not following through with specific handwritten instructions for the order. You can never get that moment back! And the now owner did not have an ounce of empathy or a solution to make it up to the parents! Think twice who you trust the details of your event with, as Bluebonnet Bakery incompetency ruined an entire event! read more

Scheduled a cake testing for my daughter's wedding. Had 6 cupcakes basically tossed in the table and was told to let them know when we were ready. No one sat with us or talked with us. An hour later we're still waiting for someone to give us a consultation. Handed them the $20 for tasting their dried cupcakes and walked out. I honestly don't see how they won the awards they have so proudly displayed in their store. The staff working seemed so uninterested in everything. Majorly bummed that I lost my afternoon here. read more

Extremely disappointed with the custom frosted cookies ordered for my daughters baptism. I talked with a very sweet lady and she wrote down exactly what I wanted which was to have the cookie say "God Bless -insert daughter's name-". I even sent the lady a photo of exactly how they were to look. When I picked up all they said were "God Bless". It's not the end of the world, but the baptism was that day and we did not have time to have them corrected. It was supposed to be special because my daughter is named after my mother who passed away 7 months ago. Again, not the end of the world as cookies don't make or break a baptism, but they weren't personalized so I feel like I could've gotten these generic cookies anywhere and for less money. I had high expectations after meeting for so long with the lady at the front and her writing down exactly what they were supposed to say only to be very disappointed. read more

4-11-23 - Updated with more photos - met 2 friends there today (needed a place where we could visit as we were coming from different areas of the Metroplex) ... only 1/3 of us got a cookie - she said it was okay (not enough toffee) ... bathroom stalls still have no latch to close the door... tea was fresh but, still wish that there were other sugar substitutes available beside Sweet N Low and Sugar ... as I approached the tea dispenser for a refill, another lady was asking for Splenda - told the girl that Sweet & Low upsets her stomach and they need more choices. read more

I will never go back to Bluebonnet Bakery. I can't believe I passed up Central Market and brought my out of town guests here instead only to be disappointed by service and quality of food. Ordered the tortilla soup that turned out to be literally tomato sauce. The bread on my sandwich was old and extra dry. When you call yourself a "bakery" please have fresh bread. Cashier did not refund my money for not having any decaf coffee. Please hire mature employees who actually care about their job. What a joke and waste of money. read more

This has been a few months but someone asked me for a referral and this transaction popped back into my mind. I ordered basic baby girl shower cookies. I gave instructions of mostly pink, types of shapes with show flakes..... 1-most cookies were dominantly GRAY with a bit of pink. 2-WAY too many snowflakes compared to baby shapes 3-packed in a large box with several breaking before the shower and I hadn't moved them hardly at all. 4-when I sent my disappointment, NO response at all Bad service, bad communication, simply didn't care about their cookies or business. Very poorly done. They seemed to have forgotten a lot in all their years in business. read more

The owner, Mike, and manager, Christina, undoubtedly have the WORST customer service skills I have ever encountered. Upon inquiring about a wedding cake order, I was surprised to hear they had availability on short notice... now I understand why they had so much availability for the weekend. What should have been an exciting and fun experience was absolutely ruined. We were met with hostility, negativity, incompetence, and disorganization from the start. To top it all off, when we called to ask questions about the order 3 days before pickup we were told that whoever took the order had not left enough details for the baker to make the cake and we had to come back in person. The owner then refused to discuss the negative experience and had the same person we had the bad experience with call us back to deal with said experience. I am astounded that a business with such poor management and incompetence has survived this long. read more

This place is great, however they take a long time to make a sandwich. I almost went to the kitchen to make it myself cause it could've been faster. So if you're in a rush to get something on the go I'd think about it. read more

Came in today for (let's be real) petit fours! And it was lunch time, so I got a sandwich and soup too. The pimiento cheese on rye-toasted was very good. I would have wished it would have been more like a grilled cheese all gooey and melted. But it wasn't, just a good old sandwich. I was also disappointed they only had potato soup today. Not my favorite, it was super rich. Really too rich for my liking. But that small little square of heaven! Lord bless them! It was perfect! So much so I ate half of the cake bf my lunch even come! Being 6 months pregnant I can see myself stopping in probably way too often... UPDATE! I decided to order two dozen petit fours for my baby shower. I emailed Lauren who was very sweet and helpful. I wanted to a monogram "S" half white and half gold. The gold ones were .50 cents more. So $1.60 and $2.10 each. When I came in Saturday to pick them up I was horrified! They looked like my 13 yr old niece did them. Not worth the price tag. The sweet girl at the counter agreed... and gave them to me half off. On to the shower... the first guest to try one spit it out saying it was horrible! I was horrified!!! And tasted one... it was awful!!! Definitely not the delish petit four I had-had a week before. I'm so glad I didn't pay full price bc I would have been really upset! Not saying I won't be back bc I will... but next time I will go in to order and make sure I'm getting the freshest cakes possible. read more

Came to Blue Bonnet Bakery with high expectations after checking their website. I was disappointed. They don't really have a great variety of pastries. Mostly cookies. We ordered turkey clubs from the lunch menu. The menu says turkey clubs come in a croissant, so I asked if I could switch for wheat toast. My friend however ordered as it is and he was actually charged extra for the croissant even though the menu says the sandwich comes in a croissant. The attendant asked us what we wanted as our sides, we got fruit. She failed to let us know sides aren't included, they are charged. Which is fine, we paid, but the way she asked she made it sound as they were included. They also don't have milk substitutes (almond, coconut, soy, etc). The food was bland, very basic. Portions were big though, but I could have made better at home. The building is pretty, but personally, I didn't like the set up. It felt like we were in a cheap cafeteria. read more

We had been right down the street at Kincaid's for a great burger and we wanted something for the sweettooth craving we had. We were on our way to downtown Fort Worth and there was what appeared to be a church? Nope a bakery. A cookie for my daughter? Yeah, that would work. You enter the place not realizing how big it is, granted most of it is hidden behind the doors to the bakery itself and the stained glass adds a bit of the surreal to it. But the smells....... wow, wow, wow. I was with my father, brother and daughter and we all saw items we wanted. My daughter wanted every cookie she saw but she settled on a simple butter cookie with icing and sprinkles, me, a chocolate fudge cupcake, my brother a red velvet cupcake and my father, a mini cherry pie. All was great, tasty, buttery, chocolatey and exactly what you would expect offers from a bakerylike this to be. This was my first time but won't be my last. I know I have two great bakeries right in Denton, but when I visit Fort Worth, I'm sure to be making future stops here. Enjoy. read more

I'm so disappointed in the quality of the cake I took the time to meet with the wedding planner. The cake was terrible looking and I was so embarrassed to take it to the baby shower. I had to find a cake decorator to try and fix it. I paid an exorbitant amount for a layer cake that fed 40 but was decorated so unprofessionally.
