This school opened in 2014. I am a parent of an MHHS student. The school is at the forefront of the…read moretraditional vs. modern methods of teaching and learning. MHHS focuses on the "flipped learning" concept where student and teachers work collaboratively in the classroom. Online learning is part of this process and it has caused much controversy. From my perspective, there is a benefit in learning from new technology. Information is distributed much more quickly and students receive the latest up-to-date information. I remember being in a private school growing up and learning from traditional textbooks published 10 years ago. I wondered as a student why I was learning out-of-date material. Fast forward to today, and I find myself appreciating this school's commitment in learning from Internet platforms. Students are issued chrome books which serve as their textbooks for the year. No textbooks are issued. Good or bad? IMO, good. I don't have to worry about my student carrying luggage to school. We just worry about two things. 1) don't lose your chrome book and 2) keep the chrome book functional The downside for some parents is simply my son or daughter is on their chrome book all day. But what is the difference if they are hovering over a textbook or chrome book? There is no negative difference! I know my child is studying. I hear parents complain about the large homework volume, but I don't get this argument. Homework is part of the deal in high school and prepares kids for college or the rigors of the military. After all, high school isn't supposed to be easy. It's supposed to prepare students for what is in front of them - post high school life! My child and MHHS students benefit from "flipped learning." I went to a prominent University in my undergrad years. Professors expect you to have the ability to function on your own -- no hand holding! Papers are submitted online. Assignments are given through class and reiterated through Internet modules. Students communicate with professors in person but largely, by email! Assignments and papers are submitted through -- guess what --- email or an online platform! This is college! MHHS prepares kids for college by forcing them to be independent learners! I love this. I know my child will go through ups and downs, but by the end of high school will be more ready for the everyday common practice of college life. I've heard complaints about teachers not doing much during class time. In the first year, some teachers would refer kids to websites when class questions came up. My child's experience is this happens minimal but I'm sure there may be a percentage of teachers who may not be engaged. My hope is all MHHS teachers are involved in the learning process and infuse enthusiasm in their class. Every class depends on the direction and enthusiasm of their teacher. As a parent, I'm able to track my kids progress through Aeries. Other schools also use Aeries (or equivalent), so MHHS is using an accepted module for parents to stay in tune with their kids grades. Mr. Rexelle's music program is top-notch! They have won awards in competitions the last two years! The sports programs are developing with girls basketball leading the way with its success in the school's first two years. The track and football field is a impressive! This school has gone through growing pains, but I strongly feel the staff in place continues to steer the school in a positive direction. I know many of the teachers and administrators. They are good, caring people. I see this school getting better and better each year. With all the people moving to Mountain House, this school will be the prominent focus of this town.

Back in 84' parents had to sleep out on the street to get into this public school. Which meant that…read morethe school attracted kids with parents who cared and teachers that wanted to teach the kids of parents that cared. This was a time when public school in Stockton was in high demand. Pops slept out there for 4 days to get me in. Somehow in 1985, sleeping on the street was deemed "unfair" and the school became a traditional public school, opened to any kid with a pulse. Now, I've seen people sleep on the street before. Waiting for concert tickets, homeless, just plain tired. Whatever the reason I have never thought to myself " That looks nice, I'd like to sleep on the street but I can't. Hey you there...yeah you..... sleeping on the street. That's "unfair" of you for being miserable and not getting a good nights sleep and although I'm unwilling to do the same I do have the time to petition the schoolboard and prevent this "unfair" practice of waiting in line for 4 days via "street sleeping" to get my kid in school." Side note: Prior to 1984 you didn't have to sleep on the street if you were a close friend of Principle Coffee who let in the his friends kids automatically. We weren't. (Fucker) After enrollment I began my first day of school. Terrible experience. Especially when Stacey Carter told me at lunch that tuna fish smelled and that I was gross. It took me 15 yrs to get back on the horse and eat some albacore. Since I wouldn't wear shoes with laces or pants that weren't sweats mom tried to compensate by putting me in a izod shirt with a collar. Which only made me look homeless. You know how homeless people sometimes have one piece of clothing thats just too nice and looks out of place when compared to the rest of their clothes. i.e. Drunken man in an unbuttoned ripped windbreaker, filthy tight jeans and bandana but has brand new polished Sperry deck shoes w/ tassels. My homeless style continued through grammer school until highschool where uniforms were mandatory. No joke. Ask Ben: http://smartestmanalive.yelp.com There are two kinds of white kids at public schools in Stockton. Those with ethnic last names and those without. Even if you were albino but had a last name like "Ramirez" you were free from beatings, harassment, name-calling and the usual rough housing. Because of course no one with an ethnic last name was considered white. (Ask Ben) http://smartestmanalive.yelp.com I was the other type of white guy. Especially during recess. Ah recess. Time for a little physical activity...outdoors...fresh air. More like a time to let all the crack babies out all at once and let them kill each other. Seriously there were skirmishes or for sake of a better word brawls everyday. Why ? Cause none of the kids brought food and the school lunch provided was so gross that I wouldn't feed it to a dog. Nothing crazier than 250 kids hungrey for food and fighting. (This was also back when public schools had dedicated smoke lounges so all the teachers would smoke a pack and half in a effort to try and kill themselves before lunch ended and we returned to class) 1990 was the best year of all due to a teachers strike. It was the usual bullshit about more money, more benefits, larger smoking lounges, free cigarettes.... blah, blah, blah. Luckily neither side could agree for 3 weeks so we got a huge jump start on summer. Yes !!! (Who else has been to the waterslides in the Costco parking lot 10 days in a row? Me.) In 4th grade we met Webster Slaugher a wide reciever for the Browns. I had absolutley no idea who he was. Turns out he not only had an awesome last name but, was a 2 time pro-bowler and and related to Ms. Wyatt, our 4th grade teacher. Then in 5th grade we had to donate out clothes for the 2nd time to Armando's family cause his dumb fuck dad burned the house down (again). This time he left hot coals in a paper bag on the carpet and went to the store. Future Darwin Award Winner huh? In sixth grade we went to Science camp. The highlight had next to nothing to do with Science. Seeing what would happen if a close friend of mine could keep a bet to not shit for the entire week was far more compeling. Turns out he kept the bet and nothing that cool happened. Seventh and eight grade was spent hoping that the glue and staples we jammed into the door locks would postpone class for at least a half hour.

The lunch food is nice and basic, but I don't like the teachers. Overall it's great for learning,…read morethe outdoors to go for recess are pretty average size.

I literally hate delta with all my heart, The staff, the teachers, the students, the whole school,…read morefirst of all the staff are always screaming at you and mr T the only somewhat cool one, second of all, no one wants to be a teacher there so they literally pick who ever offers, literally, the teachers are so bad and don't know what there talking about, let's about some of the teachers, first of all ms ramos, i can't even understand her half the time, she literally doesn't know how to teach and at this point just talks, all she does most of the time is tell us to be quiet "____ number 1 please" 24/7, now Ms huch (older) she has got to be the most disrespectful rude teacher i've ever meant, my sister told me what happened a couple days ago, so is younger huchs class she was arguing with a student and it ended with younger huch crying and then going to tell her mom (older huch) older huch comes in, i don't know the whole thing but i do know some details, she immediately says "WHAT THE F*** IS GOING ON IN HERE" then she's arguing with the student that made younger huch cry and this is some details to the argument (huch) "didn't your parents teach you some manners?!" (student) "my dad died and my moms a alcoholic" (huch) "thats why you have no manners" "your people are always like this" these are just some details not the whole in order argument, A student also asks why she cusses at students and she "" says cuz i can, uh no you can't. as you can see, older huch is so disrespectful, arguing, cussing, talking bad apon children in multiple different ways, and RACIST, in 2024?? I still don't know how she's not fired. Now to Ms. Ben Ali, I was minding my business in class doing absolutely nothing but my work in class and haven't said a single word the whole time because i hate everyone and everything in that class, then Ms. Ben Ali comes up and makes me give me my phone for no absolute reason, I haven't looked or even touched my phone the whole time, I didn't even have data at the time to even do anything on my phone. Anyways now to the students, the students are literally so mean and are a big reason on why i hate school, there's always new rumors about me, there always sliding in some mean comments when i haven't even done anything, there always saying stuff about my appearance like I didn't already know, and so much more stuff. I swear students are always doing stuff that should be taken care of and should have consequences, but they no one ever does anything, now let's also talk a little bit about dress code, yes dress code is whatever but it's the unfairness, there are some students that I will not name that are always getting favorited and never getting dress coded, and then there are some that are always getting picked on (more then just dress code) I genuinely hate that school, school is supposed to my escape from home because I hate being home, but I just feel like i'm trapped in a never ending bad loop, i really can't wait to get out of this school, the students are such bad influences too, and if you want your child to actually learn and not hate school, DONT put them in this school, Delta Sierra Middle School.
