I mean,…read morehow could you not love cutting class and walking around Lodi Lake or going to a house party during 3rd period? It's so funny to go back to Lodi during the holidays and see everyone who is still there. I thought the motto at Lodi High was, "Can't wait to get out of this town" but apparently there wasn't much follow through. My fear is that too many teens are drinking way too much b/c there's not enough to do. I knew at least 20 people who graduated as alcoholics. It's a problem that's faced students in Lodi for a long, long time, and something needs to be done about it. I thought I received an adequate education at Lodi High, but looking back it was kind of a joke. During my sophomore & junior years I had like 70 absences from cutting school, yet I maintained a 4.0 in AP/Honors classes. So, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to pass on through. But maybe things have changed? Go Flames!

Many generous supporters have allowed the school to continue to improve facilities to benefit the students. Private schools have provided a secure and structured environment for learning, we thank Annunciation School for giving our grandchildren a good base to rise from. If school transportation was offered, that probably would eliminate a lot of the unnecessary traffic that you have in front of your school on a one-way street. The sisters (all three) and staff are pretty awesome and really go out of their way to show you that they care. Our daughter is really advanced for her age and they made sure that they constantly challenged her to keep her engaged. In the 1st grade she was reading at a 5th grade level and LoMo played a big part in that. Although we had a rough patch with our son they worked with us to find a solution. We collaborated on what works and what doesn't work to correct his behavior which is rare from facilities like this. Most of them time at other facilities it plays out like this: your kid is a problem, they did X, you need to punish them to correct it, if it continues we will kick you out. Finding a solution wasn't quick or easy but together we corrected the issue while giving each other constructive feedback along the way. That is honestly why they get 5 stars. I am no pushover and can be hard to work with because I hold people accountable while being blunt. We did use another daycare in Lodi before my son was eligible to attend LoMo and the difference was obvious. LoMo is a school, other places in Lodi for this age group are daycare. They also go out of their way to put on special events for holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving whole holding lunches and breakfasts with parents. Overall they treat you like family and really care for your kids as if they were their own. What more could you ask for? Thank you for all that you've done! We will miss you!

Teachers are here because they actually like junior high kids, as does the principal, Mr. Asplund. And the big population of just 12-14 year olds means there are lots of choices for finding friends. We have appreciated the structured day and the opportunity for interesting elective classes. The kids have a very regular schedule with few surprises. They have every subject every day, including p.e. The band program and the math education have been especially strong. The few weaknesses here are really the fault of the State of California, not the school itself. The school lacks any kind of foreign language instruction, and despite building a beautiful library, the school can no longer afford a librarian. There is a strict dress code here (not a uniform) which may or may not appeal to everyone, but it serves its purpose and is easy enough to follow. Being near the campus of Lincoln High also gives the students some familiarity with the high school before starting there. Go Sierra go!

I was wondering why my son didn't want to go anymore, it's because the teachers and especially the principle don't make him want to try they are very negative and judgmental. Nothing was done when issues of racism and bullying were brought to the principal's attention. Nothing was done to make it a safe and supportive environment for children of color or kids of from lower income families. Over the years I have continued to hear stories similar to mine. The sentiment I got is that they will gladly take your money, but not care for the wellbeing of your kids nor create an environment conducive for their spiritual growth... which is the whole point of sending them to a Christian school. I do not recommend anyone enrolling their child here.
