This is laid out nicely with wide open spaces and level lots. We didn't really use any of the shared facilities this time since we're just getting started on our trip. The Front Desk staff are extremely friendly and they have a little shop in there as well for some necessities. There are a couple restaurants within walking distance, but we didn't partake this time It tends to get very windy in the afternoon and this part of the country so time your travel accordingly we saw lots of tumbleweeds They do have a kids playground as well as propane available. Not a lot of shade, but I think that's common with camping in Arizona. There is a very nice dog park area with a very large shade tree. Laundry room is fantastic. It takes credit cards only & well maintained. Bathrooms are old, but extremely well maintained and very clean. There is also a multi use community building to use for gatherings or meetings, etc. I would absolutely stay here again when traveling and visiting! very quiet nice park.

However, it broke again so back I went. The two guys who had previously helped went back to work to unlock it. They had to crawl as far as they could through the tiny crawl through space to use a tool to push the handle up to unlock it and then, once again, figured out how to fix it for good. I was so impressed with their down home knowledge and speed along with the most polite and great customer service that we don't see that often any longer. I highly recommend this business!!

We made it slowly to Sunrise and called DAVID'S RV REPAIR in Lakeside, AZ. They not only took care of our nightmare problem early the next day, but they literally met us as we pulled into their garage. David and several great guys jumped to action and repaired the dead slide-out motor and realigned it. He came out and looked at both issues then said his daughter will email me an invoice thatvI need to pay before he comes back out to fix the issues. Not sure why he didnt fix the water leak when he came out the first time, I guess he has a big van but no parts. He pre-billed me for 5 hours which I naively paid. He returned the next day and replaced the fuel filter on the generator and some pex behind the toilet. Total time spend for the 2 visits was 2 hours, and a large potion of the time was him just talking about stuff, including that I should have bought a used Prevost instead of my new Georgetown. I tried to talk to him about refunding some of the money as he only spent 2 hours working on the unit. He started claiming the industry charges a fixed hourly rate for services and he finishes faster. I advised he charged me 4 hours to replace a fuel filter, industry standard is 30 minutes. Then he claimed the extra $450 was his travel time to pick up the $20 filter that was 15 miles away. He eventually agreed to return some of my money but never did. Also, right after he left the toilet started leaking from a loose fitting. He, without looking at it, says "well you have a second leak". Was just coincidence that the pex tubing he was pulling on came loose from the toilet and caused extensive water damage. I see why he has some bad reviews and niw makes you pay up front, at least if you are traveling in the area. Use at your own risk.​

I found High Chapparral on-line and they agreed to take a look at it. I drove the short distance to their shop. They quickly diagnosed that I was losing rear transaxle fluid through the cap on the right end of the axle. They modified a gasket they had to fit my rig, got the super heavy oil needed to refill what I'd lost and even pressure-washed the area of the RV on which the fluid had gotten spattered over the miles. All in two hours' time and all at a super reasonable price. Great folks. Very skilled!

We were able to get it started with our generator, but needed someone with Rv knowledge to let us know what was wrong before we were all the way to our campsite. They had us come directly in and diagnosed the problem. It was a bad alternator. They referred us to another location that did that type of repair, assuring us that we were ok to continue on our vacation using our generator until we had time to do the repair. Spent thurs. night at a truck stop (Hopi Service Center) in Holbrook, AZ. enroute to Iowa because…read moreour Fuel pump went bad on our RV. Called AAA about 6 AM Friday morning to tow us to a shop to fix this problem. We asked about Ash Auto Safety House, the driver told us he tried to take a customer there last week & they were far too busy because school is out & they now service & repair the school buses. So the tow truck driver dropped us off Southwest Transmission, he said they'd be able to take care of the problem. After a few hours passed, we were informed they had nothing big enough to drain the gas, basically a waste of time for us. It's late Fri. afternoon, all the shops close for the weekend. Mom supposed to be to work tomorrow in Iowa. They did let us plug into a power source to keep our food from spoiling while sitting there, very much appreciated. We also just had a blowout & it tore the gauges & flow tube from the propane tank, so using it was not happening. We called a few places, no one had much interest in our problem. Although being told they were busy & out of total desperation, Mom called Ash Auto Safety House. They were more than happy to try & help. It took a while, but they located a fuel pump, asked if we could safely get it (the RV) to their shop, which we did. The part would be in on Monday, 10 am or so. Meanwhile, they let us stay in their yard, for the weekend & we were plugged into power. Thank You guys, all of you, for all your help & caring enough to give us a place to stay while waiting for the part, while no one else had the time or concern.
