Their framers and other initial work is nice and clean and even these guys even do a good job but their finishing is terrible. They don't hang doors properly, their trim work is horrible and you can see gaps everywhere and dont even get me started on the swinging doors they hung in cupboards. Their finished work is really poor and its a shame as they start of well. When you complain Robert (the owner) does not do anything other than make excuses and try's to buy time. In the past, LICC renovated our kitchen and built us a deck so when we bought our new house, there was no question what company we were going to use. This was a major project. They gutted the house, built an extension and remodeled both the downstairs and upstairs of our home. They installed a new hvac system, all new floors, light fixtures, windows and cabinets, They took down walls, built a new banister for the staircase, refaced my fireplace and built a new front door.. John helped us design the home of our dreams. He is the most amazing contractor. He handled everything. He dealt with the town for our permits, took care of electric, plumbing, hvac, installation etc. John doesn't cut corners. He was hands on from the beginning until our house was complete. He showed up and made sure everything was completed in the time frame he said it would be completed. We trust him completely. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was on point. John's crew was respectful, skilled and attentive. They answered any questions as they came up.. His office staff helped me pick out fixtures and colors and were always available to discuss my ideas for decorating my house. We are beyond happy in our home. LICC did an amazing job. Throughout, John was communicative and transparent, and his contractors were of the highest quality. And importantly for us, John understood our open concept vision from day one -- it was like he could read our minds. Among other things: * John helped us discover what was possible to do with the house. After tearing down the walls, he worked with an architect to figure out whether it was possible to vault the ceilings and how. * John pushed back on our ideas when they would have been too expensive for our budget, or overall not worth the money. He worked with us to find different, but equally gorgeous, ways to solve the same problem. * John ran a tight ship, and made clear when we had to pick out doors, materials, etc. This helped the project run on schedule (though of course there were inevitable delays with supplies due to Covid). * When some items were damaged in transit, John worked with suppliers to get replacements ASAP. * When we needed additional work done (e.g. to plan the backyard), John recommended other contractors, all of which have been professional and of high quality. * There was never any doubt how much anything would cost or when we'd be charged. When unexpected issues came up, John was clear and transparent about what our options were and worked with us to decide how to proceed. He lied about having a licensed electrician to do electrical work, it was just one of his workers who's not licensed. I paid for a dumpster and when it was delivered by tom it was already half full from another allied job and I was asked to pay the full amount of $950. Tom didn't listen to anything I said regarding the work I requested and he changed my design and did work that was cheaper for him. I was priced for one of my ceiling's to be ripped out and reinstalled with new sheetrock, Tom waited until I was away on business then he installed sheetrock on top of the bad sheetrock and told me he ripped out the old sheetrock and installed the new sheetrock, I found out when my EC cut holes to install lights and we found 2 layers of sheetrock preventing the lights from being able to be installed. Allied construction is a cheap, sneaky company who will steal your money and breach your contract. Do not hire these people Tom is a lair. Tom wore a gun in my house on his hip and told me "I use this to get paid by customer who don't want to pay". Tom left live 120v wires hanging out of the walls and ceiling, he removed a banister and didn't replace it for 3 weeks making my home very unsafe for me and my 9 year old son.

He did my roof in Kings Park and we are damn glad he did, it came out amazing and was done the right way. Tony was the only roofer who explained how he needed to remove some siding and install ice shield up the outside walls and it would take some more time to get it done. Not one other roofer even mentioned they would do this, When I asked Tony he said that's because it's the right way and we take our time to do it right. On the last day when they were almost done (2 day job)Tony did not like the look of some flashing against my brick, it was water tight but according to Tony it was not aesthetically up to his standards. Most roofers would said screw it good enough and leave but he came back the next day and completely re-did it to make it not only look 100% but function 100%. If you need a roof, siding, gutters or windows I highly recommend going with DiCostanzo his price was more Than fair for the quality of the work and attention to detail he brings to the job. Michael and his team completed a gut renovation of my Manhattan Co-op. Specifically, this included…read morecompletely redone kitchen, bathroom, closets, living space, etc. I performed an exhaustive search for the right contractor and Michael exceeded all the others by far. Here is why: 1. He has a background as an engineer and is keenly focused on precision, taking immense pride in his projects. This means everything is measured to the T and the work is tastefully done. You really want someone with a sharp eye for the details and that was evident throughout the project. For example, Michael spent an entire day taking me on tours of his other projects (with permission from his other clients of course). This way I could see his work up close and also gather ideas for my own project. I particularly liked a radiator cover I saw at one place, and Michael custom designed two for me as well. (Pics attached) 2. He has integrity and remains accountable even after the last bill is paid - also every additional cost is communicated in advance so you can approve or discuss. No surprises with Michael. For example, after the project was over, I had moved in, and Michael had moved onto another project, I noticed a small crack in the crown molding that Michael and his team had installed. This was due to the intense heat in the apartment as the radiators cranked up for the winter months, with temps exceeding 80 degrees. As soon as I let Michael know, he came back within the same week and addressed the problem at no extra charge. I thanked him for coming and he said "no need to thank me, it is our obligation." There are so many more examples and to me, that is an impressive level of integrity in a tough business, and shows how much Michael cares deeply about the outcome of his projects. 3. He is in constant communication. I am very hands-on and used WhatsApp to communicate with Michael and his team on a daily basis. For example, I couldn't be there to pick out the grout to be used in the bathroom tiling, but had an idea that I wanted it to match with the grey tile on the bathroom floor. Before purchasing and applying, Dan (Michael's son) sent me a WhatsApp message with a picture of the grout they suggested for purchase next to a sample of the tile that was used for the bathroom floor. I was able to make the decision while from my desk at work. Depending on how involved you want to be, the team definitely accommodates. This way you can view the progress on a daily basis and be involved in as many decisions as you want to be. 4. It's a family business. Michael has brought his wife (Jenny) and his son (Dan) into the business. They are a close knit team and tirelessly together to make sure the job gets done. Each of them have unique strengths that they bring to the table and, to me, this personal touch just made the experience that much better because I had the assurance that everyone was always on the same page and always communicating. 5. He takes you shopping. One Saturday, Michael took me shopping to help me decide on all of the materials. I did not have to buy on that day, but I ended up picking out almost everything because the prices at the places he brought me could not be beat, not to mention the options were plentiful. I had used Pinterest to build a concept and this helped guide me throughout the day. With Michael's help, I ended up selecting: all bathroom and kitchen tiles, subway tiles, granite countertops, kitchen sink, kitchen appliances (fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher), air conditioner, kitchen cabinets, bathroom sink and mirror). Some other things like the toilet, light fixtures and door handles I purchased off Wayfair. But it was such a relief to get the main things done.
