This is a belated review I never finished. I will be updating because now I have hired them to do a…read morecomplete demo & remodel of this said back room. Stay tuned...... Soooo I'm trying to get some minor home projects done. But my 6 day a week 60 hr schedule makes it almost impossible to get any errands or appointments done. But here's where Dom the owner of Hope Custom Builders comes in. I have a quirky basement door which is between my kitchen and back room right at the transition. I think it was an outside door at one time & the previous owners added the back room on & just made it work. But the back room floor is in desperate need of replacing. Then I realized oh crap! I need to get that door fixed before I can put the new floor down. I didn't even know what was wrong with it exactly except that I could only use a baby gate to hold it up & it's super heavy. I was constantly afraid it might snap the gate & hit me in the head while going down there. Now this is the perfect example of what seems like a simple job turns out not to be so simple. But the tenacity of Erik & Brian over 2 days they definitely banged it out. Pun intended. Awesome work & excellent service! 10-24-2021

I had that problem fixed by another contractor. Now, there's more leaks again. It destroyed my kitchen ceiling in another spot. I had a plumber look at it and they said it has to do with the shower tiling. Now I have to find another contractor to fix the shower floor and wall tiling. Find another contractor unless you want to waste your money and your time. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Can't recommend DiCostanzo Home Improvements enough! Tony the owner is a honest, hard working and…read morediligent man who pays attention to detail. He did my roof in Kings Park and we are damn glad he did, it came out amazing and was done the right way. Tony was the only roofer who explained how he needed to remove some siding and install ice shield up the outside walls and it would take some more time to get it done. Not one other roofer even mentioned they would do this, When I asked Tony he said that's because it's the right way and we take our time to do it right. On the last day when they were almost done (2 day job)Tony did not like the look of some flashing against my brick, it was water tight but according to Tony it was not aesthetically up to his standards. Most roofers would said screw it good enough and leave but he came back the next day and completely re-did it to make it not only look 100% but function 100%. If you need a roof, siding, gutters or windows I highly recommend going with DiCostanzo his price was more Than fair for the quality of the work and attention to detail he brings to the job. We would not hesitate to use him again and we will In a few years for siding and gutters.

Do not hire this contractor. Their work starts of great and they seem like they know what they are…read moredoing. Their framers and other initial work is nice and clean and even these guys even do a good job but their finishing is terrible. They don't hang doors properly, their trim work is horrible and you can see gaps everywhere and dont even get me started on the swinging doors they hung in cupboards. Their finished work is really poor and its a shame as they start of well. When you complain Robert (the owner) does not do anything other than make excuses and try's to buy time. Once he has your money he will not come back.

Michael and his team completed a gut renovation of my Manhattan Co-op. Specifically, this included…read morecompletely redone kitchen, bathroom, closets, living space, etc. I performed an exhaustive search for the right contractor and Michael exceeded all the others by far. Here is why: 1. He has a background as an engineer and is keenly focused on precision, taking immense pride in his projects. This means everything is measured to the T and the work is tastefully done. You really want someone with a sharp eye for the details and that was evident throughout the project. For example, Michael spent an entire day taking me on tours of his other projects (with permission from his other clients of course). This way I could see his work up close and also gather ideas for my own project. I particularly liked a radiator cover I saw at one place, and Michael custom designed two for me as well. (Pics attached) 2. He has integrity and remains accountable even after the last bill is paid - also every additional cost is communicated in advance so you can approve or discuss. No surprises with Michael. For example, after the project was over, I had moved in, and Michael had moved onto another project, I noticed a small crack in the crown molding that Michael and his team had installed. This was due to the intense heat in the apartment as the radiators cranked up for the winter months, with temps exceeding 80 degrees. As soon as I let Michael know, he came back within the same week and addressed the problem at no extra charge. I thanked him for coming and he said "no need to thank me, it is our obligation." There are so many more examples and to me, that is an impressive level of integrity in a tough business, and shows how much Michael cares deeply about the outcome of his projects. 3. He is in constant communication. I am very hands-on and used WhatsApp to communicate with Michael and his team on a daily basis. For example, I couldn't be there to pick out the grout to be used in the bathroom tiling, but had an idea that I wanted it to match with the grey tile on the bathroom floor. Before purchasing and applying, Dan (Michael's son) sent me a WhatsApp message with a picture of the grout they suggested for purchase next to a sample of the tile that was used for the bathroom floor. I was able to make the decision while from my desk at work. Depending on how involved you want to be, the team definitely accommodates. This way you can view the progress on a daily basis and be involved in as many decisions as you want to be. 4. It's a family business. Michael has brought his wife (Jenny) and his son (Dan) into the business. They are a close knit team and tirelessly together to make sure the job gets done. Each of them have unique strengths that they bring to the table and, to me, this personal touch just made the experience that much better because I had the assurance that everyone was always on the same page and always communicating. 5. He takes you shopping. One Saturday, Michael took me shopping to help me decide on all of the materials. I did not have to buy on that day, but I ended up picking out almost everything because the prices at the places he brought me could not be beat, not to mention the options were plentiful. I had used Pinterest to build a concept and this helped guide me throughout the day. With Michael's help, I ended up selecting: all bathroom and kitchen tiles, subway tiles, granite countertops, kitchen sink, kitchen appliances (fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher), air conditioner, kitchen cabinets, bathroom sink and mirror). Some other things like the toilet, light fixtures and door handles I purchased off Wayfair. But it was such a relief to get the main things done. So to sum things up, I was recently asked if I would do another renovation with Michael. The short answer is a resounding YES, and the long answer - read the above and see pictures attached.

After my first experience with a contractor I then asked the building which contractor they recommend and was told Hakka Contracting. I am so glad with the wonderful renovation Hakka Contracting did for my bathroom, kitchen, floors, and walls. They are very passionate about their work. I originally was only going to renovate my bathroom, kitchen, and paint my walls however they recommended that I add wood floors which I am so happy with. Their prices are great and they are honest. I highly recommend Hakka Contracting for any renovation projects you plan on doing. In addition Michael and Danny are very personable.

I am compelled to post another review on Solutions HRI because the quality of the work that Anthony…read moreprovides is excellent. In all my dealings with him he has been honest, thorough and takes pride in his work. I've worked with many contractors in the past (both commercial and residential) and I can't say enough about quality of the work that he and his staff produce . You may be considering a less expensive contractor, but I would tell you that in the end, whatever the marginal difference is in cost, you'll save yourself plenty of headache, time and money knowing that the job was done right the first time. Don't waste your time working with an unreliable or unscrupulous contractor. Anthony is honest and will not fail to deliver. He does not cut corners. He is fully licensed and maintains a clean worksite and finishes the job(s) on or ahead of schedule. I feel fortunate to have hired him for multiple jobs and to have had the privilege of working with him. Thank you Anthony!

The reviews turned out to be fairly accurate and I was glad that I chose him to be my contractor. It was refreshing to deal with a contractor who is a stand-up guy (his subcontractors said so as well which is always a good sign), provides good service (above and beyond) but also gets the job done. He and his workers did an excellent job installing flooring and painting in some rooms, redid a fireplace, and finished my garage. The work was stellar and he provided good guidance and suggestions along the way. I'm already looking to work on more projects with him.

Additionally, portions of my roof are flat and there were a couple of unexpected issues due to shortcuts taken by previous roofers. In addition to the roof, Larry saved my old shed by replacing all of the rotted wood, added a new roof and doors, and installed siding, making the shed look brand new. Larry is very accommodating and a true professional. I highly recommend AllWays Construction for all roofing and construction needs.
