I saw Dr. Heur on my first visit which was great but then with the insistence of front office staff, I saw Dr. Saavedra for my next 2 appointments. She really doesn't know anything about infants. So I would suggest to the front office staff not to insist on selecting another doctor for the patient. She told me that my newborn had a tooth in his mouth and he DID NOT! When I was having trouble with his breastfeeding, she just didn't know how to approach the problem. She suggested that I should buy size 4 of the nipples for the bottle so he would eat more. I guess her understand was that nipples are like clothing and have 12 different sizes. I did get a medium flow which my son kept coughing with all the time. While there may be good doctors at the practice, make sure she is jot forced assigned to you. read more

This is just one of the worst places. Possibly, there are way too many patients or way too many doctors but there is no feeling of continuity here and coming from La Peer Pediatrics to this awful place was a huge coming down in service and treatment. Child sick appointments take forever, the nursing staff is very unprofessional and you never know what your experience will be like from one visit to the next. Listen, this place is close, like a mile from my house but it feels like a public health clinic in an underserved urban community. That's not what I want for my children. That is why I am moving my kids to a new pediatrician's office. If you're a parent looking for a new pediatrician's office avoid this one like the plague. read more

I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. I've been coming here with my now 5 month old baby since she was born at a friend's recommendation and I have been impressed with the care at this office. Our regular doctor is Dr. Fan and she is thoughtful and gentle. The triage nurses have been very helpful and available when issues arise, and I've also had to reach out to the doctor on call a couple times and have gotten calls back promptly. Have I had to wait for the doctor sometimes? Sure, but nothing different than what I've experienced with other doctor offices in my life. I also had a billing issue and the billing office resolved it promptly. read more

Dr. Feuille and the other doctors took care of my two boys from birth until they aged out. They have great service and we always appreciated that there is a "sick" waiting room. Plenty of time was taken for exams and explaining situations. Referrals were given when needed. Kind of sad we grew out of this practice. read more

I've brought my three kids to this practice since 2003. All the doctors are wonderful and caring. Their facility is clean and cute. My son have had Dr. Henry since his birth. He is a fun loving caring doctor, so glad to have found him. We will miss him very much when my son no longer see him. Dr. Fabris is another doctor that my daughters see. She is very sweet and caring doctor. My daughters have trusted and loved her over the years. We will miss her too when they no longer see her. read more

I'm super surprised at the negative reviews. We've been coming to Glendale peds for 6 years with two kids and have had nothing but amazing experiences. We've seen nearly every doctor in their practice and had great experiences with all of them. We even keep a PPO vs a much cheaper HMO, specifically so we can keep sending our kids here. I appreciated all the doctors counsel when I had newborns - got me through some tough times. And I've referred people here who've reached out to thank me for recommending Glendale peds. Sometimes you do have to wait but I always appreciate the amount of time the docs are willing to spend with me. I've never felt rushed. Why we always have to wait more than an hour to see the doctor?? Always! My wife is inside that little room with an year old baby waiting for almost 1:30 hours. As a mother to a 7mo old, I'm VERY happy with Glendale Pediatrics. The nurses and doctors are helpful, polite and take the time to answer through my questions. I've seen Dr. Iyer, Bursch and Hartstein, and all have different personalities but are professional. I feel secure knowing that my doctors are doing their jobs when I bring my son for his check ups. I only take one star off for the waiting period in between nurses coming in to check baby's measurements and doctor coming in to do the checkup. The entire appt can take up to 1.5 hours and sometimes I have to go out of the room to make sure they didn't forget about me. Otherwise I'm satisfied with the patient care and would recommend GP to any future parent. read more

The doctors are fine, if you're lucky enough to see one. but the front desk is terrible. you will sit on the phone on hold for twenty minutes only for them to hang up on you, and then when you call back they will say they're booked up and it's your fault for not calling sooner. ("We can refer you to urgent care" is not a helpful response from my child's primary care provider). if you do get in, they quadruple book the doctors so you will always wait an hour after your appointment time to see one. if your kid is sick, that means you'll wait in your car -- yes, your car -- in a paid parking lot with a sick kid. if you make enough noise they will put you in an exam room to wait, but they'll be mean to you about it. this is a factory farm for sick children, not the office of an empathetic health care provider. the doctors should be ashamed of the way their office staff treats the families that go to their practice. read more

Dr Huer is the only reason they get a star and as a courtesy a star for the staff as they have never done anything wrong. Thats where it ends. I was late to an appointment, called right at the time I was suppose to arrive because i overslept the early AM appointment. I said I could be there in 30 mins. They said no problem we will reschedule you for 2 days later. I later recieved a $75 bill for no show that day. Im a medical provider and we never charge for a reschedule at my office. We also dont charge for parking as they charge $5 everytime. I also dont remember being warned about these fees. I started thinking about someone making min. wage and thought how that fee is disgusting as it would take them around 8hrs of work to make that $75. So, I decided that was my last visit to this money hungry clinic. It definitely follows the "Adventist way." I know the hospital was money hungry now I can add the clinics are as well! Wow. Appalling. Gave out my son's medical info without authorization to parties who weren't authorized to receive it. Racked up multiple bogus charges on my account. Arranged for them to be removed, and then they showed up again. Office Manager Cathy Murdock is EXTREMELY rude and dishonest. Even when presented with written evidence of commitments made and broken, she doesn't care and just makes sarcastic comments. I had to go to court to get the situation resolved. read more

I just read my previous review, which was 6 years ago. We saw Dr. Henry today for the first time since he saw my daughter for her very first appointment here 6 years ago. He is absolutely fantastic and my daughter loved him. He has a very special way with children. My daughter was really sick and I wanted to rule out the flu and pneumonia and without question he tested her for the flu and ruled it out and she did not have pneumonia. Just lots of mucous on her lungs. The breathing treatment he had her do showed that the albuterol helped to open up her lungs so oxygen was able to flow better. Because we were there until almost 6pm, he called the pharmacy next door and across the street to ask if they could stay open so we could come get the vortex tube that you can attach to the Inhaler making it easier to get the albuterol into her lungs. It was seriously the best $5.50 I ever spent on parking (and I hate how much they charge for parking in the parking structure). I said it in my first review, and I'll say it again, Dr. Feuille and Dr. Henry are my favorites here. They really are the best. read more

We have been going to Dr. Heur for a year now. My son is terrified of doctors and anything medical related but he has taken a liking to Dr. Heur. She is so gentle and positive. She took the time to make him feel comfortable and gained his trust. He's still scared of doctors' offices but he leaves Glendale Peds excited and will non-stop talk about his experience. read more

My son has been their patient ever since he was born. Up to the last visit, we were very happy with Dr. Fueille and his staff especially that they would see us on time and we didn't have to wait too long. However, this all changed during my son's 18 month checkup couple weeks back. Seeing that we had decided to postpone his MMR vaccine until his 3rd birthday, this did not sit well with Dr. Fueille. He questioned our position and when he saw that we were not ready to get the MMR, he immediately became visibly upset and started attacking our position and stating that people die from Measles. Well doc, I have done my research and know that since 2003, only one person has died from measles in the U.S. and her death was preventable, through ordinary medical care, according to the Washington State Department of Health. So his argument is definitely without merit. Anyway, the chances of a healthy child dying from the Measles is very very minute, almost non-existent. Our encounter ended with him basically stating that if we were ready to get the MMR vaccine in the near future, we should find another doctor as he or his practice will not longer accept us as patients. In my opinion, a doctor should do a lot of continued research, be open minded, adapt to changing times, and make an informed decision instead of being a robot and be pushed around by big pharma through the billions they spend in influencing the government, media, CDC, and other outlets. They will bill you for everything!! I had been taking my 9 month daughter here since she was born. The doctors here are good and I have been satisfied with the service. However, I will not be coming back here anymore due to their billing practices. I took my daughter here for her 6 month routine check up. Everything went well, before we left Dr. Bursch asked if we had any questions. We briefly discussed my concern with my daughter's head being a bit flat. I was reassured that it was nothing to worry about. Next thing I know I was billed for two separate office visits for the same visit. I contacted the billing office and was told that the second visit billed was in regards to my 5 minute discussion with Dr. Bursch. It was not "included" in the 6 month check up, so under the law, they are allowed to bill for a separate visit. It may be allowed under the law, but is it really good business practice to gouge your patients and bill a separate visit when you spent 5 minutes during a visit that you are already billing? I spent 2 months with the billing office guy, Angel, who said that he would forward my written request to review this billing with the main office. Despite my follow ups, no response. I decided to pay and move on and will never go back to this pediatric office. P.S. In the past I have made same day appointments in the morning because my daughter was sick. I called back within the hour to let them know that we could not make it. I was warned of a potential late cancellation charge if they could not fill the appointment. Like I said, they will find a way to charge you, don't expect any leniency. read more

I went to this group for my newborn's 1 week check up...and never went back! It's so close to my house so I really wanted to like it, but there's just no way I will take my baby back there. -waiting area was filthy and full of sick kids. The 'well child' area was just a few seats in the regular waiting room -The Dr. I saw was cold and distant and all about the numbers. My little guy was treated like a statistic instead of a patient. -The Dr. was totally judgmental about our choice not to circumcise (which is not even recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics anymore!) -When we checked out the lady at the desk was sniffling and wiped her runny nose with her bare hand then handed us the pen she'd been using. We made our next appointment with the Dr. who had visited us in the hospital. I's a long drive but worth it! read more

Finding the perfect pediatrician is almost impossible, I think. The most important aspect of choosing one for me, is your trust in them. My colleague is one of the attending pediatric intensivist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and this is where he takes his children. That should say a lot if he puts his trust in them. Most of the pediatricians here have also done their residency at Children's Hospital. That makes me feel comfortable about their knowledge of disease processes and such. Another thing that I really liked about this clinic was the different access for sick and well visits. Being stuck in a waiting room with a bunch of infectious children when your child is only coming in for vaccines just doesn't seem right. There are 7 pediatricians at the clinic, making is easy to see someone at an urgent notice if your child is sick. read more

Leaving this group as well. The doctors are all good to excellent - but the front desk staff are horrible, rude, and disorganized. 3 examples: 1) We scheduled an appointment at 9am, 3 months ago. We have the card to prove it. On arrival, they said our appointment was at 11:50am. My wife works so we couldn't stay (and she wouldn't have made that appointment at that time anyways.) Then they BILLED US for late cancellation. It's flat out insulting. (This is what prompted the yelp review - I was going to go quietly until this.) 2) They left my wife in the room for over 45 minutes after a checkup because they forgot about her. 3) Occasionally when calling during work hours (not lunch) the phone system is not set up - it goes to a voice mail that hasn't been set up to take messages (or even identify that you're calling Glendale Pediatrics.) Bottom line - no doctor is good enough to deal with this incompetent, rude staff. read more

The simple truth is that this practice is way too busy. They don't do the simplest things to ensure your child's well-being: They don't send notifications when vaccinations are due. They require you to play phone tag with a nurse who you then have to convince to see your child at all. They don't proactively offer any advice, and only react to your questions or concerns you raise. The receptionist is too busy to bother with being professional, polite, or, God forbid, kind. She acts like they are doing you a favor. Our soon-to-be-former Pediatrician was apathetic at best and clearly didn't care about our child and had no interest in forming any rapport with us whatsoever. I had no idea where to even begin looking for a pediatrician. So based on a referal I got from a woman who just had her baby, I contacted Glendale Pediatrics to set up a meeting, to see if they were right for me and my baby. Unfortunately, I never made the appointment because my baby decided to make an early appearance. But I took my little guy there when he was a week old and never thought about or considered another pediatrician. The office is located right where Glendale Adventist is. Always a plus to be near the hospital in case of any emergency, and I don't mind the drive, even though St. Joseph's is closer. There are 5 doctors on staff. All of which have seen my son , at one point or other. And all of which I've had great experiences with. They have 2 nurses on staff that phone you, if you have a question for the doctor. Or if you are unsure about anything when it comes to your child. They have 2 really clean waiting rooms, one for sick children and one for healthy children. They also take kids in the side door if they are contagious ( ie, chicken pox ). The doctors don't believe in over medicating or passing out anti-biotics just because. They are very thorough in talking to you and explaining everything to you. Very patient and kind. All the doctors work out of Glendale Adventist and St. Josephs. read more

I am a medical student who did a portion of my outpatient peds clerkship here, and I'm very happy that I did. Due to the challenge of assymetrical information, it is often difficult for parents to know if their kid's doctor is any good. However, from the perspective of a doc in training, I saw many things I was impressed with. For one, the doctors are great physical examiners, and can spot an otitis media or a likely hip dysplasia like nobody's business. While some doctors just flash a light over the eyes for half a second and call it a day, the doctors are so dedicated to screening for cataracts and retinoblastoma, they administer mydriatics (pupil dilators) before doing the babies' ophtho exam. Second, they resist the urge that many doctors have to prescribe antibiotics for what is clearly a viral infection, which may not make the parents feel as if the visit was "worthwhile," but which indicates that the doctors care about the health of the child and the overall population. Thirdly, the docs tried to educate parents, rather than just give orders, and they provided articles excerpted from "Pediatrics," the journal pediatricians themselves consult to become more informed. Even if they had a disagreement with a parent about, say, the benefits of vaccination (for which the docs are very pro), they neither hedged on their understanding of the issue nor refused to continue treating the child. They educated the parents about the data showing that vaccines are safe and effective, but followed the parents' wishes, hoping that they'd come around eventually (as some seemed to do). Fourth, the doctors were very gracious about teaching me the whole time. They don't get paid anything for teaching, so that is a good sign that they enjoy what they do, and that they are personally invested in medical education and training others to provide excellent medical care. read more

I would like to warn all parents that go here to chose another Pediatricians office. This office is incredibly rude, unprofessional, and extremely lacking in their compassion. This poor rating is especially for Brenda Hernandez at the front desk. She is suppose to be the representation of all the good and kindness this office should exemplify but instead she shows poor communication and inappropriate behavior. She should not be speaking Spanish with her coworkers while patients are present and waiting patiently to be seen by professionals. We all know some patients are there to see different physicians or just have nurse appointments for shots but this does not give staff the authority to chose who she can and cannot send in right away and discriminate. As far as the nurses go after administering vaccines should help console the crying baby and ask the parents if there is anything she can do before so neglects her duties and storms out of the room leaving the baby to cry. Where is the nurturing compassion that your nurses should naturally carry especially while working with babies and children. Very disappointed and will not be recommending any family members here. Also to mention one of the other receptionist also had stated for a parent to go and "stand in the corner" this was her wording to show how they implement their social distancing rules which came off especially sarcastic. Educate your staff on what it means to have compassion and customer service skills this does not seem to be the right fit for them. read more

We also had major billing issues Glendale Pediatrics and would not recommend. They wrongly coded our son's first visit (days after being born) as having jaundice, even though he did not. Our insurance took this as a pre-existing condition and did not cover the visit. On our next visit I spoke to the office about the mistake and they said they would have it corrected, but that I should call the billing office. After many calls to the billing department, I thought it was corrected, but I am still (2 years later) dealing with this issue. read more

We've been completely satisfied with the care this office has provided for our child. The office staff has always been professional and friendly. The nurses are helpful and it's great you can call then office and get one of the nurses to call you back for any questions, and usually within the hour. They have a separate billing department that handles all the billing and insurance payments, and they've been great with our complicated insurance arrangements. It's really great they have a full staff of qualified doctors that you can see. We usually see Dr. Bursch (he's awesome!), but we've also seen Dr. Fueille, Dr. Fan, and Dr. Heur for a handful of last minute appointments. That's one thing I really do appreciate here, you can call in for an urgent matter and they will always have a doctor that can see you that same day. We also appreciate there are separate entrances for sick and non-sick patients. The only downside is the pay parking lot, it's about $5 per visit. But guess that's a small-ish price to pay for great pediatric care. read more

I'm so glad I found this group. We've had a couple other pediatricians over the years, but we've found a permanent home here. 1) They value your time, the scheduling is well-managed to minimize delays. I appreciate the fact that they don't let latecomers mess up the schedule for others. I can tell you so many horror stories about my daughter's prior pediatrician: overbooked schedules, routine hour-long waits in cramped waiting rooms filled with sick kids, staff who were visibly stressed and gave flippant replies if parents dared ask how much longer the wait would be. That doesn't happen here (in my experience, at least) I've never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room, we generally get into an exam room within 5 minutes. In fact, I once saw a nurse here come into the waiting room and proactively apologize to another parent who had to wait longer than usual, explaining that there was an emergency that the child's doctor had to attend to, and unfortunately a backlog for his patients that day. 2) They want to keep your child well, and take common sense steps to do that. They use a separate waiting area for sick kids, and (in my experience) they usher your newborn into an exam room within minutes, in order to reduce exposure to other kids. Again, this is in contrast to our former pediatrician's office, where my premature newborn daughter was made to wait in a cramped waiting room for an hour, surrounded by kids with runny noses who like to poke newborn babies (I opted to wait in the hallway, but still...) 3) The professionalism of the doctors I've seen is top-notch. This is one area where they really shine. I usually leave the appointments with new ideas and sound recommendations, new to me even though I tend to research this stuff to death myself, and I've been through it all once before. The lactation consultant is also full of great information, very patient and helpful. 4) The office staff are friendly, and seem genuinely happy to see you and help you. I'm pretty good at picking up attitude, but I haven't detected it during my visits here. I've called a few times with questions, and a nurse always called back promptly with an answer. They were extremely helpful in getting my baby set up with bilirubin lights for jaundice, scheduling lab visits, monitoring her progress and keeping me informed, and letting me know what I needed to do to facilitate insurance reimbursement for it all. Overall my impression has been that they're professional, they know what they're doing, and their office runs efficiently. 5) Scheduling appointments is painless. Our appointments so far were easily set for the dates intended (i.e. 12 month appointment is almost exactly at 12 months, 4 year appt was a few days shy of 4 years). I love that they call the day before to remind you too. I'm very pleased with the way this office is run, and the quality of the doctors. Love these guys! read more

Doctor Henry is awesome, but their billing department is much to be desired. I think I'll be switching doctors just because I don't want to deal with that headache. I called them to make a same day appointment, then something came up and had to cancel 5min after I made the call. A month later I'm being charged a $45 dollar cancellation fee. I called them to complain and they told me they'll take the charge off as a one time courtesy, as if I was such an inconvenience to them. They also messed up my insurance info and charged an account no longer on file even though I updated their info, and called to confirm everything was taken care of. What a hassle. read more

I had this huge review planned, but after reading Tae's review... well, I don't have much to add! I agree with everything she posted. The whole staff at Glendale Pediatrics is amazing. Literally everyone. The doctors are great, the nurses are great, the front desk staff is great. But Dr. Henry is... hell, he's the best. I couldn't ask for a better doctor for my daughter, and my only regret is that he doesn't take adult patients, too. He's professional, smart, compassionate, witty, and patient, and he genuinely gives a damn about the kids in his care. Honestly, we couldn't ask for more in a pediatrician. read more

I was referred to Glendale Pediatrics by my OB/GYN while I was pregnant. My son is 10 months old now and I've been taking him here since he was born. The doctors are all amazing, the staff is very responsive and helpful, and it's always a pleasure visiting the office. I would highly recommended any of the doctors at this office. read more

UPDATE: the reception staff is still not my favorite, but I will say that since my kid has been sick on and off all winter, Glendale Peds has really come through - fitting us in at the end of the day, docs returning calls promptly, and generally solving our health problems. Dr. Henry remains our favorite; his bedside manner works particularly well with my child's personality, and Dr. Henry goes through the well child visits in a way that feels personalized rather than rote. He also explained that since the docs are all on call for newborn visits, they often run late for appointments and there is very little to be done about it, so now I am resigned to waits, which vary from 10 minutes to 45. We did have an appointment with Dr. Feuille once, and I found the experience very average (he works in the vein of an old-school pediatrician). ***** We moved to Glendale from the westside, where Larry Kagan was our pediatrician. GP is definitely a group practice, and you can tell that they are a volume business. If Kagan's practice is a Porsche, this is more like a used Lexus. Whereas Kagan would take an hour with you, the standard here is 20 minutes for an exam/well visit. And expect to wait at least 20 minutes to get into the exam room. HOW HARD IS IT TO RUN ON TIME, PEOPLE?! The front desk staff can be distant or friendly, depending on who's there. And ladies, we can see you inhaling candy and hear you gossiping through the open windows-a bit unprofessional and maybe not the best example to be setting for the kiddies. The billing lady is, however, quite friendly when it comes time to whip out the credit card for the co-pay. The doctors, of whom we've seen two, are competent and will answer your questions. Dr. Henry is especially fantastic, and he is really the only reason I will keep going back to the practice. He immediately gave my kid the flashlight to play with and diagnosed a benign issue in seconds. Dr. Iyer was just okay. Didn't really think her bedside manner was so great and her exam felt very perfunctory. Nurse assistants are okay, but again, they seem to be all business, and didn't really try to put my infant at ease before weighing/measuring/giving shots. The nurses who actually give the shots are fine; Charming is especially adorable! Really, if it weren't such a schlep and out-of-network I'd be heading to Kagan still. Oh, and they charge $10 to fill out daycare/camp forms. WTF? read more

For the very first time my son got his shots and did NOT cry! The staff are so friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I love that there are two waiting rooms, those for sick kiddies and those that aren't. Dr. Huer was very attentive and answered all of our questions and offered up some advice. We love, love, love Glendale Pediatrics!! We see Dr Hartstein, who is just so amazing! She is great with my kids (they love going to see her) and extremely knowledgable. Plus, she is genuinely likable and I love going to see her, too! ;) We have seen numerous other doctors there, as well, and they have all been wonderful. They have seen us through all of the routine ailments and have even caught things that could have easily gone unnoticed. We always feel like we are in great hands with Glendale Pediatrics. So much so that when we left Glendale and moved to Santa Clarita, I couldn't bear the thought of switching doctors... so we just make the commute! I highly recommend them! read more

I have been going to Glendale Pediatrics for 16 years now. I have 3 boys. Dr. Henry is amazing.

I have attempted to make a payment of $63 for the last few days. The office line keeps saying the office is closed during hours of operation. I got a hold one time of a woman in the business department, provided her with all information she needed and she couldn't find any info and took forever on the phone. Mind you, I am a new mom and don't have the luxury of calling an office 7x to make a payment. The woman left me on hold and when I tried to call back 3x right away she let my call go straight to voicemail again. So I still have not been able to make a payment. I prefer to pay online but their instructions make you call first to set up a patient portal. Guess, I can't do by phone or online. Horrible service from the business office. Would never recommend this group to any new moms. Not worth the hassle and frustration. read more

I have really likes this office so far. We have been through the ringer with pediatricians over the last 5 years and this office has been the best so far. The office is clean and organized and they have separate waiting areas for sick and well children (which as a parent with two children I appreciate!). The reception staff are curious and have on several accounts assisted me with healthcare billing questions. The only down sides so far in the last year we have been going is that each apt we have had to wait 30+ minutes. Not in the waiting area but in the actual room. And it is hard to get an apt (for a non emergency). I have had to call several weeks in advance in order to get an apt in any time close to when we wanted to go. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I do have a great experienced so far with all the Peds Doctor we've been seeing Glendale Pediatrics Doctor maybe almost 6-7 years all my children's goes to Glendale Peds All the Doctors are knowledgeable and when my son was 2 months old he always sick and called if he can see they always give as ASAP appointment Dr. Henry , Dr Hartsein, Dr. Fabris-Carral, Dr Heur, Dr. Iyer , Dr Fan , Dr Lee, Dr Bursch all of them they saw my kids they always at the doctors office , the staff are awesome great customer service . read more

I'm really surprised at the negative reviews of this pediatrician's office. We had a different insurance when our son was first born and were stuck with a bad pediatrician who was cold and seem annoyed when we asked questions. We switched to Glendale Pediatrics shortly after our son's first birthday. We are so glad we did! Our doctor is Dr. Jennifer Hartstein. She is genuinely caring and kind. She has such a gentle manner and treats you and your child with respect. I continue to be surprised how much time she spends with us when we have well and sick visits. I never get the feeling that she's trying to rush out. The waiting area and the exam rooms aren't the most up-to-date I have ever seen but the doctor(s) and staff I have dealt with here are great! read more
