I see a lot of reviews on here for great service as well as a few for bad service. Ive been going to Rudy for 2 ish years now, and I send my brother and grandmother there. The main reason why I go to him is because we are both in the same social club, and I like to support fellow members. They are very honest with everything, and especially with small quick fixes, they usually don't charge. especially if something takes 5 minutes to fix. They have done plenty of quick things for me in the past. I get my oil changes here, always in and out fast. I usually call ahead of time to make sure they save a spot for me, but they have plenty of space. Since I am in jersey now, I go to a local guy, but I still come here yearly for my inspection! Always do a wonderful job. I've never had any complaints about them. Rudy and all of his techs are wonderful! This is the shop to go to to get your car fixed! read more

I've been here twice and both times the guy at the counter acts like he doesn't want my business. I don't expect the upmost charm and friendliness from a mechanic but this guy is a straight up dick. I waited my turn, asked very politely but he's been very hostile towards me for no reason both times. Who knows? Maybe it's because I don't fit into the demographic of his usual customer but he was extremely condescending and rude. Think his name is Olaf. I've been using Glendale auto for years to do my inspections on all my vehicles and was always satisfied. Usually I perform my own repairs, but an injury set me back having to let others work on my vehicle. I recently has some issues on one of vehicles and let them perform the repairs, ( they do the inspections, why not. ) Well, I found out that friendly and cordial don't amount to anything when the Bill is prepared. While I understand there's overhead, I look at bill and later realize they charged me 4x's the cost for non OEM part that TYPICALLY cost under $50. Hey, I trusted them and still got served. On top of that I has to return with the same symptoms ( less the defective replacement part) 10 days later and supposedly the problem was easily remedied ( I supplied the part ). I got billed another $90. No mercy. Here's the Rub, the part that was definitely defective had nothing to do with the engine running poorly. But they were able to fix the problem the second time for 1/5 the original repair Bill. That's why shade tree mechanics hate repair shops, we know the fleece is in. read more

They left my car out in the rain with the windows open for a day. They drove it around the corner from their shop and parked it on tbe atreet with the windows wide open in the rain. When I called them - after paying over 900 for a brake job - and asked them how long they parkwd my car out in the rain withthe windows open they said, "I dunno a couple days?" When I told them what they did to my car they just said " O. um. sorry" I started going to this shop because of these Yelp reviews. So I take my SUV to another mechanic I found on Yelp. My check engine light came on Friday. Same problems from before. The vehicle would start fine, but after the fifth or sixth start, it would stall. Really rough idle. My fuel economy was horrible that week. He does a scan and quickly identifies a misfire. He gives me a thorough rundown of possible problems and recommends a full tune-up, changing the spark-plugs, etc. Quotes me a price and promises me it would ready in about 2 to 3 hours. He had just opened, it was Saturday. He gives me a call later and I head over to the shop. He instructs me to give it a test drive and I immediately feel the difference. He gives me a run down of the problem he found, inadequate spark-plugs. NGK spark-plugs were installed . He explained the engine size in my vehicle required better plugs, like Bosch Platinum+4 spark plugs. He showed me the plugs and they were really fouled. He gave me two bottles of fuel cleaners (one for water removal and the other, Techron). I paid him and I was on my way. I going to monitor the vehicle this week. So does that mean that the guys at Autotech never checked the plugs the last time I was there on MLK day? Probably. They wasted my whole day. I decided to post this to give people the heads up. I got a new Subaru, unfortunately my trusted mechanic only specializes in VW, so there a go, looking for a sea of other mechanics trying not to get robbed. I was referred to Glandale, my first impression was good, one of the main guys is incredibly friendly, the owner has a rot stuck up you know where and has major attitude. First time I took the car to get serviced for an issue with my car idling low I was quoted a $800. Fine, lets get it fixed. Came back with the same problem, the check engine came back on soon after I left the mechanic. Brought it back, "oh! This other thing went out" fine, fix it. Another visit and $3000 later, my car is still having the same problem and the engine light still on. I would suggest not going there, specially since they "specialize" in Subarus. read more

After not hearing from them went to the shop to find it was closed and my car was parked on the street . No work having been done on it . Very surprised being that we have been here before . So far, great. Been there 3 times. I was looking for a new mechanic because my previous was gouging me. Everytime I went in to my old mechanic for something minor it was never under $1,000. by the end. Last time I went in to my old mechanic, on his own he changed brand new wiper blades I had put in 2 weeks before and did a brake job without authorization (old ones were fine.) I had enough. I have to say Glendale so far is very fair and they are honest. They were recommended to me by my wife's VW mechanic who is stellar. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I Brought my car in to get serviced and came back to it being damaged. They parked my car on the street around the corner from the shop. Someone backed into it denting and scratching my bumper. All I got was "oh, we can touch that up." Now I have to spend $450-$500 for repair. Please don't go here!!!! read more

Watch out for these crooks. I took my car here and they told me it would be $900. I was surprised and asked for a breakdown of parts and labor. I went online and I found cheaper ORIGINAL parts compared to the after market parts they were giving me prices for. Some of the after market parts were as much as 50% more compared to the OEM parts. Being a relatively new car owner, I wasn't prepared for when my car needed to go in to the shop. The first place I brought the car to was awful and the price was outrageous. Glendale Auto Tech was recommended by a close friend who has been using them for years. The mechanics really know what they're doing and are very honest. My car is currently in their shop again for some exhaust work and they found a way to provide top notch service at honest prices.
