She's that good…read more I know that might sound crazy, but if you're reading this review, it probably means that you're in a situation that's no bueno with your mini me. There is a solution, and it's Kim. As first time parents, my husband and I thought we were totally prepared -- we read the books, listened to the ancedotal advice, put together somewhat of a game plan, etc. -- then our sweet daughter arrived and sleep became a relic of the past. (Honestly, the 40 week pregnant rolling around uncomfortable sleep suddenly seemed like the best sleep I'd ever gotten in my life.) So, after 15 weeks of doing the craziest things to get our little love to sleep (including, but not limited to, trying every swaddle known to mankind, building a little fort around her legs so that she wouldn't startle so easily, running in every time she dropped her pacifier, you get the picture...), we hemmed and hawed and finally called Kim 10 days before I went back to work full time. So, here's what happened: PK (Pre-Kim; a/k/a what my husband and I affectionately refer to as the "Dark Days"): Daughter slept in co-sleeper by our bed; every night we did a 10 step routine before bed and would repeat as necessary throughout the night to get her back to sleep; at 15 weeks, our little girl was waking about every 3-4 hours and couldn't nap during the day without lots of sleep props. We were exhausted and on edge. AF (After Kim; cue angels singing from heavens): after 9 days of following Kim's step-by-step instructions, our 16 week old daughter was in bed by 7 pm each night, woke 1x a night for a feed, and awoke between 6:30-7 am the next day. She now wakes up happy, plays in her crib and waits for us to come in and say good morning. Our night routine now consists of 5 steps and doesn't involve rocking, pacifying, or crying. For her one night feed, I would feed her and then put her back in the crib -- again, no rocking, pacifying or crying. (At 6 months our daughter dropped her night feed herself and now sleeps from 6:30/7:00 pm to 6:30/7:00am every day). Make no mistake, I know lots of people read Weissbluth or Ferber and sleep train their babies themselves with varying degrees of success, but Kim gave us the tools and support to sleep train our daughter with confidence -- without feeling like we were abandoning our daughter or doing irreparable harm to her psyche. Without Kim and her support, I'm not sure I would have had the intestinal fortitude to see the sleep training through. Kim is honestly the best money that I have spent thus far as a parent and, I know I shouldn't say this, but I would actually pay her more for the piece of mind and sanity that she's given me.

She was flexible with my crazy 12 hour shifts. She is very reliable and I have never had issues with having the coverage that I needed. Her prices are very reasonable for the area. Her attention to detail is amazing and she was even willing to support all of my first mom needs. We had an app and she would chart to appease my neurotic nursing nature. She helped me with getting Rhiley on a schedule and would alert me to any issues that were present with our little one. It's amazing how she keeps track of it all. I loved how much fun I could tell Rhiley had from spending a full day with Mersiha and the other kids. You could tell how much they both loved each other. And I loved how big of a smile Rhiley and Mersiha had when they would both see each in the morning or evening. My heart is broken that we are having to relocate but hopefully this is a see you later and not a goodbye. We miss her already and wish that we could take her with us! I want to make time to review Banner however because it has been a huge part of our lives over the past 5 years. My daughter started there when she was 2 and went through the older 2's class, preschool and pre-k. My son is still there and started in the younger 2's class, then preschool and now pre-k. Next year my youngest will start in the younger 2's class so we have at least 3 more years ahead of us. We don't live extremely close to the school, we live much closer to other preschools in the area but chose Banner and have stuck with Banner for a number of reasons. My kids and myself have made great friends here. Not just other parents, but the teachers and directors who become part of your daily lives and also care greatly for your children and you. There truly is a strong sense of community in the school. The teachers and new directors all go out of there way to make school a fun place where learning can take place. My goals for my children in preschool were to learn how to make and sustain friendships and act appropriately in the classroom. Learning about things like numbers, letters, the world, music, art, science, etc... are all just added bonuses to me but my children have learned an abundance of new things. My oldest two who have gone through the classroom are very different kids, however they each have had wonderful experiences at Banner and enjoy school so much. The teachers truly try to individualize lessons for each child after learning their strengths and challenges. There is constant communication on how things are going in the classroom and the best things to do to carryover life lessons at home. If you are searching for preschools in the area I encourage you to call the directors, Chrisine and Alex and talk to them about this wonderful school. If you had the chance to observe outdoor playtime or class time you would see how there really is such love and respect between all the kids and the teachers. The teachers at Tiny Tot go above and beyond. As a working mom, I felt nervous my child would miss hours of TLC, but the care and love and attention she is given makes me completely at ease when I drop her off and head to work. She starts the day with breakfast at 8:30 am, then goes outside to play on their wonderful outside area complete with slides, play sets, riding cars, train, and all things fun for toddlers. She comes in for reading, singing, coloring, painting, then on to lunch and nap time. The kids receive their own nap time bed roll we wash and bring home on Friday and return to school Monday. After naps, it's back outside for more play and then in for snack time. All of the food is so healthy and prepared fresh at Tiny Tot. My favorite breakfast is pancakes and sausage, or when they bake fresh biscuits. Smells Outstanding! My daughter loves fresh yogurt parfaits for breakfast and taco lunches at Tiny Tot. My daughter had a dairy allergy and they were so wonderful about accommodating her. I brought her soy milk every week and they refrigerated it and served it to her. You need to meet the staff and see how kind and genuine they are. Safety for the kids is their top priority. I leave her around 8:30 and return some times close to 6pm. Her day is full of activity, then rest, fresh food, music class, dance, yoga, the reading bus, show n share....she is exposed to so much! The ABC's, 123's, writing, science, geography, basic math, all academics are learned daily. They even bake! I am amazed at all she can do by age 4 Thanks to Tiny Tot Teachers. My daughter is the most socialized little girl. This is a direct result of her time at Tiny Tot with Miss Becky, Miss Bonnie, Miss Ava, Miss Sarah, Miss Maggie and Miss Kathleen. She learns to share with her friends, wait her turn, be kind, how to ask for her needs to be met independently, how to be helpful, and how to be her own shining star without me doing things for her. I can go on and on, Choir Concerts, Family Potluck Night, Cultural Night, Field Trips, Santa & Easter Bunny Visits, Surprise Guest Speakers..... My suggestion is to call Tiny Tot and schedule an interview with Bonnie. She will answer all of your questions and schedule a visit with you and your child to tour Tiny Tot. From one parent to another, I know you will find a safe home and loving family there. Being a working parent is so hard, and Tiny Tot makes those hours go by with ease. About us: Hard working blue collar parents of 2 kids and one more on the way in July 2022. Our daughter attended Goddard Deerfield for over 1 year and we initially enrolled our son to start in August of 2022. Problems: The owners of this location, Jane and Genia, consider your child a walking dollar sign and nothing else. They will put the economics of getting every dollar out of you rather than creating a safe environment for your child or respecting any of your parental concerns. The situation and response: Goddard's AC system had broken during a 90+ degree week. Goddard has no extra classrooms so their response was to have the children in the classroom at that temperature for 30-40 mins at a time. We decided to not send our daughter to school until the AC situation was fixed due to extreme heat and ventilation issues that could lead to spread of COVID (my wife is currently pregnant with a high risk pregnancy). The AC repair took over 9 days and no surprise, there was a COVID case in the classroom during this time. This left our daughter out of school where we had to pay for additional childcare for 2 weeks. We reached out to the owners for a credit of our tuition for the time and that is when Jane's true colors showed. Over a phone call a screaming and angry Jane claimed: -"AC breaking is an Act of God and that they had to pay $5,000 to repair it so they are not liable." -"It builds character for children to be in that heat because life isn't always perfect" -When I told her again that my wife was pregnant and our own doctor said this an unneeded risk. Jane claimed "COVID is overblown and it's just an excuse now. My sister in law had COVID during her pregnancy and was fine, so your wife shouldn't be worried" We were so shocked by this response. After that last bizarre call, my wife had a 1-1 in person conversation where Jane took ownership of the things she said but the damage had been done. We knew our daughter would not be safe in their hands and that ownership would potentially target our children. Even worse ownership behavior: Our daughter stopped attending Goddard in June and our son was enrolled for upcoming August start - we asked what the process is for terminating enrollment and how we would receive our refund of enrollment fees and they took that as an opportunity to immediately cancel his enrollment, keep the enrollment fees, and take money from another family to fill his spot. Not only did they not return the money, they cancelled his enrollment and filled his spot in a breach of their own enrollment document/parent handbook. We now have to consult a legal expert to recoup our fees. I am a small business owner myself and would never ever target or leave a negative review unless it was 100% necessary to warn others. There are other schools in the area that will look after your child, look elsewhere. During the last few months of dealing with Goddard I felt like a failure of a parent to have not seen the other red flags and cannot believe I allowed my child to be in the care of Goddard Deerfield. The worst part of it all is that this is all I know about, what about all the other things that may have happened while my daughter attended school here that owners with this character may have put their own business in front of my child or any child? If you think maybe this is a one off situation and your child could be okay, Google search "Goddard Deerfield Indeed reviews" to see how their own teachers review the school.
