About us: Hard working blue collar parents of 2 kids and one more on the way in July 2022. Our daughter attended Goddard Deerfield for over 1 year and we initially enrolled our son to start in August of 2022. Problems: The owners of this location, Jane and Genia, consider your child a walking dollar sign and nothing else. They will put the economics of getting every dollar out of you rather than creating a safe environment for your child or respecting any of your parental concerns. The situation and response: Goddard's AC system had broken during a 90+ degree week. Goddard has no extra classrooms so their response was to have the children in the classroom at that temperature for 30-40 mins at a time. We decided to not send our daughter to school until the AC situation was fixed due to extreme heat and ventilation issues that could lead to spread of COVID (my wife is currently pregnant with a high risk pregnancy). The AC repair took over 9 days and no surprise, there was a COVID case in the classroom during this time. This left our daughter out of school where we had to pay for additional childcare for 2 weeks. We reached out to the owners for a credit of our tuition for the time and that is when Jane's true colors showed. Over a phone call a screaming and angry Jane claimed: -"AC breaking is an Act of God and that they had to pay $5,000 to repair it so they are not liable." -"It builds character for children to be in that heat because life isn't always perfect" -When I told her again that my wife was pregnant and our own doctor said this an unneeded risk. Jane claimed "COVID is overblown and it's just an excuse now. My sister in law had COVID during her pregnancy and was fine, so your wife shouldn't be worried" We were so shocked by this response. After that last bizarre call, my wife had a 1-1 in person conversation where Jane took ownership of the things she said but the damage had been done. We knew our daughter would not be safe in their hands and that ownership would potentially target our children. Even worse ownership behavior: Our daughter stopped attending Goddard in June and our son was enrolled for upcoming August start - we asked what the process is for terminating enrollment and how we would receive our refund of enrollment fees and they took that as an opportunity to immediately cancel his enrollment, keep the enrollment fees, and take money from another family to fill his spot. Not only did they not return the money, they cancelled his enrollment and filled his spot in a breach of their own enrollment document/parent handbook. We now have to consult a legal expert to recoup our fees. I am a small business owner myself and would never ever target or leave a negative review unless it was 100% necessary to warn others. There are other schools in the area that will look after your child, look elsewhere. During the last few months of dealing with Goddard I felt like a failure of a parent to have not seen the other red flags and cannot believe I allowed my child to be in the care of Goddard Deerfield. The worst part of it all is that this is all I know about, what about all the other things that may have happened while my daughter attended school here that owners with this character may have put their own business in front of my child or any child? If you think maybe this is a one off situation and your child could be okay, Google search "Goddard Deerfield Indeed reviews" to see how their own teachers review the school. They've switched to an all-organic food service, which while I don't really care about organic food, it seems like its better quality and tastier selections for the kiddos. They are also doing a lot to improve the center with new playground equipment and materials for the rooms. The prices are a little higher than some other options in the area but for me its one of those "you get what you pay for" type of situations, so its worth it.

We have built long-lasting friendships that have survived different elementary schools and activities due to the tight bond the children built while at AMT. The same teachers that welcomed our oldest child when we first started so many years ago are the same teachers that are seeing our youngest child off to kindergarten at the end of this year. The consistency of staffing and lack of turnover are truly unique and it is one of the primary factors that led us to AMT in the first place (and we have not been disappointed!). There will be many tears shed by multiple members of our family when our last child graduates and we move on from this phenomenal, nurturing, home-away-from-home that has been so instrumental in the development of who our children have become. We are eternally grateful for the incredible staff and administration at AMT who have made the lives of these two working parents so much easier and less stressful knowing our children are in the most capable and loving care while away from us.

We've sent all three of our kids to Busy Bees and couldn't be happier with that decision. The Montessori instruction fosters independence and confidence in kids. People are constantly amazed at the things my kids can do -- like putting on their coats, feeding themselves, focusing on tasks, etc. -- at a young age. We currently work with Elda and Gisel in the Eggs classroom, and these two teachers and their aides could not be more devoted to the children they work with. They clearly love each child, and know them very, very well. I also appreciate Busy Bees' willingness to communicate and partner with parents. As much as Busy Bees has been instructive for my kids, I've also learned a lot from the Montessori method they employ and the caring, fantastic staff they hire. We are so grateful for this wonderful little school!

My son attended there for two months at the end of 2020 in the toddler room. The teachers and directors are absolutely amazing. They have an app to get constant updates and photos/videos and they all have been very accommodating to certain needs I had in order to support the work being done with my son's speech therapist and nutritionist. They also take Covid-19 very seriously. They don't allow anyone but the children inside the building(pickup/drop off is done on the porch), teachers and students over two always wears masks(and parents have to wear masks at pickup/drop off), they take the temp of the children and parents at drop off, and every day when I would pick up my son I could see teachers/aids through the window in the door cleaning/sanitizing toys. Also, the few times they did have a potential threat they closed the school for a week, longer in the rooms where the threat occurred, and had professional sanitizing done in the entire facility. Yes, it was a pain to go without childcare for a week or two but we didn't have to pay for that time and I personally think it is worth it for the safety of my family. However, in December my son was suddenly diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. In fact, it was the detailed reports from Kindercare about my son's urine output and behavior change that helped us determine something was wrong and led to the discovery that he has a tumor in his bladder. Being non-verbal at almost two we may not have discovered it as soon without their thorough attentiveness and feedback. Needless to say this was a very emotional and stressful time for our family and the angel of a director started a meal train, as well as working with the staff and families to put together a giant gift basket of toys and snacks for my son. The outpouring of support from the staff and the other families(who didn't even know us) has been absolutely overwhelming, in the best way possible. Just writing this brings tears to my eyes. We had only been with them for a few months, but we were already a part of the family. They held our spot, at no charge, and now that we have a grasp on handling his cancer treatments, we will be returning later this month. They are letting him return to the toddler room, even though he has since turned 2, because it's familiar and he's a bit out of sorts right now from everything he's going through. They will wait to move him to the 2 year old room until he gets comfortable being back. In the short time my son was there last year his language and social development increased DRAMATICALLY. He's still non-verbal, but before we had to take a leave of absence he was so close to talking I could taste it!!!! I can't wait to get him back there as soon as possible.
