This is a budget hotel in Galway, not a hostel and not a very classy hotel so it's a basic one and as you can expect, it's fairly basic. As the amount of tourists are ever growing in Ireland, in my research many hostels and shared accommodation had whooping high prices and I ended up resorting to this hotel as I needed a room for 3 people, with a private toilet and a parking spot, at a reasonable price.
The outside of the hotel is quite impressive. People were never in the reception and the phone didn't work in the room (to call to reception).
The room was nice enough with a comfy big double bed and a single one. I love the fact that in Irish hotels you can be sure you'll get a small kettle and a few coffee and tea packets in the room (yay!).
There was a very tiny tv in the upper corner of the room and I couldn't even read what was on the telly very well and there were only 3 channels working (I don't care much for that but if you do, you should know). I heard people complaining about the noise level as the hotel is located in the middle of a main road but this didn't bother me as I'm a heavy sleeper.
The toilet was good, they provided towels and the shower gel was great (that week I had been to another "hotel" which didn't even provide shower gel inside the shower!).
The room was very warm and Irish people could easily collapse in there as it felt like the heather was full on somehow.
As I said the hotel is basic so I didn't see any gym or break out space and I basically just crashed, used the wifi and left.
For the price that I paid tho, breakfast should've been included in the rate, which wasn't.
The thing that added a star to my review was the attentiveness of the female receptionist. My dad's ID fell off behind the bed and we couldn't find it anywhere. Through my reservations's name she found me online and asked for my address to send me his id (I appreciate, Wanessa). read more
