I'm sorry to see the earlier poor reviews. Glass has been treating my trees for a number of years quite successfully. Here's my story. I have a number of large Birch trees around my home, a very large one in the Southwest corner, a group on the western exposure and a rather large one on the east side. The group on the West & Southwest exposures provide much needed Summer shade. Since my house was built in 1907 and has no insulation. All my trees started to wilt and die off. I called a very well known tree company. After they cut the dead branches off they informed me that the trees were being attacked by the Brown Birch Borer. The most valued tree on the corner was declared a loss by them. I refused to give up and did my research. I contacted Glass and they claimed to have a solution; injecting the trees with an insecticide that would kill the larvae of the borer. Having nothing to lose I hired them. It was a bit pricey to me and I waited for results that did take a few seasons. Glass also did a fertilizer soak on all my trees and shrubs. The final results are amazing. All the trees became healthy and quite large to the extent that I called the original arborist to trim the trees. They were quite silent when I pointed out that my trees were not only saved but thriving. These treatments occur once a year and are well worth it. My home has shade on 3 sides during all the warms months. This also adds value to my home. Thank you. read more

A man in a hazmat suit showed up out of the blue on my property and without any authorization, or even confirmation that he is at the right address proceeded to spray my garden trees and bushes out of a garden hose - full blast. I don't have an account with the company, plus my husband has cancer so we don't use any type of chemicals in the garden or in the house. We do have a Pest Control service, quarterly - they do take care only of the exterior perimeter of the house, and they do come to the front door to let us know they have arrived. Our mature flowering trees, bushes, and plants, have never been sprayed with any chemicals whatsoever - on purpose! I am beside myself! He just walked onto my property , even though it says private property do not enter - and without talking to me without making sure here is that the right address he just started spraying chemicals everywhere ! How is it possible? Don't these people have a map? Why are they not checking which address they are at?! What kind of people are you hiring...... who don't know how to use a Google map on their phone?! The dude in a hazmat-suit quoted a different address when I interrupted his spraying. It is down the street, not even on my street address, down the street -two blocks! What I do not understand is - if you've never been to the property you are about to service by spraying chemicals ... why not let the home owners know you are there ready to start?! We hired them to spray our dogwood tree. The spray stunted the Spring blooms. I called to express our unhappiness, and they said it was probably because we had a wet Spring. Well, we actually had a very dry Spring. The next time they sprayed, it stunted the leaves on about half the tree. I called, and again they said it was probably because we had a wet Spring. Still not true. The fact that they essentially repeated the same excuse leads me to believe that they get a lot of calls from dissatisfied customers and have memorized their excuse. Maybe not, but in any case, they damaged our tree. I think it will survive, but it's not okay. read more

I had a horrible, sexist, and almost unbelievable experience with Mel at Glass Tree Care in August 2019!! I never bother to write negative reviews, but I had no choice this time. I had received an automated message from Glass noting they were coming out to spray my trees this morning, so I called because I had not agreed to this, and I was still waiting for an estimate. Mel answered and told me, "We don't give written bids." So I asked if I could just get an estimate over the phone, and Mel said and I quote, "yeah, we don't do that and I don't have your estimate. Most people are really busy and not sitting around at home all day." Oh my gosh!!! Did he really just say that???? I am TOTALLY DISGUSTED!!! This company is very difficult to work with. I asked about their natural solutions that they advertise and he said "nothing is natural, it's all chemicals. If it isn't chemicals then it wont work." Then I wanted to get an estimate on some moss control and we made an appointment and he never showed up. So when I called to say I was upset that I sat home waiting and nobody showed up, he screamed at me and of course this was my fault too. Then I called to be sure they knew they were doing the front yard only and again he yelled at me and said he knew what to do but then I actually got him to look it up and it said "front and back yard".....so not a very good experience for me. And my landscaper said they once sprayed the wrong item on a customers lawn and killed the entire lawn right before a wedding. You decide! read more

My experience with this company was entirely positive. I called them on a Monday based on a tree trimmer's referral because I have birch trees and, apparently, birch trees in this area are dying from a beetle infestation. I thought my trees looked okay (birch trees are a bit messy anyway). I explained this Mel on the phone and he explained the problem in this area. He said someone needed to look at my trees to estimate any cost to address a problem. The only questions he asked were my address and whether I needed to be home when they came out. I happened to be at the house when another person arrived that same day to inspect the trees. That person said my trees didn't look like they were damaged but suggested a treatment annually to prevent the problem. The last thing I wanted was two big dead birch trees in my yard and their quote sounded fair. He had measured the trees before quoting a price. We discussed risk from chemicals on the ground to the cat and dog and he said someone would be out. After a notification call the day before, a third person showed up Friday of the same week and sprayed the treatment on the ground around the trees. (A higher cost treatment injecting the trees was available for serious damage.) The cost was the same amount as the quote and the worker took a check for the services and left. In my dealings with Glass Tree Service they were courteous, timely and entirely professional. I intend to call them annually to repeat the treatment to avoid the potential serious problem. read more
