Last weekend me and a few friends went to check out Glass Panda Asian Street Food for my birthday. Here's how my experience started. From first look this place looks pretty cool from the outside to the inside. The pictures and painted walls were esthetically pleasing. I could see many people taking photos all around that place. Even the bathroom had a cool Panda picture on it. We were also informed by staff that there is a lot more to be done there. Of course we ordered tons of food but I will only be speaking on what I ate there. Let's start with the Korean Corndogs. I got one regular and the other one covered in blue Takis. The regular one was good, hot, and crunchy. They don't really look like traditional Korean Corndogs so visually they don't look good at all I would definitely recommend them do it the traditional way if possible. However the way they stack it is great. How most K-Dogs are done you have the cheese at the top and the hotdog at the bottom. Here they do cheese meat cheese meat like a kabob and to me that's how all K-dogs should be. I definitely preferred the original one over the Taki one. The OG gets an 8/10 and the Taki one a 7/10. The scores would be higher for both but I knocked a point for the presentation and the Taki one didn't taste like Taki at all and in my opinion I would have used hot cheetos instead. I also tried the Korean Fried Chicken nuggets and those were really good. The flavor was there and so was the crunch and that juicy chicken. Highly recommend these (they also have regular KFC drumstix/legs). 8.5/10 Next up the Bulgogi Bao. The buns were super soft like pillows which was a great start. The meat itself was good but could have been just a bit more tender. When you eat bulgogi beef it should nearly melt in your mouth. With that said whatever the sauce that was used was a bit salty but not inedible. I also would have preferred a cold slaw in there besides lettuce to help cut the salt with the sauce. That sweetness of the slaw would have made a huge difference. 6.8/10 Everything else that was ordered according to my friends was well received and we all left with empty plates and only 1 Togo box. Final thoughts: I will definitely come back here to eat again no question. I would love to see takoyaki added to the menu as well as some street food dessert items I could name a few. But this place was great. The staff was awesome and took time out to speak with us and gave great back story about the restaurant as well as some great recommendations. The drink menu is awesome to with lots to choose from, from milk tea all the way to alcohol. Service alone was 10/10 great staff. Decor was 9.5/10. If you have not been here yet please go check this place out. I'm already ready to go back!

Excellent customer service from the staff during my first visit. When I wasn't pleased with what I originally ordered the manager made sure that I left satisfied with a different mindset and new food to enjoy. They are very perceptive to comments and concerns since they're a new restaurant. I ended up receiving the pork ramen which is delicious. The broth is so flavorful. I can definitely see the restaurant getting better as it gets older and will be back!

We stopped in during the soft opening and it was not overly crowded. The vibe is somewhat trendy and casual. It is about half self serve-meaning you order and pay on your phone and grab your own drink, they do have servers who will bring your food out and help with any concerns. Great place for kiddos to keep entertained. A small patio is off to the side so your group can also spread out. They have some small growing pains to work out with the ordering, food timing etc. but they asked for honest feedback which shows willingness to grow and improve!! Pricing is very reasonable.

This place just opened and it fills the void in the area for Asian food option. It self-describes itself as a "Asian Street Food". To me the dishes are less street food and more fusion style. There are some interesting options and are mostly Japanese and Korean influences. You can order and pay directly from your phone so personal service is minimal. The ambiance is modern and clean. I tried the Kimcheese burger. It was good combination of two patties, lettuce, tomato, and pimento cheese. The Asian influence was minimal, but it was good nonetheless. My wife had the Pork Tonkotsu ramen. It was good, but the cardboard bowl and plastic spoon didn't work well. Eating it was awkward because the bowl was too deep and spoon too small. Little things like that make a difference. The worker told us that they Just opened and will tweak the menu as they determine what works best.

The food was good. The service was great. I believe Angie was our server Spoke with the owner for a few minutes. He is a friendly guy. Nice ambiance. My wife loved the KFC. She said Colonel Sanders is in trouble. I loved the Asian Chicken Sandwich. The chips are average. They made need to go with french fries or bagged chips for a better experience. My youngest daughter liked the Kimcheese burger. The K-Dog was a very good appetizer we shared it as a family. We got it Hot Cheeto Style. The milk teas and fruit teas we tried were good! This burger had a lot of flavor. We also had the Korean fried chicken it was also delicious. Very kool ordering system here. Service was great. My beer was loop warm. I recommend this place it's tucked away in a great area with tons of other food options.

The ramen noodles were the best I've ever had. The chef came out explained how he made the broth. The whole experience was a chef's kiss.

We loved all the food we had. The waiter free restaurant is new to me but very easy to navigate. The boba alcoholic drinks were tasty! We had the gyoza, the k dog, the kimcheese Mac, and the nuggies. I love the street food focus. The owner came by and talked with us and he's very friendly! I can't wait to go back and try more of the options!

I have been looking forward to Glass Panda for a long time since Birmingham is lacking Korean style food options. Glass panda did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and the restaurant seemed like it would also be a fun place to eat and hang at night. The food was reasonably priced and tasted really great. Everything we ordered came out quick and we couldn't decide what our favorite was. If you're with a group the food is easy to share! I will definitely be going back

We got the K-dog, gyoza, Asian chicken sandwich, & the Bao buns. The food was alright, but the service was very slow. However, the atmosphere was cozy and the staff very kind and apologetic about the whole thing. Hopefully, since they're so new, when they get the kinks worked out, that will be better.

I have never had food to taste so bland. Although it was hot and fresh it lacked flavor to be Asian food. I order the chicken nuggies and the breading had zero flavor, all I tasted was the sweet garlic soy sauce. The meat was a little chewy but that could be because they use breast meat. 0/10. I also ordered a small fried rice. It looked so good but it was another let down with flavor. All I smelled was garlic, no salt, zero spice and flavor. I had looked forward to this place but I was totally let down and wasted my money. I will be calling to speak to a manager today.

But I think it's great that they have a place like this here. So, the menu is limited, but it is great for a novice hot pot customer because they won't be overwhelmed. There is only one type of noodles you can get (glass noodles), and only a few selections of red meat and vegetables. But hey, I won't complain, because you can't get it elsewhere. The meat I received were super fatty. There were some when the fat was around 80% of the meat itself. Veggies were good! They have a bar of sauces and other foods you can get and add to your hot pot. Broth was fine, it wasn't anything particular to rave about. The service was great - people were so friendly and nice. They tended to us pretty well. The ambience was really cool! They have screens around the restaurant that play K-pop music videos, which was a super cool touch. 5/5 for the ambience.

Dish #1: Xiaolongbao, XLB, or as Mr. Chen's calls it: A5. Small steamed bun (pork with vegetable) I love these things. Sweet, juicy, soupy, I just wish they came with black vinegar sauce as their sauce is sweeter than I expect. Dish #2: A4. Pan-Fried dumpling (chicken with vegetable). We exclusively get them pan fried not steamed, the pan fried in my son's opinion are eye-rolling good while he will not even touch the steamed ones. I get these everytime since he is addicted to them and asks for them once a week. Dish #3: Cumin Lamb. I love lamb, but even if you are not a fan of gamey flavors, you may still enjoy this dish. The meat is sweet and flavorful with very little game. This has become a frequent purchase. Dish #4: SP.2 Boiled fish in szechuan special pepper. My wife loves this dish due to the peppercorn numbing effects. I love this dish for the flavor of the fish. I only wish this was spicy with a thick layer of hot pepper oil ontop, but my wife perfers it exactly as it comes. P.S. If you get this delivered, be careful, although they bag it twice, there is likely a lot of soup that has spilled into the inner bag. Dish #5: SP. 3 Boiled fish in hot oil. So due to the lack of spice I desired in Dish 4, I tried the fish in hot oil. I really enjoyed this dish, however there is less broth and they did not keep the peppercorns. Someday in the future I will probably end up mixing SP 2 and SP 3 getting the hot spicy oil I want with the peppercorn numbing. I do not know why they do not have both in one dish. Will make another post about that if it goes well. Dish #6: SP. 9. Hot & Numbing style tofu. This mapo tofu is pretty good! I enjoy the spice, though I feel like it should be even spicier. It is always a toss between this or the lamb. Overall Mr. Chen will remain my local dealer of spicy Chinese food and dumplings.

The broth was very flavorful, and for once, this bowl was huge, so well-worth it. The atmosphere in the place is clean, modern, and comfortable. The service was what really stood out to me: Upon entering, I was greeted and the staff regularly checked on me to see if I needed anything. They even refilled my drink before it was empty, which I appreciated since I like sipping on soda while I eat. Because the portion size was so big, they even packed my leftovers into a to-go box for me, so that was nice. The food tasted really authentic. Somehow yes again. Walking in feels like the culinary version of a personality test having a nervous breakdown. The good news is the sushi side of this identity crisis absolutely works. The specialty rolls were creative without crossing into "we put Hot Cheetos and gummy bears on this one" territory. Big flavors, fresh ingredients, and combinations that actually made sense. The nigiri was also excellent. Fresh fish, nicely sliced, clean flavor. No complaints there at all. Then the ramen arrived and apparently the seasoning chef had already gone home for the evening. The broth tasted like somebody whispered "tonkotsu" into a pot of warm water and hoped for the best. It desperately needed salt, MSG, anything that would make it wake up and realize it had responsibilities. Not offensive. Just aggressively average. And then there was the atmosphere. Now to be fair, this was not the restaurant's fault. They got ambushed by what appeared to be an entire youth baseball league celebrating the end of the season. Imagine trying to enjoy sushi while sitting inside a Chuck E. Cheese hostage situation. Kids running everywhere. Screaming. Yelling. One child may have briefly achieved low Earth orbit near the hostess stand. Meanwhile the parents reacted to this chaos the same way people react to a car alarm in a parking lot. Complete indifference. The staff honestly handled it as well as they could. Tuesday is apparently kids special night, so consider this less of a complaint and more of a public service announcement. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, maybe don't roll in during Little League victory parade hours. That said, the sushi was good enough and the restaurant handled the chaos with enough grace that I'm rounding up to four stars. Just know what you're walking into. Come for the sushi. Lower expectations slightly for the ramen. And maybe bring noise-canceling headphones if it's Tuesday night.
