Second - the pizza is freaking delicious. The crust on this pizza is something I have never experienced. We had the Pesto chicken. To die for! (PM Dawn reference) Beer selection along with wine- top shelf. Third- the dude behind the counter run the show without the show. They get you what you need and let you be. You wanna watch Tommy Boy on VHS, you may! Side note: Thank you for the two customers who came in to get their pizza: (1) pajama beer in hand guy- you rocked it. (2) summer dude in sandals and shorts, must be from Idaho. (it's 39 degrees) GO TO CRUSTYS!

The cheesy garlic bread was a miss though. All of us had one bite and didn't eat any more. Heavy on the garlic with garlic chunks. And we didn't really like it. But can't put a finger on why we didn't like it. The atmosphere is awesome and low key, but not a lot of room to really sit (since it is a crowded place for us tourists). So we ordered it to go and just ate at our cabin. We tried to go earlier in the week and was told 1 hr wait to get our pizza and we left, made sure to call ahead the next time and it was another hour wait. I know it's a small town but not good enough pizza to wait around that long for in my opinion. The staff seem like good dudes. Chill vibe energy.

Open from Wednesday 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Thursday and Saturday 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Apparently you can order out during those times but the protocol seems unknown. Their on-line site could be clearer. We arrived right after opening, for a late lunch pizza. They were set up for pizza that day with a special four item menu. The space was about 1/10 full or less. The person at the ordering desk was not unfriendly but certainly not welcoming. No one was. Disinterested may be the best term. We ordered one pizza for two people. And waited a full hour. The server never checked on us. It was like we and everyone else were Invisible. I suppose the pizza was good, but after that wait and feeling starved by them and really irritated, it wasn't enjoyable. When the experience is that negative, it doesn't matter how good the food is. The proprietors should take note of that fact. No apologies from the staff for having such an extraordinarily long time for an order. Certainly, the strong impression was one's presence wasn't important at all. We had thought about going to their every-so- often pre fixe dinner. But now won't go back. One would have to pack pajamas with the anticipation of having to spend the night before you got your food. PS: Laughably, there is a note on the utensil bin that you should only stay 90 minutes when the restaurant is full. Again, an example of the disinterest of the proprietors. And can you only stay 90 minutes if your food still hasn't been delivered yet?

Honestly, the only good things I can say are that the location is great (right in the heart of…read moretown, with water views if you get a window seat) and the reservation process was simple online. We made a reservation for 8pm on a Saturday, and honestly, they weren't packed (they still had plenty of tables open). When we arrived there was no one at the host stand, and when they came they didn't check us in right away. Once we confirmed the reservation it took about 10 minutes for us to be seated, and there was a couple that came after us that had a reservation at the same time and were seated before us (okay, no big deal). We did get a window seat, which was nice. But this is supposed to be an upper scale restaurant in the area, and the silverware we were given was dirty, so not a great start. The server came to take our order, we ordered mocktails and a huckleberry lemon drop as well as the bread basket and the cured meat and cheese plate- compared to the Cutwater, honestly, no comparison. The teens didn't even drink the mocktail (which the server did take off the bill, and that was nice) and the lemon drop was okay. The bread basket and meat plate were fine, but we wouldn't order them again. My son ordered the 12oz ribeye (which was nearly 60.00) and I would say at least 50% of it was fat, and his was overcooked. I ordered the flat iron, and mine was undercooked, so he ended up eating mine. The herb roasted potatoes needed seasoning and felt like something they simply tossed on the plate. My daughter's Caesar salad was as expected to a side salad. Our server never came to check on us after the food was brought out, and we waited for her to return after we were done with the food for nearly 20 minutes. Overall we were disappointed and not truly certain why this place is recommended above other similar places in town. Very expensive, seems like it is trying to be upscale or more "fine-dining" but it missed the mark for us.

We chose the Nordic Inn based on the two Yelp reviews available. I can't find any evidence of correspondence but I thought I had let them know that it was our anniversary. When we arrived in McCall, it was about 11 am. We inquired of the woman at the counter about early check-in. She really didn't answer, just smiled and indicated that 3 pm was check-in time. It was an odd exchange. We asked about recommendations for restaurants for lunch. She just said "Everything is good". Not much help. When we came back, just after 3, the office was locked and another man was waiting. We stood there another five minutes, wondering what was going on, before a woman showed up, explaining that she was in the laundry room, taking care of a problem. She was nice and cheerful, and got us checked in fairly quickly. We were given a first floor room. Our small window was facing the stairwell. For our anniversary. The room was small but clean. There is a cool glass and metal barn door covering the bathroom entrance. The vanity and bathroom/shower are very small. There was no box of tissues in the room. The shower water pressure is weak. The fan works great. The AC works fine. There is a shortage of electrical outlets, none on my side of the king bed. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The property is located on the main drag, a medium walk from the lake and main downtown area. Dark wood and rustic looking. The parking lot could stand to be repaved. When we checked out, about 10:45 am, there was no one in the office. We dropped the keys in the box. We will definitely return to McCall, but I don't think we'll be back to the Nordic Inn.

At the last minute I requested a table by a window/water view, and even though they said they may not be able to meet the request, they did, and our view was gorgeous. Everything we tried was honestly amazing- we started with the bread basket and spinach and artichoke dip, and it was so delicious. The teens got mocktails, which they enjoyed, and I had a huckleberry martini style drink, and it was also excellent. Our server recommended the soup of the day, and it was perfect for the rainy weather. We ordered the prime rib dip, steak and pesto pasta, and it was all full of flavor, fresh, and honestly, the best food of the trip. The ambiance is wonderful. Several issues with McCall Party Rentals…read more.. 1) TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION: I first contacted them for a September wedding on January 20th to rent string lighting, stand heaters and beverage tubs. I emailed them SEVERAL times trying to get a contract set up, they never followed through with any contact. There were always excuses, too busy, needing to do a phone call instead, etc. I would give them numerous options for availability and nothing. I'd constantly have to bug them and still nothing but excuses. FINALLY my husband was able to get the stand heaters and tubs rented from them 3 weeks prior to our wedding but now we'd have to do the pick up and drop off because they were too booked. Super frustrating that it took 9 months to book but at least we had the items (lights were no longer needed). 2) THEIR EMPLOYEES STOLE: We show up to our venue and there are 140 chairs and bar height tables left from the previous wedding they did...In the space we needed to set up in. The venue manager had called them several times to let them know the week prior and they still weren't picked up. So now we have to deal with them around picking up their left items so we can set up our own event. We had to work around the left items and move them ourselves out of our way. Two of their employees finally show up Friday evening to pick up the items. I instructed them not to take the tubs or heaters as we had rented those for our event. Not surprised, one of our family members had to stop them from loading the tubs up. We had all of our table decor set up prior to the employees getting there. We also had tubs of items in the building, one tub contained 4 clear umbrellas for our ceremony, as rain was in the forecast. We found the last 4 clear umbrellas in the valley before heading up to relieve the stress of us being dry if it rained. I stopped back to the event building as their employees were leaving, I noticed things were opened and gone through. Our back table candle centerpieces were gone and so were 2 of our umbrellas. Not only that but the venue's shop vacuum was also missing. Two employees and two sets of missing centerpieces and two umbrellas plus a shop vacuum. 3) NO FOLLOW UP AGAIN: We called right away that evening about it. No call back. We called again in the morning. We didn't even care about the decor at that point, we needed those umbrellas. The company said the boss was meeting with the employees that morning and would get to the bottom of it. In the meantime our family spent the morning scouring McCall for 2 umbrellas that could be used instead of enjoying the day. NOT A SINGLE CALL BACK HAS HAPPENED. My husband called twice more with no response. They haven't apologized, they haven't updated us, they haven't offered to make it right in any way. What a terrible company. 0/10 do not recommend. Get it together McCall Party Rentals and stop hiring thieves and creating unnecessary stress for your customers.
