Offering threading or waxing, I opted for the latter being "old school." Recently opened by two sisters, I was impressed by their expertise and the outcome. Clean, comfy, reasonably priced & friendly, I can see me becoming a regular here and without a hard sell I'm very tempted to try their lash service for my next special evening event. There is talk of branching into spray tans & blow dries, making it a great pre-party one stop shop.

For anyone who doesn't…read moreknow what this is, it is an all of wax for the nether regions of us lady's (apologies for too much info). Now when you get in to Goddess you can see that it is a lovely place but the size is extremely deceiving and by that I mean it looks smaller than it actually is; I was very surprised. With the nail bar, fish pedi and another room up the stairs and then down below there were a few treatment rooms and one of them was where I got the wax. The therapist that met with me was nice and friendly and talked me through the usual process and asked if I could be pregnant and to this I replied "yes, 12 weeks" and she acknowledged this and asked me to get myself ready and on to the treatment bed, this I did and she came back in a few minutes later. So we started with some general chit chat while she waxed and I can remember thinking to myself "ooh this is sorer than usual" but I just put this down to being pregnant and let her continue. 20 mins later we were done and she asked me to get myself ready and meet with her back up the stairs. Now usually the therapist would come back in after you checked yourself to make sure everything was to your standards but not this time; I have myself a check anyway and there was blood everywhere all over the paper topping. My first thought was my baby because of the way she was hardly sapping the wax but then I realised that the hot wax had actually burnt and blistered my skin. It was safe to say I paid and got out of there as soon as possible, never to return again. I later found out that she should not have waxed me because I was in my first trimester and this leads he skin to be more sensitive and susceptible to skin problems when getting waxed.

My brows after waxing were uneven on both sides. The staff did seem lovely and as I said, the atmosphere was really relaxing ... and I am sure they do some great treatments (certainly my younger sister recommends the salon), but I just wouldn't want anyone else to be disappointed with their eyelash perm, and would recommend going elsewhere for this particular treatment.

The treatment I get takes 20 minutes and only a minute or so of that is ouchy. I still go to Amanda and she told me last time she's had a customer tell her she had the same waxing somewhere else and it took double that time. Now that is torturous. I first came here on a Groupon voucher, but enjoyed it so much I've been back several times since. The main reason is that Ivy are great value for money, especially with their frequent offers. Every month a new email is sent out detailing the offers for that month, and it's worthwhile checking their Facebook page too. Most recently I had a 60 minute full body massage with Lana, and because she's new I got 40% off! And ohhh it was good. I absolutely love massages, and this was just as good as any other I've had before. My shoulders are still very knotty (though Lana really went at them) so I'll probably be back soon for another go. On their Tempting Tuesdays they do several popular treatments for only £20, including a 30 minute Swedish massage, so it's an affordable treat. I'm glad I found Ivy, especially given it's near my flat so absolutely perfect for popping into after work. If you live locally you should definitely give them a try too.

The online booking system is so simple and you can book any of the treatments they offer. Besides massage, they also do nails, waxing and toes etc. I had Zoe as my masseuse. She really tried to loosen up my neck. The treatment room was very relaxing. Lots of plants everywhere, even in the waiting room, on the walls and ceilings. In the past this did cause some trouble when I went in for a 9am appointment before starting work at 10.30am and arriving with really red and swollen looking eyebrows. Not really the customer friendly look to have while trying to sell comfortable hotter shoes to the 60+ ladies of Glasgow.... Anyhow, I love this place. It's really handy and the staff will always try their best to find a last minute spot to squeeze you in. They also have slightly longer opening hours which means a lot of the time you can pop in straight after work without having to work through lunch and leave early or any of that malarkey. The treatment rooms are on the small side, but they are very comfortable and well equipped. While, the decor is bright, airy and everything is clean and tidy. As mentioned previously the staff are very pleasant, chatty and always friendly - even at 6pm on a Thursday when they are getting rushed off their feet for a late night despite a long day. The business is also open almost all the time! It was even open on Christmas eve (I didn't actually go on Christmas eve but I was a few days earlier and heard all about it). So you're bound to find a time that suits you to pop in here. The treatments are also done pretty quickly - in the efficient way, not the slap, bash, dash ahhhh my skin way. Additionally, their prices are really reasonable, for example for an eyebrow wax and tint and a some more waxing you can expect to pay under £15. It's all good.

Discounts and offers are pretty much always available, so there's always something for everyone.
