She didn't even clean around the ears, clean up the sideburn area, or cut it straight in general. I've never had such a bad haircut lol I only went because I had an important thing tomorrow and she kept getting frustrated for zero reason as if I was crazy for asking her to blend between the scissor area and the clippers. It didn't seem like she wanted to be there in the first place by the way I felt rushed. I very rarely leave reviews but this deserved one. Save your money.

I was looking for an African American salon in this area and was hoping for an easy and relaxing…read moreexperience where I'd like the result with my shoulder length hair. I don't want my hair to be over-styled. As a professional woman who travels quite a bit, I wanted an easy, healthy-looking style with a little volume to give this 50-year old face a little lift. I need to be able to sleep on a 12 hour flight, get up, brush my hair in an airplane bathroom and keep moving straight into a meeting. So many prior salon experiences left me with flat, overly-straight hair with no movement. I found this spot online and the reviews were good, so I booked an appt. My girlfriends all thought I was insane for trying any hair salon working dozens of personal recommendations. The booking process was simple and I quickly received a text confirmation of my appointment and a reminder. I loved that. I'm busy and a bit scattered - I NEED reminders. This was perfect. I arrived, was warmly greeted and was given a quick customer information sheet to complete - along with a price list (thank you!). I was then taken by Brittany to her chair to discuss my hair, my desires and my expectations. Brittany demonstrated professionalism while also being friendly and easy to connect with. My hair was shampooed by Kenneth, who gave me the best temple massage. I had to fight to keep from falling asleep in the shampoo chair. Good conversation. Ultra relaxing. Comfortable shampoo chairs and a foot stool so you can prop your feet up. The shampoo room is walled off from the rest of the salon, you're getting a very relaxing experience, but there is a glass door, so you can still see what's going on (unless your eyes are closed, as mine were). Having really listened to my desire to have a little lift and movement to my hair, Brittany had me sit under the cool dryer for just a few mins and then did the blow dry. But unlike other salons, she didn't snatch my hair bone-straight. She left it with some volume - then gave me a flat iron and trim. I was all much quicker than I'd expected and I was left with EXACTLY what I wanted. I was shocked - she "got" me. Had I brought in a magazine photo for a stylist to replicate, it would have been what I walked out with. The salon is comfortable, clean and a no-nonsense place - grown-woman style. They offered me a glass of wine - the music was nice - and the clientele was friendly and relaxed. I didn't wait at all, yet they did have plenty of customers. They kept us all moving. I left the salon and met my girlfriends for dinner. Everyone loved my hair. Definitely going back - have already booked my next appt!

I gave it 2 stars because a 1 star would not be fair…read more Shelby cut my hair. The site states the hairdressers are stylists. They are not! She cut my hair so short I am unable to put a flat iron or curling iron to the sides and the lower back of my head. I mentioned to her before she started cutting, not extremely short. Each side of my head was different. I hardly have any hair left on the sides of my head. The left side is worse. Thankfully, I am a former hairdresser and can maybe fix this to some degree. The shop never offered me the 20% discount they offered. I did not even think about that at the time of paying my bill because I was so upset that they do not even style the hair after they cut the person's hair. Just horrible! I guess if you're not accustomed to the normal procedures of what is common - place for going to a beauty shop for a haircut and blow dry then the hairdresser takes advantage and does less work for the same price? I would never recommend this place to have your hair done besides not having upscaled hairdressers with knowledge of good styling. I might add the parking is also horrendous as well. In fact it's rather dangerous walking on uneven pavements in that area.

She was great, she knew how to work with curly hair and even how to style it (which I can't say is true for many other hair stylists). I came out really happy with how my hair felt and looked. I do appreciate that she warned me about the price but just wish there was more explanation of this special haircut. If I will spend double the price for something I would like to understand why. In any case, I really liked her so I may do it in the future but for this time I just stuck with the normal haircut. Will be coming back.

I decided to give a place in the neighborhood a chance as I'm tired of spending a half a day just to get my hair done. This place is amazing! When I called, I was able to get an appointment right away which is not common in my experience. The owner made my appointment with DJ, her daughter as she has had over 30 years experience working for L'Oreal and is amazing with color and balayage. From the minute, I walked in the salon everyone was very welcoming. It's a little bit of a throwback and it's an awesome one!! The place is clean and bright and there are people of all different ages there to get their hair done. DJ greeted me warmly and we discussed what I was looking to do. I had felt I'd become too blonde over the years and I wanted to be more of a dark blonde. She suggested I use a demi permanent so I didn't hurt my roots as I was just adding color, not taking color away since I was making it a darker shade. I wasn't sure what you expect after using ammonia products over the years but I could not have been happier with the end result. I recently went back for my second visit and had a haircut as well. Having curly hair it's hard to find someone who can cut hair and understand how much it shrinks up when dry if cutting wet. DJ not only understood this but pointed out how she was doing the shortest pieces to let me know she understood. I tend to leave a salon wet as I'm usually just running around and not doing anything fancy so I thought I liked my cut when I was there. When I got home later that evening and I washed it, I realized I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cut! Honestly, it's probably the first time someone has ever looked at a picture that I gave them and made it look better than that. I would highly recommend the salon and DJ in particular.
