She didn't even clean around the ears, clean up the sideburn area, or cut it straight in general. I've never had such a bad haircut lol I only went because I had an important thing tomorrow and she kept getting frustrated for zero reason as if I was crazy for asking her to blend between the scissor area and the clippers. It didn't seem like she wanted to be there in the first place by the way I felt rushed. I very rarely leave reviews but this deserved one. Save your money.

I don't want my hair to be over-styled. As a professional woman who travels quite a bit, I wanted an easy, healthy-looking style with a little volume to give this 50-year old face a little lift. I need to be able to sleep on a 12 hour flight, get up, brush my hair in an airplane bathroom and keep moving straight into a meeting. So many prior salon experiences left me with flat, overly-straight hair with no movement. I found this spot online and the reviews were good, so I booked an appt. My girlfriends all thought I was insane for trying any hair salon working dozens of personal recommendations. The booking process was simple and I quickly received a text confirmation of my appointment and a reminder. I loved that. I'm busy and a bit scattered - I NEED reminders. This was perfect. I arrived, was warmly greeted and was given a quick customer information sheet to complete - along with a price list (thank you!). I was then taken by Brittany to her chair to discuss my hair, my desires and my expectations. Brittany demonstrated professionalism while also being friendly and easy to connect with. My hair was shampooed by Kenneth, who gave me the best temple massage. I had to fight to keep from falling asleep in the shampoo chair. Good conversation. Ultra relaxing. Comfortable shampoo chairs and a foot stool so you can prop your feet up. The shampoo room is walled off from the rest of the salon, you're getting a very relaxing experience, but there is a glass door, so you can still see what's going on (unless your eyes are closed, as mine were). Having really listened to my desire to have a little lift and movement to my hair, Brittany had me sit under the cool dryer for just a few mins and then did the blow dry. But unlike other salons, she didn't snatch my hair bone-straight. She left it with some volume - then gave me a flat iron and trim. I was all much quicker than I'd expected and I was left with EXACTLY what I wanted. I was shocked - she "got" me. Had I brought in a magazine photo for a stylist to replicate, it would have been what I walked out with. The salon is comfortable, clean and a no-nonsense place - grown-woman style. They offered me a glass of wine - the music was nice - and the clientele was friendly and relaxed. I didn't wait at all, yet they did have plenty of customers. They kept us all moving. I left the salon and met my girlfriends for dinner. Everyone loved my hair. Definitely going back - have already booked my next appt!

After talking with Laquita on the phone and asking her questions, she said she COULD do what I was needing. She set me up an appointment. I come in for my appointment and met Laquita. I asked her again if she knew the "interlocking " dread method. She admitted she did not. I knew I should have left right then. I decided to give her a chance. Laquita took me back to wash my hair and proceeded to give me the MOST PAINFUL hair wash I've ever experienced, she was digging her nails so far into my scalp(I would later notice when I got home, that she had made me bleed). and that I would have scabs for a week. During the wash, she had literally pulled hair OUT OF MY Locs. She then began to work on my dreads and did such a shitty half ass job that when she finally showed me with a mirror, My locs were SO MUCH WORSE then they were before I went in. She lied about knowing the technique I was asking about and did such a terrible job with her "palm rolling " to the point where she probably only did 1/2 of my Locs. It was by far, the worst experience I've had in my 13 months of having my dreads. I highly recommend staying AWAY from this place if you're wanting to get your dreads worked on. Again, it was my own fault for putting trust into someone that should not be working on dreads in the first place. Never again.

Outside of that, the salon itself is great. The stylists do excellent work, the vibe is welcoming, and you can tell they're proud of their craft. The owner is clearly proud of his salon as well, which came through in our conversation. Overall, I'd say this is a unique salon and I would definitely go back and give them my business again.

She was great, she knew how to work with curly hair and even how to style it (which I can't say is true for many other hair stylists). I came out really happy with how my hair felt and looked. Before she started she did offer to do a "special" haircut for me for curly hair which was double the price. I do appreciate that she warned me about the price but just wish there was more explanation of this special haircut. If I will spend double the price for something I would like to understand why. When I called, I was able to get an appointment right away which is not common in my experience. The owner made my appointment with DJ, her daughter as she has had over 30 years experience working for L'Oreal and is amazing with color and balayage. From the minute, I walked in the salon everyone was very welcoming. It's a little bit of a throwback and it's an awesome one!! The place is clean and bright and there are people of all different ages there to get their hair done. DJ greeted me warmly and we discussed what I was looking to do. I had felt I'd become too blonde over the years and I wanted to be more of a dark blonde. She suggested I use a demi permanent so I didn't hurt my roots as I was just adding color, not taking color away since I was making it a darker shade. I wasn't sure what you expect after using ammonia products over the years but I could not have been happier with the end result. I recently went back for my second visit and had a haircut as well. Having curly hair it's hard to find someone who can cut hair and understand how much it shrinks up when dry if cutting wet. DJ not only understood this but pointed out how she was doing the shortest pieces to let me know she understood. I tend to leave a salon wet as I'm usually just running around and not doing anything fancy so I thought I liked my cut when I was there. When I got home later that evening and I washed it, I realized I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cut! Honestly, it's probably the first time someone has ever looked at a picture that I gave them and made it look better than that. I would highly recommend the salon and DJ in particular.
