The class was informative for beginners, if you already know how to apply make-up the class is not for you? There are no good networking connections you can get from this class. The company stated we will be receiving our digital certificate for completion of the class within 2 days, never received it or heard anything from them. I ordered a product and never received it or an email confirmation from them. I also have not received my mailed copy . Several people that I still keep in contact with from the class has been trying to reach them via email and phone, still no response. read more

This was an awesome experience it was very hands on. It was a smaller class and it had great structure. I feel it would of been a great 5 stars had it been clear that students would need to provide their own make up brushes. The site indicated that it was optional and that brushes would be provided along with the other materials for the classes. I attend the March 1st, 2015. class in San Francisco and the application process was easy, fast, and very informative. Lara was so patient with me when I had to reschedule the class. Everyone is so welcoming and you could truly feel their care for you to do well. Gol is so lively, magnificent, and spectacular beyond words! She really takes the time to make sure every student understood what they're doing, and she has such charisma that just permeates to everyone. Her efficiency and innovativeness with products is very educational and eye opening. I'm still in awe with how true, smart, and convenient her ways are. So fantastic! Taylor, one of their instructors amazed me on how she was able to swiftly cater to everyone's need! She was being called one student after another for questions and help during the hands on practice, including myself! and she was so informative, caring, and energetic. Their customer service sucks. They don't reply to emails. I sent multiple emails and gotten no response!! I signed up for the class and their automated email say they will send a confirmation email back to you to secure spot but I never received one any of the times and when I reach out they they don't reply nor do they call you. Which is unacceptable because they have my number, email address and such. I think its very rude and inconsiderate and unprofessional when you a person that's PAYING and trying to give YOU money and YOU don't respond, that's wack!!! Gol is a great teacher, as well as the rest of the staff. Super high energy and she goes over all aspects of the process, including business. They provide all the tools you'll need except brushes (for sanitary reasons) and it's a long, hands on 7-8 hours. Parking is decent as well. You'll get certified and be able to take clients within a couple of weeks. My only critiques would be to have more space, and more organized space, and more product. We were running out of a couple of things because we were a large class and it seems very cramped. read more

Participated in the Makeup101 class in Houston this past weekend. I'm a novice although I've been doing my own makeup for too many years to count. Recommendations based on my professional experience in the corporate world: Somehow I never received my class confirmation once I registered. I had to call and email before a rep responded and got it straightened out. I believe this is a website issue. Payments at the door: They had 1 line for cash, 1 for card. Good except the majority of attendees were paying cash and the girls at the desk were not working off a registration list which delayed the process as they had to write down our names. Classroom setup: Really should have more of a desk/table environment with chairs. Resting our supplies on our lap or the floor is not conducive to a learning environment. Classroom materials: Both the class attendance instruction email I received and the handout in class need to be re-formatted. They present as something a high school student would submit. It was a bit difficult to take notes on the handout and the some of the font was very difficult to read. Purchasing Product: They offered a great discount on the Glam Lab cosmetics, however that took a tremendous amount of time at lunch. Have an online shop for students only to pre-purchase so they are ready to go at class time. Hands On Instruction: So our class ran over by 2 hours and Gol was very gracious to extend our time. I feel this could have been addressed a couple of ways. #1 - smaller class size for sure. There were too many students, especially newbies, and not enough instructors to help with the hands-on portion. My partner ended up skipping steps because she didn't have enough guidance. Gol was running around quite a bit trying to assist everyone. The other issue was noted above in product purchase. By not having our own products, we had to rely on the products provided at the front of the classroom and often times the tool or makeup you needed was in use by someone else. I know there are other makeup classes out there that provide the supplies needed for class in the registration fee. Maybe consider that. Follow Up: We were told to email our request to receive the business notes after class since we rushed through this part. I did that but haven't received a response. Website: I feel the About Us section needs to be updated. Also, I attempted to see when the Advanced classes will be offered in Houston and the site is not working. I think some attention needs to be paid to updating the site layout and the technology as this affects a visitors perception of the studio overall. Overall - I did enjoy the class and learned a lot, although I feel I missed some things because there were so many of us that it was hard to keep track of the questions being asked. I would honestly not mind taking it again to capture what I feel I missed. I absolutely loved the section on business. I feel that is really valuable. Gol has worked with some high profile clients over her career but she keeps it real which I appreciated. She takes a genuine interest in the success of her students and program. read more

Found this class online. It was being offered originally in Alexandria Virginia and then it changed to NW DC. The event room at Embassy suites was small and lacked many basic things for such a class. For example, there was no lighting other than the yellow lights of the room. There were no tables to set your stuff up on. The make up that was there to use was a line I've no experience with (never heard of), and some other low cost brands, such as elf. They did have a little speaker for music, which blared rap music with the words b*tch etc in the songs. The class was advertised as a boot camp type of class packed with learning and a working lunch. It would have been nice to see maybe some water with slices of lemon and some coffee/tea for the long day ahead. The room literally had a check in table, a table in front with "their" make up on for them to work with, two tables in the back for make up and brushes they were selling, about 15 chairs, and a plug in speaker to blare rap music on. When they changed the location of the class, they gave a 10% discount ($21.50) to make up for the $28 valet parking fee that came along with the location change. Fortunately, I found a garage for $10...*which they never disclosed in emails for their participants. The class was still $193.50. There were no swag bags, or workbooks that I saw. Overall, I was disappointed and felt embarrassed to have asked my coworker to come to such a class with me. Even a couple tables with lighted mirrors and black table cloths wouldve been a nice improvement. My coworker and I left. The music was so distasteful and slanted that I could never imagine walking into any salon and hearing it. Not only was it inappropriate but it was unprofessional. So....no class experience to speak of. They lost me after they opened the doors at start time to begin registering participants. If class starts at 930, registration should begin at 9. Students should have a beverage choice, and tables for their make up and brushes and LUNCH. Who wants to have a working lunch and then put their food in their lap or on the floor? For that price, I expected more than a make shift class. I hope this review helps them to better prepare pr helps other who may be on the fence. This is an honest review of disappointment after getting up and traveling to DC on my day off excited to learn and quickly disappointed. I felt like it was a joke. A prank. read more

Just wrapped up makeup class with Glam Lab! Feeling more prepared to services my future brides with makeup and hair now. Gloriz and the instructors Erika Myea and Steph were are very helpful and friendly. Only down side is there was a lot to cover in one day. It was alot of fun taking a one day course with Gol,Rachael & Erika.I feel like this course is more of a makeup tutorial for beginners. DEFINITELY do bring your own makeup kit, unless you have no problem buying a $3 ELF color corrector for $6 from GlamLab then do you.. My partner had messed up on doing my eyebrows & blending & transitioning one shade into another ,Gol came by to check on us & said that was "Perfect" so I was kind of disappointed that she didn't take the time to really critique. I had seen other students works as well I felt like I was in 1st grade art class... so if you're a makeup newbie GlamLab is for you but if you know your makeup this course may not be for you.
