What a great space! I had never noticed this hotel before. It is in the Queen West area and has many restaurants close by. We were coming to an event being held in the hotel so we decided to stay one night. Each room is designed by an artist and has a theme. We were in the Lucky Strike room, which is one of the newest and has a double bed. The main floor of the hotel has a cafe that has gf and vegan options, plus a restaurant/bar. There is a manual elevator which is really cool. Each of the levels 2, 3 and 4 have art installations that you can walk around and enjoy. The rooms are on level 3 and 4 and level 2 has meeting rooms. There is a Metro and FreshCo just outside in case you want groceries. The parking for the hotel is underground at the Metro and costs $25+hst per night. Book your spot with the hotel and they give you a paper to display on your dashboard.

Loved this fully renovated hotel in the heart of trendy and popping Queen Street West neighborhood. Amazing interior design and art/books in every corner. Luxurious lounge spaces on each floor. Nespresso machine was very classy touch. Rooms were modern, industrial chic and very comfortable. Finally staff was super friendly and responsive. 24/7 fitness center, free Wi-Fi, and Melody Bar downstairs which is active/queer destination.

Strictly a review on the food. The venue itself is gorgeous and went through a complete Reno. Great seating with huge windows. A wonderful vibe. Staff was attentive and great. The food however was a lot more greasy than expected. We went for brunch on a Saturday and ordered the chicken n waffles and the skillet brekky. The skillet was very oily so all the potatoes, chorizo, greens, tomatoes were drenched. If it wasn't, the food would have been better and not as heavy. I took a picture of the oil... Quite a huge amount. The chicken n waffles were generous. Lots of pieces and the waffle was good. However, the chicken again was a little greasy and all the meats were dark so it had more fat than other pieces. Great flavour (it's dark comon) esp after you add the syrup and hot sauce. Heavy but at least you're full by the end of it! Overall it was okay but I wouldn't order the skillet again. Other people had the classic brekky and that looked decent.

What a fun and unique experience. If you like small funky, boutique, old+updated this is the place for you. The building is very old, 130+ years old, but it has been lovingly restored and made new. The rooms are small - so be aware - but they are wonderful with exposed brick, big widows with automatic shades, common areas on each floor, and a FANTASTIC welcoming staff, and very queer friendly ‍- had the best time!

What an amazing stay! This place is a paradise for those looking to lay their head down at a creative place in a great neighborhood with lots of fun dining & drinking options. The hotel supports both local and international artists through different types of programming, and it literally shows. The walls are decorated with amazing contemporary pieces that you could easily expect to see at an emerging arts space. Some of these artists might even be staying in the hotel during their artist residency! Each room has also been designed by an artist, so you get to feel like you've never left the "museum" when you sleep. I'm super impressed after visiting their website that they are dedicated to understanding their place in having a social impact on their community - nothing says local better than some programming dedicated to community impact. In addition to the art, the hotel has two sections to enjoy a cocktail or two. A larger bar with a small stage up front seems to have entertainment every-night. When I stayed, I dropped in on some music bingo hosted by an impressively funny human (I failed horribly of course). Their calendar also showed many other options from life drawing to cabaret. So many things! Another side bar/cafe had some great food, too. On my first night I had a beet/chickpea "burger." I have never tasted a veggie/vegan patty quite like this before - moist and filling. And no - it doesn't just taste like a giant beet - it's nice and balanced with that chickpea. I also had a fried chicken sandwich that didn't disappoint, either. Other little details make this spot stand out as well. Their elevator is apparently over 100 years old and run by your own personal elevator operator. And speaking of staff, every one working here was super friendly and helpful. So lucky to have stayed at this place. If I am ever able to head back to Toronto, I will definitely be staying here.

I planned a 3-day trip for my work team in Toronto and the Gladstone was our hotel of choice. Hayley and her team were great to work with from start to finish, offering a very competitive rate and letting me pick which rooms each member of the team got to stay in. The current photos on Yelp don't do the building justice! Nor does the outside indicate how cool the space is inside. Hardwood floors, staircase as well as an old-timey elevator. Not to mention all of the custom artwork throughout, including each of the guest rooms. (Yes, it's a little quirky and not always the most posh, but I vote for character every time) I stayed in the Lucky Stryke room on the 3rd floor. At first, I thought the matchbook art was just that. But after reading the artist's statement, it made a lot more sense. Clean, white linens and very tall ceilings made the room feel much bigger than it really was. Also, I appreciate the Roku TV, even if I didn't have much time to watch, there was regular cable TV as well as Netflix and other streaming options. Beyond the rooms, the Gladstone has a cafe and a bar which our group put to good use. Whether it was a morning coffee or evening adult beverages (with music bingo), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A couple reasons why the Gladstone Hotel is one of the coolest hotels I've stayed at. 1. Each room is designed by a local artist and has a different theme. I stayed in the Billio room on the 3rd floor. It was SO COOL. The walls were red, accented with a brick wall behind the bed. The furniture in the room was originally from the early days of the Gladstone. The dresser, vanity set, and TV stand were all set up on top of old books and there were big floor to ceiling curtains. I loved every bit of it. Plus my bed was extremely comfy. Win. 2. The staff were awesome. Haley (the room manager) and everyone I interacted with were so kind and helpful. One of them even let me operate the elevator... Not sure if that's allowed, but I LOVED it. 3. Speaking of operating the elevator, they have a manual, old school elevator which is the original from the early days. Over 100 years old! Badass. 3. They have a cafe and bar attached to the hotel with music bingo, brunch, coffee - just a few of my favourite things. Plus the decor in both the Gladstone Cafe and Melody Bar were so aesthetically pleasing and beautiful, you'll be happy to just sit there appreciating all the art. They also serve up a good cup of coffee and burger. 4. On the second, third, and fourth floor they have art galleries with local artist's work. Open to the public from 12-5 every day. 5. The prime location on Queen St. Queen St. is one of my favourite neighbourhoods ever and being within walking distance to so many rad local bars, restaurants, and shops makes me a happy camper. Book your next trip at the Gladstone. You won't regret it.

Either you got it or you don't! Every piece of the puzzle makes a hotel amazing or just so so! The Gladstone is amazing! Let me tell you why! It has an incredible history, (which flies it's flag high! LBGTQ). The staff from the front Desk, to old school elevator operator, to cleaning crew, to bar tenders to, Music Bingo host, were all top notch and you could tell they loved their jobs! Ps how many hotel bars do you actually think are cool to hang out in.. THIS PLACE HAD 2 that were amazing! If you love Art, this hotel not only has beautiful old architecture, but they have constant rotating art shows in the hall ways and the themed rooms are designed by local artist as well! There was a Yoga class rolling on the 2nd floor in the morning, there were late drinks in both bars, they have a music venue which I found myself in by going down the back stairs, the restaurant/bar's food and drinks were on par with any I had in my whole visit around Toronto! And the location is great! Perfect for catching a bus, hitting a grocery store (Metro Across the street) or checking out some other late night spots for a drink! The rooms were euro style, not huge but perfect for 1 or 2 folks! The beds were comfy, and they had tv's with the internet so you could watch YOUTUBE or sign into your HULU or Netflix accounts! Showers were small but the water pressure was great! This place ruled and I kinda didn't want to leave! 5 Stars all the way around!

Had brunch with my cousins here and found the food to be quite average. We had the "spicy" chicken and waffles which looked and tasted unassuming. The shakshuka was overly oilly to the point where the oil coats your mouth. I did however enjoy my green tea which came in a delightful silver teapot. Afterwards we had the house beer which wasn't bad but also isn't something I'm going to rave about. All in all not a place I'd probably return to but the hotels decor is nice with the ceiling painted by Toronto local Bryan Espiritu of Legends League which was the highlight of my visit personally

Disclaimer: A Complimentary Classic Room for 1 night, a prize at a Yelp Elite Event. My stay at Gladstone Hotel was enjoyable! Right from the minute I tried booking my room via email because I need to use my certificate. The reservation agent was helpful and friendly. The staffs I encountered during my stay were all professional but has a really laid back vibe. I stayed in the Puzzle Room (309). The Queen size bed is really firm and comfy so are the fluffy pillows! There is a nice lounge area where all the rooms in my floor shared and complimentary coffee/tea are served every morning. There are nice amenities in the room includes a Samsung Tablet.. Yes I can Yelp with their free wifi without the need to bring my own netbook! 24 hour streetcar right at your doorstep, but if you are a light sleeper and have a room facing Queen street, you might need to use the complimentary ear plugs which is one of the amenities! Gladstone Hotel is definitely a nice boutique hotel if you want to explore West Queen West and the area. Walking distance from a lot of nice restaurants and bars and even shopping!

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Forreal though, the run Soho House had can only be rivaled by 2011-2015 Whole Foods. You really had to be there... but like any other prime, Father Time always catches up. I was set to do a full rise and fall piece on the Soho House right here on Yelp but in my research, I stumbled upon an article by Lydia Moynihan in the NY Post and she nailed it. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia. Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review. We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture. The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations. We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy. I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here... please don't beat me up. We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing. Thank you Soho House Toronto, for giving me a taste of what the Soho House used to be in the states. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews
