She said I would have to wait until they did or I could leave, like seriously? It's not like we do this every week, I didn't know the rules or procedures they have but I'm sure she would of told me she would get him this time but next time to call ahead or whatever but nope she was very rude and made me feel like she was better than me. I tried calling the AZusa district office and they said I would need to discuss the issue w the principal first and the lady at the office did not inform me of this when I told her I was just go ma call the district, they assured me I was gonna receive a call back from the principal today at the end of the day, it's 5 pm and I'm still waiting. Truly sucks!!

Review for Sandburg Middle School Our family has lived in…read moreGlendora since 1996, and we truly love this community. My husband served as a local pastor for many years, and I spent three decades as an educator, including teaching in nearby Azusa. Our five daughters grew up here, so our family has deep roots and friendships throughout Glendora. Today I am a grandmother, and two of my grandchildren attend Sandburg Middle School. We appreciate the many teachers and staff who work hard every day to support students. Our family does face some health challenges. My grandchildren live with autoimmune conditions that sometimes cause physical pain and emotional strain, and their mother -- a dedicated social worker -- manages lupus and fibromyalgia while continuing to work full time and care for her children. Because of this, occasional issues with absences or timing can arise. One small example happened this morning when my daughter arrived just one minute late turning in a required form. The immediate response from the front office was "no exceptions." Several minutes were spent explaining the rule, when perhaps those same few minutes could have been used to help find a solution -- such as assisting with submitting the form to the staff in the gymnasium. Policies are important, but so is the tone in which they are delivered. A moment of empathy and problem-solving can make a tremendous difference for families navigating health challenges or difficult circumstances. As a retired educator who worked closely with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, I have seen how impactful empathy training and family-centered leadership can be. My hope is that Glendora Unified School District continues to strengthen training for staff and administrators in areas such as empathy, cultural awareness, and understanding the mental and physical health realities many families face today. Glendora is a wonderful community, and with continued growth in these areas, our schools can reflect the same care, flexibility, and support that make this city such a special place for families.

During those years I had severe asthma and weighed about 90 pound. another student attacked me and I was compelled to defend myself. Both of use were sent to the vice principal for fighting. The vice principal Gadel hit both of us with a large wooden paddle leaving welts. On another occasion I witnessed a gym coach Moses grab another students penis in the locker room and said " let me help you with that ". These experiences negatively affected me throughout my remaining school years. I did not want to participate in any school activities I just wanted out. I'm very impressed by the hardworking teachers and hardworking staff. My first impression of the school was the welcoming greeting of the schools administrator/ secretary Mrs Fitzgerald. She answered all my questions and made me feel that this was the right decision for my children's education. I like it so much that I volunteer two days of the week in my daughter classroom. My husband and I feel just as strongly about our children religious education as we do about their academic education. We feel SFR meets both these high standards most assuredly. The principal Mrs Mendez has a noticeable leadership quality that makes me want to be part of the SFR Families that truly care about this school.

However, because of logistical reasons and because of a close friend (Jeannette) who recommended SFR, we decided to send our youngest child Noah. The teachers, parent involvement and the curriculum have prepared our son for first grade. We look forward to growing our faith and our child's education in the years to come.
