Great burgers and poutine, fairly inexpensive and quick service even on a busy evening. The staff working at the front was also quite amiable. I had the gladiator and undefeated burgers, and I prefer the gladiator over the undefeated, but both were sizable and filling. Undefeated burger with the fried mozzarella felt a little too much for me, but the gladiator with a balance of toppings was a nice compliment to it. I was in Waterloo this weekend with my family and we decided to go to Gladiator, seeing it was quite popular with the students in the area. When we went into the restaurant, we were kindly greeted by the hostess. She took our order and even recommended to us what we should get. The service was quick and efficient! The prices are also very good for the amount of food you get. We got a few steak sandwiches, burgers and fries to share amongst the table and everything was really good! Gladiator burger and steak is a franchise. I visited the one in Waterloo, which is very close to the university. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very tidy and I really loved the decor. It is definitely a themed restaurant. The theme being gladiators in the military with burgers and steak sandwiches named positions in the military. My friend had the lieutenant Mac, which included mac & cheese. I had the commander which was a double patty, and absolutely loaded. we decided to split the large french fries. We also split the burgers. Something to know about the burgers is that they are very sloppy and I would suggest to the franchise that they wrap the burgers so that it's easier to eat like a Gyro. The bacon on the burgers was so perfect. It was cooked nice and crisp and dark and it was thick cut. It was not burnt, but it was just perfectly cooked. Regardless, the burgers were perfect. It really seems like they are actually Using fresh beef and forming at their selves rather than having frozen burger meat. The french fries were excellent the perfect crisp and tender interior. The one thing that I would say about this location was that it was very cold in the restaurant. Which makes the food get cold quickly. However, it did come out piping hot which was lovely. The staff was excellent. When you arrive, you order at the counter but if you are sitting in, they will serve it to your table. Very sweet and extremely accommodating. I will 100% have their burgers again. They are definitely an excellent addition to Waterloo. And they chose an excellent location because there was a constant flow of students coming into the restaurant. One thing to note about the area is that there isn't really street parking so you can park in a parking lot right across the street. However, it is pay parking. read more

Was empty when we arrived at around 6-7pm. The service was very nice and they bring the burgers to your table. There were lots of tables so overall very spacious. The food came after 15-20mins or so because they were made fresh to order. Very true to the pictures on their social media pages. The burgers were huge and very filling. Definitely a messier food but worth it for the experience. For a pricier burger menu, they fill you up but I was still a bit hungry after it. I'd been looking to sample the food at Gladiator Burgers & Steak since it opened in Waterloo. Finally had the chance this past Wed Aug 14th. Three of us enjoyed amazing burgers. Two of us being carnivores enjoyed the Cesar and the Gladiator and the third enjoyed the Veggie Armour Portabello.
