My very good friend booked massage appointments for my birthday this year. We are not "a…read moretraditional couple" and had both of our massages in the same room together. He likes a much more intense massage where I prefer a relaxing massage and the hot stones that he added on were absolutely fabulous. My provider said to me afterwards "wow your body really liked those hot stones". I should've asked her what she meant by that, however, I knew it was true and smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. We then moved into the hydrotherapy area for an hour. The locker rooms and I can only speak for the women's side are clean and roomie, there's a dressing area if you're a little more modest. There are restrooms showers wonderful products in the showers a long counter area with stools where you can blow dry your hair. There's snacks and healthy waters available in the reflection area before you enter your massage or hydrotherapy session. It was our third visit together and I'm sure we'll be back again.

I have bruises on my collarbones. I recently had my labs done and have no issues that would lead me to think this was a medical concern. I have also had recent hydrofacials from other spas with no concerns- notably one in February. I felt I needed to follow my etiquette and did tip her 18% but I will not be coming back- I left in a great deal of pain and look like I have been beaten up. Edit: 6.15.26: my dermatologist shared that some of the damage to my skin may be permanent from this service. I am heart broken.

If it were possible to leave a 0 star review I would. Save…read moreyour money, time, and energy and go literally to any other gym. The draw for ECA over big places like LA/24 hour was the smaller business vibe & I wanted to "shop local". I also liked the childcare options. 1. when we signed up at the Ballinger Village location with Brody, he made a big show of telling us (my husband and I) how they're a small business and they're not out to get money, he said most of them are just personal trainers or nutritionists, NOT BUSINESSMEN (i remember this line because he repeated it several times). So he encouraged me to sign up for the champions class. I asked specifically if I could cancel if it didn't fit my needs/baby schedule. He said "of course. But I'd recommend you try it for at least 60 days so you can really see if it works for you. And if you still need to cancel, just reach out. We're really chill here." This was near verbatim. 2. After more than a couple months, I found the champions class great for others but not for me/my toddler's schedule so I emailed to cancel which was the ONLY option I was given. And the email response was short, rude, and included a "$299 + tax downgrade fee" for the cancellation. Mind you, I wasn't trying to cancel our membership. Just MY champions access. I told them what Brody had told us just months prior and they absolutely didn't budge. That's fine. It's policy - I get it. But this is totally the kind of stuff big businesses pull and they should be up front. 3. We ended up completely cancelling our memberships (both of us) because we thought this way of business was shady and when you think about the cost and what they offer v. what big gyms offer (LA/24) then you'll realize it's absolutely not worth it. all that talk in the beginning is EXACTLY what it sounds like. a sales pitch. don't be sucked in. **I will say the teachers at the childcare are above and beyond. I have told everyone I know about our ECA experience and hopefully saved people quite a bit of $$$ but I have nothing negative to say about the teachers at childcare. ** in case my review is too long. read this reddit forum. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/oanvzy/emerald_city_athletics_a_toxic_manipulative_and/

I think Planet Fitness can't be beat. Last time I checked the hours here they were open til 10 during the week and 7 pm During the weekend. Nathan and Avery @ the front desk were awesome. Great customer service especially from Nathan. He went above and beyond. Black card members get 50% off drinks, access to total body enhancement , tanning and training. Also 20% off at Reebok.com they have every machine you can think of. Only thing they don't have is pool, hot tub and sauna which isn't a big deal. I like the atmosphere. It also doesn't smell dirty the air is clean. There are mini lockers up front with pre set combos that you can set. My only Issue with this gym is that they do not verify who has been vaccinated or not. This leaves a lot of room for dishonesty. I get that people don't want to wear masks but we all need to do our part. Saw a lot of members actually wiping the machines down

I've been a member for over a decade, and over the years I've noticed a decline in several areas…read more The biggest issue is the water fountain. It's honestly one of the nastiest I've seen. The top around the water filter is rusty, old, and appears moldy. The drainage holes are dirty and moldy as well. This has been an ongoing issue for years, and it's surprising that such a basic part of the gym hasn't been addressed. The indoor cycling equipment also needs attention. There are two nice FreeMotion bikes, but they aren't being maintained. The pedal straps are constantly broken. One bike has essentially been abandoned, and now the other one has the same problem. Another issue is the hand sanitizer stations. While there are plenty throughout the gym, some stay empty for weeks before being refilled. Overall cleanliness has also slipped. The obvious areas are cleaned, but if you look at corners, door frames, and less visible spots, you'll find spider webs and bugs. It gives the impression that only the most visible areas receive regular attention. That said, there are things this gym does very well. The staff is always genuinely kind and welcoming without feeling forced. They hire great people. The workout machines are clean, and the new layout is a significant improvement. The reason I'm giving this a one-star review is the water fountain. It's been unsanitary for far too long, and clean drinking water is a basic expectation for any gym. Fixing that alone would make a huge difference.

The space was large, looked clean, and well laid out. We enjoyed the expansive family changing areas, different and a great surprise. Lockers are available, too for use while swimming in the large pool. The pool was separated in half. One half was composed of four lap lanes; good signage for those wishing to swim slow, medium or fast. The second half was also split in half, creating two smaller, square pools, one shallow (2-4 feet) the other deeper (4-5 feet). The shallow side held a water structure, shaped like a mushroom, that showered upon the kids splashing and playing in the area. (To turn this feature on, a lifeguard must be notified.) In order to be free to swim in the deep end (where there is a tube slide, which wasn't in use during our visit), one must prove to the lifeguards competency and skill - jump far enough in to hold your head underwater, swim the length of the pool without resting or stopping, and float or tread water for 30 seconds. This is a great tool for encouraging up-coming swimmers, as well as keeping people safe. Well done! After our swim session, our friends gave us a little tour of the class spaces, gymnasium, workout machines, free coffee/tea/hot cocoa, and kids/teen play and hang out spaces. It's a great facility and we look forward to coming back!
