This location is at the center of a lot of the major tourist attractions and is therefore great if you're looking for a quick, on-the-go breakfast or lunch without having to sit down (though that is still an option). Panos is a chain bakery/sandwich shop and was recommended by one of the aunties. Stuff you can find here includes sandwiches, wraps, soups, sweet and savory pastries, individual loaves and rolls, salads, coffee, and hot chocolate. Super basic, but high-quality stuff compared to a lot of other chain bakery places we saw as we traveled through Europe. Some of those sweet pastries were just really fancy looking for what's supposed to apparently be a very basic place, while even the basic stuff tasted really delicious. Their croissants were also super delicious, and I thought the raspberry croissant was particularly interesting. This particular location is on the street branching just off Grote Markt (Grand Place) and just across from the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert's southern entrance. It was near where we were supposed to meet up with our tour group, so we dropped by very quickly to grab some breakfast. My chief memory of that morning was that their waffle honestly made me feel better about the first half of the day.

I absolutely cannot believe how in expensive prices are here, our sandwiches were only €2.20 and €2.70 and the crackers only just over €1! It's no wonder the place is busy with a line long enough you need to grab a ticket for service. Our sandwiches were fantastic and filling (I'd say it's just slightly smaller than a Subway "Footlong," if you're coming from the States). We didn't branch out much but if you're looking for special meats or cheeses, you're sure to find what you want with the massive selection they have available. I wish we had found this place before our last day in Brussels!

This is a family run business that is best described as an Italian deli, and then some! Every day at lunch their is a queue that goes on forever and you need to pick a number to get served. People oder in their sandwiches days in advance or have a standing order for every day. Yes, it's that kind of place, it's just so good. I tend to avoid the busy lunch period and I visit on my way home from work. They also do Lasagna, tiramisu, pizze, fresh Italian mozzarella, an array of cheeses and charcuterie and also pasta, both fresh and to cook at home. I love this place more than any deli anywhere in the world. Must visit!

When we arrived we were met by a really nice guy behind the counter who helped us oit with his recommemdations. There were so much delicious options, but in the end I got the Chorizo and Goat Cheese Foccia as well as the Peppered Salami & Cheese Panini Melt. Originally the peppered salami & cheese was only an option for the ciabatta, but the guy let us choose different bread if we wanted to. Awesome service, I'm telling you. Both of them were super tasty, and pretty filling. If you're looking for a place that's got both the taste and the filling for a good price, this is the place for you.

Compared to the medinas in Morocco I would spend the next few weeks walking through, the streets of Brussels are fairly easy to navigate, although signage is still lacking to some degree. My GPS signal was pretty much nonexistent, so after guessing which train stop I needed to get off on, I really needed to pull up a map on an internet connection to get well situated. Delish prominently displayed their free wifi sign, at a time when few other businesses were open so early in the morning. What a relief. After getting settled in with a connection I decided to sample one of their signature coffee drinks, a mocha with a chantilly cream topping and real chunks of Belgian chocolate at the bottom. I didn't know I needed it, but once I had it damn was I grateful. It was the perfect pick-me-up for the sour attitude I was experiencing after dealing with such bad customer service, and the gals here helped relieve some of that too. Their welcoming demeanor and smiles really made a difference for me that morning, and helped change my impression of the otherwise cold city to that point.

Gotta say I've spend a decade in the states, where you pay twice the price for goodies that you miss. Twice the price of this place, but with a fraction of the selection. Cans of pop that I've never seen abroad. Maybe a previous reviewer will worry about my weight and/diet. No need to bother I'm a fat git. Only gripe is that the Pot Noodles (my person vice) are way over priced. Twice the price of in Blighty. Over four times the normal sale price. So alas I didn't buy any. Amazon can be my dealer. We did leave with a selection of goodies. And some real food! Yes food! Going to be back here....

Catherine is extremely kind and patient as are her employees. They offer the ability to taste samples before making decisions. They're very helpful with making said decisions as well. Was so looking forward to our return trip to Brussels and visiting Catherine's. Over our week long stay we managed 3 visits to pick up cheese, freshly sliced deli meat, bead and made to order sandwiches. The cheeses that we selected were so very fresh and the selection to choose from was amazing. Of course my favorite was the truffle. We picked up sandwiches on two occasions and they were basically the same. The second one Catherine added a new little taste with the addition of three small roasted peppers. We had forgotten to ask for arugula and Catherine asked if we wanted it on this one...what a memory. Catherine's is a small place and always very busy. Quality shines throughout. The customers are almost all locals...another great sign. We noticed that when there were about three people inside that the patrons formed a line out of the door. Think out of respect for Catherine. Wish we had had a quality shop like Catherine's in metro Atlanta. We would drive to experience this and here in the hustle and bustle of Brussels there is a gem. Highly recommend. Prices are extremely reasonable. Can't wait to return...sooner than later. Thanks Catherine.
