You walk around picking the cherries you want. The trees are marked to indicate the different varietals. You put them in your bag, and you go back to the table to pay for what you picked. Great date idea. There are a couple photo spots designed for Instagram type photos. We didn't use those, just took regular pics. And the whole thing cost like $10 for both of us. That's less than 2 coffees and you get the cherries too. Make sure to check in advance as crops aren't always predictable.

No outside bags or buckets allowed, they will give u plastics bags ... wear good shoes cuz there were many fallen cherry on certain parts and dirts on the grounds. I would recommend shoes you don't mind getting dirty or stained. Parking was small but we still found parking at the entrance maybe cuz we went toward end of the season and later in the afternoon. If going on warm spring weather , bring a hat or umbrella., there were still plenty of shades under cherry trees as walk tree to tree or row to row . We got carried away and end up picking 6 lb +, cost added up fast . 6.50$ per pound for cherry and 3.50$ / lb for apricots . Both cherry and apricots were sweet ! Distanced only 20 mins from San Jose Central area , which is great location if you are in nearby town/city .

At the front (area between the house/beautiful lawn and the horse stable) was a table with instruction and another staff teaching us how to pick the cherries/instructions/what to look for/giving us bags. Not sure how tall cherry trees usually are, but the trees here were perfect for my height. I'm short, and I didn't have to reach far at all to pick the cherries. Kids probably wont have problem picking their own cherries here either. Be careful walking around though. Don't forget to look down, because I almost stepped on a garden snake. He was harmless and he froze for a while because I spooked him out. A bit expensive...but it's reasonable market price. Definitely worth checking out if you want to pick some bing cherries next season. They have sinks (outside the restrooms) for you to wash your cherries and picnic on the lawn area.

I made fresh apple pies and apple crisp with the apples... the best ever. The people here are very friendly and helpful. You don't find apples any fresher and the pies and other deserts that you can make with them are impossible to beat. Make the drive, buy the apples, and make delicious, loving memories for your family.

But as my family…read moreand I was on my way to Gizdich Ranch for strawberries, we actually pass this Farm and was super curious about it. So on our way back home we went here and it was pretty cool. I didn't realize how close Morgan Hill was to the Cupertino/San Jose area (~30 miles or less). It was a great experience. The entrance to the parking lot is very clear but it's only one way so if you see parking just park there. I saw cars park on the highway road because it was full. First you check in to pay admission for adults ( kids under 4 feet are free) then they hand you the bucket and your on your way. It was a bit muddy because of the rain the past few days so make sure to wear shoes you don't care about. We were a bit lost as to where we were allowed to pull but we found our footing and it was a fun hour experience. You can eat the cherries as you pick. They don't care. There's a lot of cherries at the bottom of the tree as well as on top for the kids to pick. But because of the weather and rain I saw more baby cherries or cherries that weren't ready to ripe yet. Maybe next weekend it will be better. When you check out, they weigh it and bag it in a plastic bag for you. Morgan Hill downtown is very close to here so you could go there for lunch or walk around to complete your Morgan Hill experience but you'll probably have to make a UTURN to get there. Check online for hours!

Tickets are $7/adult which pays for the first lb, and after that it's only $2/lb for organic apples!! The GPS takes you to 1875 Hames Rd which is their house, so keep driving down Hames, you'll pass some horses on the right, and then you'll see the entrance to the apple orchard. Drive through the path to reach the parking lot. You check in at the barn. There are porty potties with hand-washing. It is 17 acres of apple orchards to explore! We came pretty late in the season, but there were still plenty of beautiful, crisp, juicy, perfectly sweet apples (we picked 11 lbs!!) In September they had Gala apples, and in October thy had Fuji apples this year. I had gone berry picking with my kids in the past and wasn't sure if they'd be able to reach apples, but actually all the trees are super short, the apples grow so low to the ground my 2 and 4 year olds had no problems picking all the apples they wanted! The only thing was that the weeds grow pretty high in the aisles, which makes it a little bit of an adventure to trek through- I would recommend long pants. Karell the owner is super friendly, talked to us about the farmland and apples, and was very kind to our kiddos. You can also walk over to their stables to see their horses and feed them apples. Their albion and seascape strawberries are wonderful, but it's the little French ones that taste like candy grapes that have me coming back week after week during the summer. If you buy three flats, they'll load you up with extra berries too, and a few times gave me a half-flat of maras for free when that was all that was left. Yerena will also sell squash blossoms, which are great stuffed or cooked into a summer pasta. Bring back your strawberry containers so the farm can reuse 'em!
