Amazing fruit. Kind staff. $3/lb org sic strawberries while others are charging $8/lb. Go here. You won't regret it.

Came down to spend the day in Capitola and started with some fruit picking we got a bunch of delicious tomatoes and strawberries along with some items from their farm stand including potatoes and beets. Can't wait to have them. They look delicious. Their pricing is very reasonable and it's very easy to navigate through their fields. I had sandals on and my arm in a brace and I was still able to do it. read more

What an adorable and fun way to spend a few hours! My family visited for my birthday and was able to pick strawberries and apples, as well as do a walkthrough of the veggie garden and ALL the peppers. The farm is gorgeous, small enough to feel like you won't get lost or bite off more than you can chew, but big enough for plenty of people. We brought our own small boxes to use for picking and transporting berries. Everything was delicious! read more

We've come here twice now, once in the summer for strawberry picking and then in the fall for a pumpkin and apple picking festival. When we did strawberry picking, it was very quiet and at one point we were the only party in the field. But the strawberries were amazing and actually the best strawberries we've ever had. I would highly recommend! The pumpkin and apple picking event was a special weekend event, with live music, food for sale, pumpkin painting, and fresh apple cider. It was a really nice family event and we enjoyed ourselves! The Fuji apples were also very good, sweet and juicy. This farm is a bit of a drive but we have found their fruit to be very good quality. It's also not too far from Gizdich so you could make a trip to both :) read more

Went to Santa cruz farmers market today! So fun this stand probably had best prices for their produce. Will definitely be back on my next day off. read more

Went strawberry picking with the kids! We were originally going to another place but that place ran out of strawberries for self picking and we didn't know till we got there! Such a disappointment! I quickly looked up the nearest open place and found Live Earth Farm. We made an online reservation for parking our two cars. Cost $20 each car I think. It was well worth the great experience and not disappointing the children we took who were so excited to go strawberry picking! The place was beautiful and the staff were so nice. Price for self picked strawberries was cheaper than the other place. They provided boxes and bags. They even let us start before our reservation time which was a huge relief cus I don't know how I would have entertained the children that long and so long passed their nap time! Live earth farm was our saving grace this day. read more

I took my family(2 parents and 3 kids under 5 years old). We had a great time there taking pictures and picking fruits. We purchased our tickets online beforehand, which was $10/vehicle. We showed the worker at the sales table and he explained where all the fruits were located. Apples were the first two rows that started at the bottom of the hill. As you went up and toward the end, there were definitely more apples to pick. Lots of tomatoes and chilis were available and were a few yards away from the parking lot location. Blackberries were pretty far away, as you have to walk out towards the entrance of the farm and walk towards the another location. These were delicious and my kids devoured them in few days. Apple cider was delicious, however it sold out very quickly. There was also a lot of other produce that were available to purchase without needing to pick them yourselves. Only minor issue i found was that the blackberry picking area was marked by green tape along the tree branches or random poles in the ground. It would have been a lot easier if there were a few signs to point us in the correct direction. read more

The best sweetest strawberries ever! There were also other freshly picked vegetables - cauliflower, onion, potatoes, cilantro, Dill that we picked and it was so fresh and delicious. read more

Small farm with AMAZING tasting strawberries. They are so good that the box holding the strawberries has that sweet, fragrant strawberry smell. Even the hubby (who doesn't like strawberries) couldn't stop eating them. Pack your own lunch, and come out and spend a nice afternoon at the strawberry field. It's a fun family outing. read more

This is a small family owned farm. We booked online on their website for an afternoon time for u pick strawberries. They have the best tasting organic strawberries and other veggies are also available at their farm stand. We reached late but they still accommodated us. Best time spent! read more

Great place to come and pick fruit. We visited in October and apples, strawberries and tomatoes were all available to pick. Get there early as it does get busy as the morning wears on. We arrived when they opened and there were only a few other cars there. They have fresh produce available for purchase as well, and we found their prices extremely reasonable. Many places charge you extra to pick fruit, at live earth the fruit you picked yourself was cheaper by the pound than the already picked fruit. We will definitely be back! read more

My life has changed in a major way since finding and joining Live Earth Farm CSA! I love having a refrigerator full of fresh produce to cook up each week and the quality is second to none! Items you would buy at the store that go bad in less than a week last for weeks from Live Earth because they are so fresh! I don't mind doing the extra work of washing the dirt and occasional bug off my produce. I am a foodie geek and get excited to cook new items like Kohlrabi and other veggies I wouldn't normally think to buy at the store or farmer market! Three cheers for Live Earth Farm CSA! read more

Being a CSA customer with Live Earth Farm is a bond that strengthens each time I get a huge variety of fresh vegetables, each time I read Live Earth Farm's newsletter telling me what' happening at the farm with education on the crops, each time I share a delicious meal with families and they cant stop saying "WOW this is how XXXX (carrot, strawberry, tomato.. you name it) is suppose to taste like!!!" I am a happy and grateful Live Earth Farm customer and would continue my support for the years to come. Also, if you're concerned about the cost- they have a variety of payment plans and share sizes so you can pick one for your budget. Support Live Earth Farm through their many convenient pick up locations- your body and spirit will thank you. read more

I have been a CSA member for a year now. I joined after reading Omnivore's Dilemma and watching Food, Inc. Farmer Tom is educated, smart, and a dedicated good steward of the land. Everything is organically and responsibly grown. Great year-round variety. Convenient local pick up. You can also get flour, coffee, beans, 'canned' items - such as tomatoes, sauerkraut, and applesauce - pastured eggs, bread, extra fruit, and goat cheese and milk from their local partners delivered along with your share. read more

This is a super nice farm! We found this place on internet for strawberry picking. When we arrive at the farm, it surpasses our expectation way way much. First, the strawberries are super sweet, much better than the one bought in market. Second, there are much fewer people than other farms which make this place more cosy to visit. Last but not least, there are few tractors and my son loves it so so so much. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nice place to relax and pick some strawberries at the same time. read more

Our first strawberry picking ever! We had a great Father's Day celebration at farm, we pick delicious strawberries, we learn how to dig potatoes, we had a ride on tractor and play a lot on the straw bale fort. Can't wait for tomatoes season! read more

This place is top notch. Their quality, freshness and variety of their produce is really amazing. We receive their weekly farm share boxes and the strawberries are amongst the best we have ever had. Their website is easy to navigate, pickup from the farm is super convenient and they also go above and beyond to take care of their clients. I couldn't recommend this place more. It's worth getting on the waiting list if they're not taking additional clients. read more

Love, love, LOVE Live Earth Farms. I feel so blessed each time I pick up my farm produce here in Willow Glen. There is truly nothing like the flavor, texture, and vibrant taste of this produce, picked in the morning and in my mouth hours later. I find myself eating far more vegetables than when I don't get the box, so I'm a lifer! My kids are also huge fans. No arguments about eating these carrots, chard or kale. Yum! read more

This isn't so much about the farm but more so about their product. I was at a farmers market where they were selling their Medium Spicy Salsa and it was so disappointing. It tasted like tomato sauce. read more

Visited the farm for their harvest festival. It was a beautiful day and the festival was a lot of fun for the kids. The views at the top of the hill were breath taking. Live Earth Farm is the most wonderful farm around central coast. We've checked out most of the farms, and this one is the best by far. We love picking fruit and veggies there. We have created so many memories, thanks to Live Earth Farm. read more

Last summer, my husband and I were looking for high quality, organic produce to feed us and our growing toddler--all without breaking the bank. We decided to join the Live Earth Farm CSA as a result. Little did I know that Live Earth Farm would change our lives in ways that we couldn't even imagine. I love picking up our fresh produce and looking for new recipes because I didn't know how to cook a vegetable (Fennel anyone?). We've enjoyed the Community Farm Days because our son loves being at the farm and we like knowing where our food comes from. And we appreciate the dedication that Farmer Tom and his team have to taking care of this farm! read more

This is a review for their CSA service. I've been a CSA member for a couple of years now and I am always satisfied with my produce. We have a large family share from Live Earth Farm. You invest $28 a week in the farm and receive a big box of veggies and sometimes strawberries (when in season). The variety compared to other CSAs is fantastic. We pick up in Palo Alto which i believe is the the northern most pick up spot (i live in san mateo county) I really wish I had the extra fruit option for $10 more a week. Blackberries, apricot, pears, pineapple guavas...the diversity in fruit is amazing for one coastal farm. If you jump in early (at the beginning of the season) there is a truly free range egg option and goat milk/cheese option. Farmer Tom is truly inspiration in his newsletters and in person....growing organic food and changing the entire food distribution system is his passion..and it's contagious. Fantastic, nutritious fruit and veggies aside (they have the best strawberries i've tasted in my entire life) you couldn't support a nicer farmer and staff. read more

I've been to & volunteered on many farms, and this is the most awesome farm I've seen!! I love their food and their land!! The people I've met there are also genuinely sweet people! A group of us were there helping to plant and weed the herbal garden, and I got to explore and taste so much. The herb garden was nicely terraced, with a great view, and there were simple cabins off to the side. This place is abundant with beauty and yummy foods! And the chickens!! (we collected a ton of snails from the garden and fed them to the chickens) I'm not a part of the CSA, but I look for them at the farmers market read more

I signed up for a small share for the first time this season, and so far, it's excellent. The quantity, quality, and variety of produce is fantastic, and there are a ton of South Bay pick-up spots. I am also loving the steady supply of amazing organic strawberries in addition to the usual surplus of greens, beans, and roots. If you've been thinking about joining a CSA and you live in the San Jose area, I can't recommend this one enough. Check out their website: http://www.liveearthfarm.com/ read more

We were lucky enough to be able to join late in the season due to a cancellation. We have been curious about farm shares, but hadn't quite made the leap to try them, thinking, well, we like the farmer's market and wondering, well, do we really want to give up selecting our own veggies and (some) fruit?? The cancellation offered us the opportunity to try it for a limited time and, boy,are we glad we're in! The variety is fantastic -- in one share, we got purslane, a weed that I would have never otherwise mistaken for food (!) -- and, oh my goodness, the quantity is amazing. We ordered the small farm share and we still have trouble getting through all of the veggies in a week -- even stuff we often use in great quantity (basil, tomatoes, potatoes).... We've shared with friends and family and we make huge batches of curries, stir fries, etc., but we still often have veggies left! Also, the strawberries and cherry tomatoes we got in some of the past shares were some of the sweetest we've ever had! Baby D. can eat nearly an entire basket of both in one day! Equally impressive, so far, are the pears (last week's share contained 3 pears). We are so enthusiastic about the farm share, we'll probably sign up for the new winter program and continue on with it in 2008. Highly recommended. And it feels great to support the CSA's, too. read more

We love being CSA members here. Customer service is always great, the veggies and fruit are always very fresh and tasty, and it's a fun way to get new foods into your diet and to support local farmers. I also wanted to add that we had a great time at one of their open farm days. The farm is beautiful, everyone is friendly, there is a lot to do, and it's kid friendly, which is important to us. Next season we might look into other CSAs but there is a 95% chance we will stick with LEF. read more

It's been only two weeks since we've become a member, but we absolutely love being a CSA member with this farm. I am splitting a family box with another family. Both families get A TON of fresh, organic veggies and a bit of fruits each week. The weekly cost for each family is only $17! The quantity of some veggies gets small after splitting with another family (e.g., 3 small potatoes) but the variety you get is unbeatable -- we get a dozen+ different veggies every week, many of which have strong, earthy smell. You can really feel they've just come from the earth -- rather than sitting in a store or in a truck for several days or longer. Tom, the main guy, is a great writer and I enjoy reading his articles in their weekly e-mail news letter. Debbie, the CSA coordinator, is super responsive over e-mails, and offers inspiring recipes in the news letter. Even my 14-mo old daughter started showing interests in their veggies and is eating well! They've just opend a new pickup location in San Carlos. read more

Phenomenal!!! Our school rose blossom preschool just went on an apple picking field trip on Friday. Grace was our liaison and guide. We fed chickens and goats. Our visit here was spur of the moment - but it was definitely worth it! We came right at noon on a Saturday, allowing us to grab the perfect parking spot and giving us plenty of time to pick apples, strawberries, and pumpkins to our hearts' content. The whole place was very well organized, and every employee we interacted with was kind and helpful, even though a lot of customers were pretty irritable with the heat and busy parking area. Can't wait to come back again next fall! read more

LEF is amazing, We love all the great food and trying to figure out what to do with these wierd vegetables or even having too much. It's fantastic for trying new recipes. Only thing I would say is that they tend to give WAY to much lettuce - I'd rather more Kale ; ). Check them out, definitely a great way to get fresh organic food on a weekly basis!!! read more

Super friendly staff and such an amazing place to visit. We picked tomatoes and apples and they are both incredibly delicious.

Know where your food comes from! (The movie "Food, Inc." offers a decent explanation as to why this is so important in an easy-to-digest DVD format and is a good kickstart if you need one.) So for a few years now, the bulk of the produce our family of 4 consumes now comes from Live Earth Farm. We subscribe to their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and receive a large box each week containing a variety of fresh, organically grown vegetables and occasional fruits. Our Live Earth Farm CSA experience has completely changed what we eat, introducing us to healthy veggies we never would have purchased at the supermarket. We eat a ton more leafy greens than ever before. We eat a ton more produce than ever before. The Farmer, Tom Broz, is in this for the right reasons and is a total inspiration. We've got to support local farmers like Tom. It's good for our bodies, good for our communities, and good for our planet. Since having children, I've made an effort to learn more about eating healthy and I'm still learning. I had no idea how fooled we'd been by the marketing of large food corporations and no idea how much power those major food conglomerates have over the decisions our government makes. It's repulsive. Those big businesses are in it for money, not for our health, and they're destroying our planet in the process. "Organic", in my opinion, is a marketing buzzword, virtually meaningless. It's designed to warrant inflated prices. Don't rely on a faulty government standardization process to assure you the food you're buying is of the quality you expect. If you want to know the food you are eating is truly "good", then meet the person who grew it and learn how they did it. Find somebody you respect and trust and support them. Our family and some of our friends who share these values support Farmer Tom. Vote with your dollars. Spend them wisely. Spend them locally. read more

Incredibly impressed. We went this past weekend for apple picking and were thrilled with the abundance of fruit. All organic-- huge plus! Fantastic! Join this CSA! If you have a bad diet in this area, it is your own fault. I moved here from the East coast last year, what a difference in quality of fruit and veg. Back East, Brachs candy is considered a vegtable in the winter... The quality, variety, freshness and taste of the fruit and veg from The Live Earth farm cannot be beat! This CSA gets 6 stars on a five star scale. No excuses...they deliver all over the area! read more

We are completing our second year as members of Live Earth Farm's CSA and looking forward to the spring season. We get weekly produce and eggs that we pick up in our neighborhood near San Jose. We've been very happy with the variety, quality and condition of the vegetables and fruit that we get. I like knowing we're supporting an organic farm in Watsonville and have even taken a toddler tour of the property, as well as a u-pick strawberry day. They have an amazing database of easy recipes that highlight the vegetables you receive. Customer service is friendly and prompt and the new-this-season online store lets you purchase local speciality items including coffee, jams and more. We are happy customers and glad to know we are teaching our toddler healthy eating habits begin at home. She loves all fresh fruits and vegetables. read more

Farmer Tom and Live Earth produce excellent food, but also make a huge difference in their community. They have an apprentice program to teach aspiring farmers how to run organic sustainable farms (both from the farming and the business side of the challenging endeavor). They also run education programs and partner with several local businesses to organize activities for the community. You can go out to the farm, gather vegetables, and learn various skills such as pickling or baking bread. All that would have already gotten them 5 stars, but the eggs... OMG, the eggs. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing they are! Find them at the farmer's market, or through their CSA. read more
