We had our first dinner there on the night we moved into the new place, and we keep coming back. The food is good, very good every time we visit, but (full disclosure) we have a genuine soft spot for this one because of shared history. I travel for a living and am gone for weeks at a time, so I eat out alot and when I'm home, I prefer a home-cooked meal. My spouse, on the other hand, works from home and is always eating at home and it's not fair to insist we only eat at home when I'm back from the road. We have a traditional "stirrup cup" dinner out, usually the night before I fly out, and we often come back to Guiseppes...but since I'm leaving on a Monday we decided to make tonight our 'au revoir' dinner out. Our attractive, attentive server brought a breadbasket and took our drink orders after we were quickly seated at a booth. I had their lasagna; my spouse had their spaghetti with oil, garlic and tomatoes and we each had a side salad; a simple dish, but it hits the proverbial spot with flavor galore. I paired my entree with a house Cabernet: a dry compliment to the lasagna (my spouse prefers ice water). The lasagna is served very hot with plenty of sauce and oozing cheese: just as I like it. The spaghetti was also piping hot and the garlic aroma wafted around us like a virtual neck-scarf. Very appetizing! We had a leisurely dinner and as usual, we weren't rushed to clear the booth for the next diners, which is nice. The bill arrived and was about what I'd expect to pay: about $35 including the wine and minus the gratuity ( I tip a minimum of $5 or at least 20%) and it was well worth it. Our server, Aubrey, provided a 'to go' box for my spouse's remaining spaghetti; there's easily enough for another meal. We were bid a fond 'arrivederci' but fear not: we'll definitely be back!

I prefer a cheese ravioli to meat, so that wasn't my favorite. The fried mozzarella was very good. Fresh mozzarella and a sweet tomato marinara for dipping. The chicken Caesar was a little small. The dressing was creamy with tang and spice. Chicken was cooked well and a nice ratio to the lettuce & croutons. The pistachio gelato was AMAZING! Cool, refreshing and a perfect way to cleanse your palate after the Italian seasoning and garlic! Do not skip this! We jokingly said we'd start with dessert next time so we can try some of their other offerings! I'll definitely return.

The rest of the night was spot on. We had two servers who were quick on their toes. Paired with fair priced menu with endless bread and salad that was better than Olive Gardens. Our wait person Paige was very pleasant and prompt. And they went back to serving the bread warm and with a nice dipping olive oil. That's another plus. They have also added some nice specials and the food was all delicious and hot. Because it was a very cold evening in Michigan. So that's why I changed my review and we will be back to Lago Cucina I'm glad they are moving back in that direction. By the way they're having their Sunday brunch again but you need to check for dates and times. Thank you Lago Cucina for listening.

The calamari were strips with a light lemon sauce. Mushroom Arancini was a nice change from the usual arancini with red sauce. Truffle fries good portion, tasty but not very truffle-ly. The entree Shrimp Bucatini Primavera was the winner. Fresh with a good mix of veggies and shrimp, light sauce and great flavor. Good cocktail and wine selections. Decent ambiance for a Marina restaurant. Saw a number of tables having the Happy Hour pizzas that looked pretty good. I will return.

The server was friendly and very knowledgeable. She explained the menu thoroughly and clearly knew it well. The facility itself is clean, including the bathroom. The food was okay, nothing special. We ordered fish and steak, and while it was fine, it did not stand out. The Italian dishes ordered by other tables around us actually looked better than what we received. The music, however, was all over the place. It jumped from Adele to Lil Jon, including "Turn Down for What," which did not match the vibe or the time of day. I can see why reservations are hard to get. Seating is limited, as the restaurant is small and much of the space is dedicated to a very pretty banquet room and private dining area.
