We stopped here for a drink. The vibe was great. The music was great and the ambience was amazing. The staff was friendly and was able to sit us at the bar immediately it wasn't that many people here because it was a little early but definitely it's a night type of vibe. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

I came here with my partner hoping to have a good time and dance the night away on a Saturday. The place isn't as packed on a Saturday and we ordered the open bar for two hours since it's only $60 per person. We ordered online so it was already paid for and the woman at the front knows this. We got a few drinks and I would say that the mezcal isn't as strong- my favorite drink was the Carajillo (coffee + mezcal a must) and jungle fever tasted savory which I enjoyed!!! If you really want to get lit I would recommend the Gypsy disco 75 as this one feels like it actually contains some alcohol content! We just got some watermelon salad to pair and it was really tasty actually. It came with some tomatoes and had a good flavor! Service was fast and I don't have any complaints really. The bathroom guy will offer you party favors which I didn't take any and maybe it's because it was 7:30pm - 10 pm but not a lot of people came nor did it feel like it was a party. Their Friday night looked pretty packed but I guess we just came on the low season. The reason why I'm putting this down 1 star is mainly at the end when we were talking about the bill I wasn't sure if I was going to be charged again for the open bar but we talked to the waiter about it and it's actually just good to have some pesos on hand so you can pay the exact amount you should be paying. So I didn't have any issue since I paid in pesos but the receipt looked sort of deceiving and not sure why they would include the open bar portion on it when it's already paid for. Just a minor thing that bothered me in the night. In the end it was still quite empty by 11-12 so we headed back and probably wondered if we went somewhere else it would be more fun. The overall experience was just okay but not as fun as what the pictures would say online.

Ambiance: it's another cute place and a great picture place. they have a DJ with a small dance floor and the DJ played old music... like 80/90s music which didn't have a lot of people dancing. Kinda ruined our mood. Service: slow service. they also charge a 8% credit card usage fee. make sure to pay with cash here Food: the most overpriced place.. cocktails was not good. my fish was good but pretty sure it was undercooked. chipotle potatoes was fine but again super overpriced. I spent $110 for 1 cocktail, fish, potatoes, and tip... i tried some of my friends foods and they were all okay. nothing really stood out

So fun the vibes were so high all night and the bartender Enrique was so fun as well and made our night

This place is not worth it. So heres the good first: the decor is absolutely beautiful. It felt like you are in a gorgeous jungle and had a really fun vibe. The food was delicious, but not worth the price. We got the Black Truffle Tlayuda which was good and a lot bigger than i expected. We also got the Shirt Rub Birria Tacos and Crispy Chicken Al Recado Rojo. Both were very flavorful. We got the churros for dessert. They brought sparkers and sang for my husband's birthday which was fun. Now the bad... when we first arrived they searched our wallets for drugs. Which is fine but the kicker is that one of their workers offered me cocaine when I was on my way to the bathroom. Instantly I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable. Also this random bus boy kept pestering us to leave a Google review and kept watching us to make sure we did it. I don't mind leaving reviews but the way he asked was way too pushy. Overall, this place was not worth the discomfort I felt and the $$$$ If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion take your money somewhere else.

The meal was delicious. We had a reservation at 8pm and the show started shortly after. I could have stayed here even longer than we did it was so much fun. Saw lots of bachelorette parties and other couples around. We had an incredible time also there isn't a bad seat in the house for the show. The dancers and singers go all around in and out of the area!

TLDR; the veggies are good. Gitano is half club and half restaurant. It's really loud in there so it's hard to even hear the person sitting next to you. The front of the restaurant is where people dine, and the back is for drinks and a makeshift dance floor. We just had dinner there. We had an 8:30 resso for a bach party of 11 people. Before you enter the restaurant, they check your bag very thoroughly for drugs, but then there are people selling drugs in the all-gender bathroom. It was pretty weird/uncomfortable. Not my scene. But if you want to know about the food, well that wasn't too great either (at least the meat dishes weren't too good). We had the chef's tasting family style menu. This is what was what was on the menu for the night (9/23/22): Guacamole with crudités - this was basic but it was actually a nice and refreshing way to start the meal Black Truffle Tlayuda (chihuahua cheese, huitlacoche, epazote) - I was excited to try this because I love truffle. I'll be honest I had no clue what the last two ingredients were, and I don't think I ever tried chihuahua cheese, but I figured it's truffle and cheese! You can't go wrong. Well there was some flavor in there I didn't like. Almost tasted like a goat cheese, which I'm not a fan of Mushrooms al Ajillo (ajo, guajillo, huitlacoche) - I liked this one. It was basically mushroom tacos. Simple but flavorful Chipotle Albondigas (sirloin meatballs, queso panela, epazote) - usually you can't go wrong with meatballs but this was a little dry Shrimp skewers (chipotle aioli, avocado purée) - this one was good. They had me at chipotle aioli Whole Roasted Cauliflower (Pipian salsa, mole rosa) - this was one of my favorite dishes of the night. Could also be because it came smothered in this delicious sauce Cochinita Pibil (12 hours roasted pork, red onions, habanero) - they should have shaved off a few hours of roasting because this was dry Grilled Chicken al Pastor (pineapple, roasted tomato) - another dry piece of meat. The flavor was nice though Chipotle Potatoes (rosemary, chipotle mayo) - can you really mess this one up? Grilled Asparagus (maldon salt balsamic reduction, parmesan) - forgot to snap a pic but pretty standard. I also don't love asparagus though Dessert was churros and a guava cheesecake. I liked the churros but didn't care for the cheesecake. It reminded me of something overly sweet you'd get in a supermarket Overall, it seems they do their veggie dishes pretty well and all the meat ones are kind of dry or just so so. Would I recommend to go here just for that? No. But for the vibes? Also no.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND INSTEAD GO TO ROSA NEGRA. This place is trash. We waited an hour to be sat after booking a reservation 4 weeks in advance. The staff is incredibly rude. Drinks are grossly overpriced. The host stand was soooo unorganized. This place was so disappointing for my group of 9 girls. We ended up leaving and going to Rosa Negra instead which we were so happy about because their food and service was top notch. Shame on you Gitano. What a disappointment.

Great ambiance, feel like you are walking into the jungle. Staff were very nice and professional at your table welcoming you. Carne asada, chorizo con queso, and churros were awesome! I loved the mocktail of their house margarita. The mushroom tlayuda was a bit too truffley. Dance floor is smallish, we had table right on it so was easy to dance on chairs. Got pretty crowded otherwise on the dance floor. Great music played.

Huarache, truffle tlayuda, tuna tostada

Food sucks, service was (mostly) good, dancing was fun. We spent over $500 USD here, even though the food wasn't good, the vibe was great so we stayed to dance. Our waiters were super nice and on their game. We stayed until we gave a bartender 1000 mxn (around $50) for two drinks (bill was 520 mxn) and he didn't return our change and when we asked for it he said we didn't give him 1000 pesos and wouldn't return our change. I would go for the party but try to avoid food and drinks as much as possible.

Save yourself the trouble. Don't go. The service was awful, not one food dish was good and so over priced.

Make sure to have a reservation. The food was great and the atmosphere was even better. Live band and then a DJ for music.

This was by far one of the most delicious meals I've experienced in a long time…read more This restaurant was directly across from our resort and we decided to try it for our last meal in Tulum and we definitely saved the best for last. We did make a reservation, although the space was surprisingly empty at 7pm. We do know we came as the season is winding down, but for how good this food is, this place should always be packed. Our waitress was delightful - attentive, helped to explain every dish and the dishes all came out quickly but nothing felt rushed. The vibe is very jungle chic with open air seating, slightly covered by large leaf structures. Lots of candles and mood lighting. The menu offered quite the diverse selection of food options with a focus on traditional but elevated Mexican flavors. We started with some signature cocktails - my husband the mustachio whiskey drink and I had the wildfire. Both were perfectly mixed with great flavors. I will note the wildfire was more tart than spiced and did come with a fun flame element (sadly no pic). Also of note, the passionfruit that is used in this drink is a local fruit that is far more tart than other passionfruit you may have experienced. If you like a tart refreshing drink, this is your pick. We shared many dishes - the first was the pork rind with street corn dip. WOW. The pork rind seasoning was absolutely delicious and the serving size of street corn was epic. So rich, so delicious. We also shared the fried avocado - truly, the local avocados are heaven sent and the pumpkin seed purée was perfectly developed and spiced. Next up, larger dishes included the corn ravioli - this was so rich, and swimming in delicious truffle flavor. The raviolis were huge and there were 6 of them. The foam and nest elements while very pretty were also equally delicious. Not something that I often say when it comes to foam on plates. Finally, we had the shrimp main - I cannot put into words how amazing this dish was. The sauce was spicy, garlicky, and clearly developed over many hours. You could taste the time put into this. The shrimp were so tender the heads and tails just fell off. It comes with a side of bread and you will want to soak up every drop of this sauce with the toasted bread. If you are looking for elevated local flavors that have been carefully and meticulously curated then you must have a meal at WILD.

You get a tranquil atmosphere and just a few paces away from the sea and this restaurant/bar is completely open-air so you can feel the breeze and soak in the ocean view. The menu is a Mexican culinary experience elevated and with an emphasis on the grill and crafting the food by hand. There's a wide array of unique signature drinks and cocktails influenced by the tropical atmosphere and nature. We ordered the cocktails. One was a chocolate milkshake and a whirlwind of dessert flavors. Very satisfying. The is more citrus based but just as delicious and is the perfect drink on a hot day. We really enjoyed watching them make the guacamole at our table by grinding oven roasted avocados into a flavorful mashup. Then they bring out the tostadas fresh off the grill and it is heaven for guac lovers. Also, their papas are really good. Thick slices of potatoes dressed in a delicious sauce. Service at the restaurant is also excellent and they really aim to please you. Enjoyed both our meals here very much.
