Love Gitana. Very small, very cool and chilled place to go. Workers are great and it's always great vibes!

Dope little spot. Great music. Good hookah with real charcoal. A little hard to find, but worth it.

How old do you have to be to get hookah?

    21 and over

Is it 21+ for hookah? & are adults allowed to bring their own drinks?

In NY, you must be 21+ to smoke hookah. And no, unfortunately alcohol is not allowed in our establishment.

Do you rent for private events?

Yes, we do! Please call/text us at (646) 494-1776 for more info.

Do they i.d. to come in?

Yes, we do. But no worries, you only have to be 18 or older to come in! And in regards to Virginia P.’s answer, it is true we do have a small entrance, we are located in the basement. But I guarantee you it’s not as sketchy as it sounds. Once you’re…

Do they allow e-cigs or vaping?

Unfortunately we don’t, the “clouds” from vaping in addition to our hookah smoke makes the air too smokey and it can get overwhelming.

Is it usually packed on Saturdays?

Fridays and Saturdays are our more lively nights.

Is credit or debit card accepted?

    Yes, both are accepted.

18 or 21 for the hookah?

    18+

Service is fast and friendly, and the food is pretty good too. My one complaint is that it is extremely loud! My ears actually hurt after watching one of the Knicks games. I wish they would turn the volume down for the music and the broadcast. My friends who were there had to wear earplugs, which I would have used if I had them. For that reason, I'm hesitant to come back, but if that excites you, I think you would love this place.

I was killing time before a show, otherwise you'd never catch me dead in this part of town. It was busy, but service was prompt. They have basics, cosmo, martinis, margarita, aviation, jack and soda, mules, and cheap wine. Food includes salads, Rubens, chicken sandwiches, pizzas (but do you really wanna get your New York style pizza from here?). Lots of shareable apps like quesadillas, wings, shrimp, mozzarella sticks, fries, sliders, nachos. They also have burgers. Again, not fancy, not mind-blowing. But an easy place to step into a chill for a while when you have some time to kill on broadway.

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary so we got a reservation, and we had a great time. Service here was absolutely wonderful. We first got their Golden Cobra and their Shinebox. The Golden Cobra was so good. A hint of coffee, passionfruit, and bitters made the cocktail so enjoyable. Their Shinebox ended up being a lot stronger than I expected and so I kindly asked our amazing server if I could get a different one. He ended up surprising me with their Rosalie. Absolutely amazing. The bar also celebrated our anniversary with us by writing us a lovely card and giving celebratory champagne. Loved the ambiance here, stellar service, and absolutely phenomenal drinks.

Their cocktail menu reads like more of a magazine than a menu, with lots of descriptions on all the cocktails they offer. I went with the "Crowd Work" cocktail, because I love melon and am a sucker for a cocktail with egg whites. It was tasty and well made, came out looking like a work of art. Service here was a bit hard to come by, which was surprising because the bar was half empty. It felt as if they didn't really want us there, and I struggled to be able to order another cocktail (I just went with a dirty martini, which was the right amount of dirty). Death & Co was cool to experience, but I'm not sure I'd come back.

We were seated on the second floor which offered a great view of the layout of the place. Karizma is dimly lit and the lounge seats and tables are cozy. We ordered a hookah with a juice infused base, pineapple top and really fun name. The attendants kept the coals burning. Tequila shots, great hookah and an incredible music mix of Afrobeats, Hip Hop, Dancehall and R&B made for a great night out. Cute spot for a date night or a night out with friends. Karizma will see me again.

We were seated on the upper level which looks really nice by the middle tables sharing the space with other people. I noticed they had a booth available and asked our server if it was possible to switch which she was nice enough to agree and helped us moved. Food and drinks were great. Hookah was good and I loved that it's kept being refill without being asked! Since they weren't super busy and had mostly large groups coming in, we were enjoying ourselves relaxing. This changed when I believe our server left or changed shift. There was this black girl who kept going around and kept looking at our booth clearly wanting us to leave. She ruined it for us. I understand if they need the booth but didn't seem like it so found it very annoying her behavior, forcing us to leave. The first girls were super friendly and amazing but not her.
