The hot chocolate was certainly worth it - it's valrohna and basically the best I've ever had that wasn't the very thick Spanish/Italian variety (twss). It was also nice and warming on a crisp day, as were the heaters and thoughtful furry chair liners and blankets in the outside seating area. I was strongly recommended the brew special but actually I think I would have preferred something like my friend had - the chorizo folded eggs i.e. with a little more kick. The brew special is a classic combo of ham, cheese and pesto which I loved years ago but now wouldn't be my first choice. Still it was well executed with beautifully cooked poached eggs on sourdough bread. Our breakfast took a long time to come but the service was otherwise notably excellent - our server was attentive, friendly and helpful consistently, meaning we had constant water top ups, updates on the food situation and were able to get the bill quickly before our parking ran out. She was great and an asset to this nice cafe.

Their menu has a lot to choose from, I've had the eggs florentine and the turkish eggs on a separate occasion. Very delicious and fresh, presumably using top quality ingredients. The atmosphere is pretty neat too, love the cabin-like feel on a cold day. I recommend for breakfast, well done Brew!

Young waitress lacked manners, just dumping food in front of me, not informing me the plate was v hot etc but the older man was very nice and helpful. Food was tasty, not what I expected as salmon and eggs where mixed and cooked together, kind of thrown on a plate. Sightly overpriced for what you get to be honest. Coming at a quieter time and getting service with a smile would probably have increased my rating

Because of an office move, I recently started exploring SW19 in search for good lunch spots. Quickly I came across Aston & Magill, a friendly and very relaxed coffee shop in Wimbledon. Unfortunately walking there takes me about 20 minutes, and in combination with somewhat slowish service, it is difficult to fit a trip down to Aston & Magill into my lunch break. However, every time I go there, it is definitely worth the effort, and who would mind to walk 40 minutes on a sunny day? The place looks beautiful and simple - it does not try to be something it is not, it's just a lovely neighbourhood coffee with high-quality food and pretty good coffee. Once I had a chicken and bacon sandwich, that tasted as delicious as it sounds. Another time I had the pasta with tomato and bacon sauce, also a very tasty dish. When you are lucky, you can even get the single table outside in the afternoon sun. While I do not like the metal table and chair - the wooden furniture inside is much nicer - having lunch in the sun is too good to be put off by a table and a chair. Aston & Magill is definitely one of those places that I just liked as soon as I walked in. Staff are friendly and funny, and the quality of the food is great. They could be a bit quicker though. At my first visit, I've also noticed that I probably need to get used to hanging out outside of central London - while I was sitting outside, a girl, most likely an arts student, dropped some drawings on the empty chair at my table outside and asked me if I could watch her stuff for a few minutes. Later she came back, picked her drawings up and walked away. Fascinating that people in Wimbledon seem to trust complete strangers on the street - most likely a good sign that speaks for this neighbourhood.

After several Google services, I came across Dotty's website, it is well put together and really grabbed my attention Seeing Dotty's in real life was like a dream. The establishment is beautifully decorated and you can tell the owner really invested in the place and the people who work there. There is a pink bicycle parked outside, the establishment is pink, the decor is very elegant--perfect for a photo op I opt to do the afternoon tea with Prosecco added on as well as some scones to go. It was a very fair price per person. Under £80 for the entire experience for 2 people. They also sell other assorted desserts, shakes and cakes All the employees were attentive, they explained in detail what our package came with and they made sure we were happy from start to finish. EVERYTHING was delicious! From the English tea down to the Pimms jello HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10/10!!

I stumbled on the listing while doing a search for tea places before I left Washington, DC to travel to London. Unfortunately I didn't make the reservation myself (relied on family in London to make it) so we didn't get booked for the afternoon tea service as I'd hoped and just had a reserved table instead. Still, I indulged in some scones with cream and strawberry jam, paired with a strong cup of decaf English breakfast tea. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain the drink and pastry options to us. I hope I get a chance to visit again for the full tea service before the end of my trip!

Ever since seeing this place on the Merton Abbey Mills website, I've been desperate to go!…read more It is a cute and cosy cafe / bar, with truly lovely food. In the day it is a cafe serving waffles, crepes, sandwiches and other Belgian bits and bobs, and in the evening there are a Belgian beer selection and live jazz etc at the weekends. It has a very unique style with a certain 'wow' factor, perhaps a good place for an early date? I went with a group of four, so we got to sample a range of the Belgian waffles. Having lived in Belgium, I can say they are authentic, and clearly individually homemade as our order took some time to come out. Each waffle was great, especially the ones involving fruits as it calms down the sweetness of the sugar and chocolate! The coffees were very nice, the hot chocolate a little weak but not bad. Only drawback is the lengthy amounts of time waiting for service - it is small but busy and they didn't have many waiting staff on and only one person making food. Having said that, everyone was extremely nice and the atmosphere was pleasant and unrushed. But don't come here if you only have a short amount of time! They have free wifi so I might bring my laptop over one day and enjoy the ambiance a little longer!
