Whilst there is no onsite parking, there is a parking lot just a 5 minute walk away which is fairly cheap and definitely worth it for a trip here. There's a huge park outside and area to walk around in where the centre is, as well as plenty of eateries if you get hungry after a swim sesh! The swimming pool is fantastic. There's a diving board, slide, swing rope and a hot tub as well as plenty of floaties and balls to play with. It's super fun with family or friends and even though it can get a little crowded, it's really well managed and has loads of space. The slide only runs at certain times so do watch out for that one! The changing rooms are also really nice and clean with plenty of lockers and private spaces. They are mixed. Overall a really great place for a fun day out!

Nice community center where I come to play badminton during the weekends. It costs $4 to play from…read more3 pm to 5 pm, which is an awesome price, considering many other places charge anywhere from $6 to $8. There are 3 courts for badminton, and the same space is used for other sports. There is also a running track upstairs where you can run 19 laps, which is equivalent to 1 mile. There's also a nice swimming pool, along with an area for ping pong. I heard there is a workout room somewhere, but I have still yet to explore the rest of the facility. Just today I discovered some music rooms downstairs!!!! This community center keeps surprising me with new discoveries lol. The quality of this place is not too new, but it's not falling apart either. It is nicely maintained. The best part.... free parking lol.

There's a small but smart weight room, great pool, gym with a new floor and lots of multipurpose and studio space. For new parents, families new to the area, or anyone who wants to get or stay active, it's the perfect place. My only criticism ever was with the kids karate instructor. He seems to like to make kids cry, seems to have a chip on his shoulder and in general isn't that good at karate. That's one minus in 3 years of pluses, so whatever.

hi guys- newly retired HPODP staff here. some of the reviews do not do this pool justice, so I…read morefigured I'd share some staff-known things. - the pool is cold because it is old and does not have a heater - all the staff are friendly when approached, but please keep in mind that especially on hot and busy days we are all focused on those swimming, and making sure no one is in need of help -- if people have an RBF that doesn't mean we hate working or we are rude! - the website is not the pool staff's responsibility, trust me in the past we have constantly been trying to get the city to fix the websites - any closures are for health and safety related reasons, not because we don't want to work - believe it or not we actually love having the slide open, when we close it its usually due to understaffing/heat-related things/our protocols - the city has rules for the staff as well, especially in heat waves Believe me, we WANT to be there it was a great summer job for me and if I wasn't in an internship I would return!

They run the pool in 45 minute cycles. 45 minute swims and then 45 minute cleans. Minimal changing rooms and bathrooms available (though there are still some) and no water slide. The pool capacity has been lowered to 100 so it's very easy to stay away from people. My four-and-a-half year old can't wait to return!

It basically has 3 different pools, one for diving, one kiddy pool, and one pool for adults over 18, if your under age they make you do this test so they know that you can swim. But if you look older then your age then they probably won't even ask you. It has clean showers, and clean enough washrooms. I can't wait to come back here, I'll be back soon before the summer's over.

As of July 2011…read more.. Alexandra Park pool water temp is COLD. I was told by a lifeguard that the pool is leaking, and to compensate they are pumping in fresh tap water 24/7. I repeat, the water is COLD. I'm a competitive swimmer and enjoy training in cooler water (70-72F) but this is kind of ridiculous. I would say it's not more than 63F-ish. Alexandra Park pool is 50 yards long. Weird and a bit rare to see that in North America anymore. All City of Toronto outdoor pools are all free for everyone to enjoy. The showers in the men's changerooms kind of suck, the shower heads should be replaced, they kind of spit out water everywhere else than on your body. Other than that, the changerooms are clean and spacious. Not sure about the earlier poster's comments about people being young and beautiful. The patronage reflects the diversity of Toronto much like everywhere else in the city. I didn't notice any pervs or skeevs, just local residents enjoying a free city pool. I'm a swimmer and come for adult lap swimming at night, and just might have been the grape smuggler to which she makes reference. It's much easier to swim 4000 yds in a speedo as opposed to board shorts.

There are shower rooms that have showers then a dressing room (sometimes its locked sometimes its not) it just depends. but back to the topic there is a bathroom. now A QUICK WARNING. because people are going to need it. if you are a boy. who needs to use the washroom. if you go to the boys shower room and head to the bathroom. there is only one stall. now if you head to the unviersal. there is multiple. and the showers are the same only 4 for all shower rooms. there is a office for FIRST AID and more. I remember spending 13 days in four different Toronto community centres including this one from 24-Dec-2013 to 04-Jan-2014. The North American event was called the 2013 Toronto Ice Storm locally. So much of this city was impacted by the significant severe winter weather storm that included a crippling blanket of ice that forced Toronto to open up a number of community centres as emergency shelters. I even celebrated my birthday here during a midnight shift, complete with a cake that another volunteer bought and then totally surprised me with! The staff here were terrific, then and now. What great memories about what these functional community centre are when times were really tough, and when I'm only here to freely exercise my democratic right to Vote!

We discovered this pool late into the season and really enjoyed how we could swim lanes outside…read moreright along the lakeshore. The pool is huge and they allow 50 walk-ins every hour. There are a ton of lifeguards and you can get really good exercise in the 45 minutes you are allowed to swim in the pool. Unfortunately, there are no lounge chairs but if you just want to swim, this is definitely the place for you. If you want to get in, make sure you arrive 30 minutes before swim time.
