I needed to write this review because of the very misleading reviews listed. I almost didn't go one night back in Jan. but my friends who go there frequently assured me I would love it. And sure enough, I did. Casual yet contemporary, friendly yet professional, neighborhood feel with big city menu. The appetizers were good, not the norm of what you see everywhere. I am not going to go on and on and describe the food. Just saying everything was good, plated fine, portions perfect, prices great, yet not the deciding factor for me. Just a good place to go especially on a regular basis. I think there might be so misleading reviews either coming from completion, or something very unusual and rare happened. The 4 of us there in Jan. decided to share our good time with many others and put together a get together of many friends for March and made reservations that night. A great local restaurant that never disappoints. The food is always great from salads to dinners to dessert. The salads are large and filling and the pasta dishes are always delicious. The seafood is good and fresh. I am not a big bread eater but the bread is always warm and fresh when delivered. One of the best features is the BYOB. It is nice to be able to bring your own selection of beverages to enjoy with your meal. If you are looking for a good bite to eat, I suggest Giottis. read more

There were 6 in our party last night. My wife has been there a few times with her lady friends with no issues. However yesterday was different. The service was slow. We waited for at least 10 minutes after being seated to see a waitress. We had our own wine and when the waitress came she took the wine and had it uncorked. Good. Then we ordered 2 appetizers and our meal choices since it had taken so long just to see the waitress in the first place. We had no problem waiting for about 1/2 hrs waiting, and by this time I had a sneaking suspicion that we would not see our ordered appetizers. We would have asked the waitress about the appetizers however we didn't see her again until she was delivering our salads. During our wait my wife had to use the restroom and on her way back to the table she caught a glimpse of a cook and asked him about our appetizers. He said that he never received an order for them. When the waitress brought the salads we asked about the appetizers and she said that the cook didn't make them. Now, what's up with that? I told her to forget about the appetizers. In a few minutes she did arrive with one of the appetizers which we had ordered and it was excellent (zucchini parmesan) and she did say that it was complementary. My meal and my wife's were very good. Others in our group were not so please. One person order some type of chicken dinner which appeared to be in a cream sauce. Just one problem, there was NO chicken in it. We sent it back and when the waitress brought out the new plate you couldn't really tell how much chicken there was because it was swimming in the cream sauce. Another person order the salmon. She thought that it was underdone and so did other in our party who tasted it. By this time we were very frustrated and disappointed so we finished, paid the bill and left. I am more than willing to give Giotti's another chance because up to this point I've heard nothing but good things about this restaurant. I will wait to make a final decision about making a return trip, which is about 1/2 hour drive for us, or recommending it to others, until after I hear from the owners or managers. Service was great. The food was okay. Its byob (and for some reason has a bar? Umm.. why?). I had the lobster ravioli. All in all an alright place to grab basic "Ameritalian" food. Comparable to olive garden as far as the food quality is concerned. I give it three stars just because our service was very good. The food is pretty good at Giottis. I like their antipasto salad, the chicken marsala and their tortellini tri-colore pasta with the spicy marinara sauce instead of the creamy rose sauce. The staff are friendly. You can join their email list to get coupons every so often. Sometimes they mess up the order when I order takeout (ex: one time they gave me the antipasto appetizer instead of the antipasto salad and I had to drive back to have them correct it). read more

Went there on 5/13/16 with wife and son. The staff from the time we walked in the door were very cordial. The homemade bread was great, the waiter was great and hit it off with my kid. But we turned around and saw on the counter, they cook just dumped a fresh bowl of pasta onto the counter (where orders are prepared) without sanitizing it first. Stopped in for dinner the host was friendly we were seated quickly and greeted with a smiling warm welcoming server who brought fresh warm bread. Our meals were made to order. I got my first chance to try this place past Friday. As soon as I arrived, I was Greeted by the Manager who informed me that it was fairly busy and wait times would be a bit longer then usual. I informed her that was quite alright ,I had already figured Fridays and the Weekend times were the busiest times of the weeks for them. My waitress, was very polite, and well mannered and checked on me as regular as she could. I'm not an impatient person when it comes to a busy night, I can understand it takes a bit longer when you have a party of 30 role in to the restaurant. The whole customer and work environment, seemed very warm and welcoming between the staff, and the customers. It was a very fun experience. The bread served is AMAZING! It was very fresh, being a guy who loves bread, that's saying something. My house salad was also excellent, and the dressing was enough to handle the entire salad. ( some places never get that right). My main course took a bit longer to receive it, but that was due how busy it was at the time, everyone did what they could, I have no complaints on this. The food it self was very good, it was hot, and bursting with of flavor which was what i was expecting. The portion was also very large, I barely was able to finish it, but then again, I have no complaints here either a full stomach is what i was going for. "If you leave here hungry there is an issue" I personally got to meet the owner for a few minutes, a very personable,and passionate gentlemen. The owner was doing his best to make sure everyone was feeling comfortable, and from what I could tell, everyone was happy and laughing and having a great time. This was a pleasure to see first hand. It shows he really does care about the people who are wanting to partake and enjoy the meals provided here. As far as some of the negative comments I've seen, I think it really boils down to who you are dealing with at the time, as well as your own taste in food, not every place makes things exactly the same way they have their own recipes that make them unique. To me my Entree of Marsala blew the doors off of any I had tried before hand, someone else may completely disagree. But make up your own minds. They do try their best to make things great for every one there so give them a chance they do deserve. read more

I went to Giotti's for lunch recently on a Friday at 12:15pm. There was no one else in the restaurant, which worried me. The inside is quite nice and looks like a nice spot for a nice dinner out. But I won't be coming back. I ordered a Chx Ceasar Salad, and the chicken was fatty, and the salad in general was bland. read more

Thursday, early evening.............Used to come here often when it first opened but something changed and it went south fast. Decided to give it a try after several years on recommendation of a neighbor so here goes......Ordered the Lobster Ravioli with Rose sauce, $18. Very disappointing...5 round ravioli buried under a blanket of tasteless glop (read lousy jar sauce). Ravioli filled with a cream-cheese-like something, no evidence of anything recognizable or tasting like lobster. Overall you could do far better with a bag of frozen ravioli and decent sauce from the grocery store. Friend has Shrimp Scampi and Linguini, $17. Now, that actually looked good and friend said it was okay, ... adequate, ... but certainly not stellar, so Giotti's got 1 out of 2 right. Service was fine but there were only 2 other tables occupied the whole time I was there. Would really like to see this place prosper as I live fairly close by and could see myself dining here once a week or so. Nice looking and pleasant inside but they have a long way to go before I'll be back and pay these prices. The food and the service has been going downhill for some time, but tonight they hit an all time low. We arrived a few minutes after 8. At 9:08 they actually turned the lights out on us while we were still eating! If they didn't want customers an hour before closing, then they should have told us and we would have gone to one of the other 3 restaurants in the strip mall. Giotti's was a surprisingly wonderful experience. Not every strip mall has a place with such a pleasant atmosphere that you forget all the traffic, weather or craziness of the day. The restaurant is a little oasis and has very friendly and attentive service. I really enjoyed my fresh mozzarella prosciutto lunch entree and would go back for the Zucchini fries alone! It is also a nice touch that you can bring your own favorite bottle of wine. This makes it an affordable option! read more

My husband and I dined there on 12/16,hoping to get a meal in a timely fashion. Our waitress was very friendly. The food was good. However, my chicken Parmesan was so tough that I couldn't cut through it so I had to send it back to the kitchen. By the time I got a replacement dish, my husband was nearly finished with his meal. Consequently, he had to sit there waiting for me to eat my meal.The waitress was apologetic, however I was hoping that my bill would at least reflect a discount for the inconvenience. I give this a 3.75 rating. All the reviews I have just read don't seem to make much sense to me. I went today with a family member and had a good meal. I had a manicotti and my family member had the salmon salad. Both were very good. The reason this restaurants gets a 3.75, and not a 4-5, is because my pasta was slightly overcooked and the music was a bit loud. Also, the bread they give out at the beginning is amazing. Be sure to eat it before it gets too cold. If I lived in Harrisburg, I would definitely want to come back. read more

My husband and I have dined at Giotti's several times, including having a private party at the restaurant, and have never once been disappointed! It's good, fresh, Italian food. I highly recommend the Antipasti Italianate and Pollo Princepessa, and of course, the bread!! I would also recommend Giotti's for a private party; the restaurant has a terrific layout for private functions and the staff was wonderful to work with. Sorry to read about the poor reviews from years back, but in 2014 this place is incredible! The service is very good and the atmosphere is fine...it's the food that will make you return again and again! The hot bread and pepper infused oil is delicious to start the meal, and the veal marsala over gnocchi is to die for! My wife and I went to this place on a recommendation from a set of friends with our sons (2 and 4). After entering we were immediately greeted by a male host who sat us to our seats. The place is very nicely decorated, I was almost worried about having the kids with us. The service and food was excellent. I got the meat ravioli and my wife got the penne vodka. The portions were good and the food was excellent. Throughout our meal, the host walked around and was checking in on everyone. He would stop by and make our kids laugh, and made sure we were happy with our meal. I sort of figured he was the owner, but wasn't sure so I asked and he was just an all around awesome person. He even brought out some cake on the house for our kids since he saw they were eating their food. I recommend this restaurant to people with or without kids. MY FAVORITE PLACE! Excellent food and service. I always take my out of town guests here, as well as have my parties here. My Guest pay for dinner on their own and I purchase the appetizers and provide cocktails. This is a BYOB restaurant. ALL my parties have been a success at this restaurant. They assign an extra waitress for your event (I have had up to 20 people). I always tip that waitress generously. I arrive early to put my own decorations in place. Having a small party here saves the cleanup and expense of having a party at home. I highly recommend this restaurant for ANY occasion. I just booked my 65th Birthday. party for 20 on 12/24/13 today. Very much looking forward to it! they were pleasant and cheerfully accepted by reservation. The food and service here surpasses Olive Garden in price and service. The food is homemade and freshly prepared, not frozen. The salads are always chilled to perfection and never stale or warm. read more
