The adventure it was to get here was worth it. NOTE: they are located inside a restaurant and only operates on weekends. There's 2 lines. Left line for the restaurant and right line for GIOT. Drinks take a while to come out as they seemed to be very busy. I went for the Fluffy Bakery brioche donut pop up. Due to the GIOT and Fluffy Donut lines being pretty much out the door I think we waited about 15 min in each line and an addition 15 min for the drink to actually come out. They call orders out by number. It's generally a smaller establishment, tables were very tight together making it difficult to move around. It is a trendy spot on the U of M campus so probably not ideal to go during the school year or while there's events going on. I ordered the Sakura (strawberry) matcha. It was good & aesthetically pleasing. Again I'd definitely want to come back to explore more of the menu but would definitely have to wait until the summer time.

We finally have something like California & NYC! I believe they share a space with It banh appetit. I love their menu, it has a great selection of different Vietnamese iced coffees and matcha with fun cold foams. They also have croffles which is croissant dough cooked in a waffle maker. Very soft and flake, I like the texture and taste. First time we went, we ordered the salted Vietnamese iced coffees, Ube pandan latte, and a Sakura strawberry matcha. All delicious. The second time we went, we got the hot chicken maple croffle and tiramisu. The chicken and croffle was the best! If you are around the dinky town area, I recommend you stop in.
Coffee is yummy, love how often new items are added to the menu! My go-tos are tiramisu coffer, salted coffee, egg coffee and jasmine matcha! Super quick!
Fun take on matchas! As not a big matcha fan I would not normally get this but they had some unique flavors and we had to try it. We got the brown sugar one and banana pudding one and they were both fantastic, I especially enjoyed the banana pudding one! It's a shared space with Bahn Appetite so you can have it as a dessert after a good wrap, sandwich or bowl and is a good space that gives casual coffee shop vibes. The staff was great and I might be a matcha fan now!
Vietnamese Coffee is taking Minneapolis by storm (as it should be). Popped in here to meet with friends and had to order the Sakura Strawberry Matcha with strawberry cream, almond milk and matcha. This matcha was decadent without being too sweet. I loved the balance of the earthy matcha with the bright strawberry cream. They share a space with Bahn Appetit which made getting lunch immediately after a breeze. Parking was a bit tricky with some construction and without a dedicated parking lot but was walkable enough from nearby streets, if needed.
Absolutely loveee GIOT!! I've been dying to try this place forever and it didn't disappoint!! Got a strawberry Sakura matcha based on the recommendation from the cashier, and it was super tasty!! Loved the quick and cozy vibes of the shop as well, and love that they're open for fun weekend drinks!
I've been wanting to try this spot for *months* and it did NOT DISAPPOINT!! Giot is open for weekends only which makes it pretty busy. There was a line to the door when I arrived, but the service was fast! I had my order in ~10 minutes. I ordered the Ube Matcha latte, which has this delicious, thick & creamy ube foam exceeded my expectations fr! I ordered 2 croffles , matcha-strawberry and ube-coconut . They were made to order! For some reason I had assumed they would be in a pastry case, but they're served fresh & the croffle is still warm. 10/10 The space was cute and functional, and even though it was busy, I was able to get a table. Only complaint is that the music was a little loud for conversation & I wish they were open more
Fun place with great drinks and pastries. We did a combination of both and it was very good. Could be better on the inside if they had a sign showing pickup vs ordering. I walked up to the window as the line was long and asked if the line was for orders or pickups. They let me know just orders and would get my items. Very nice service just a little signage goes a long way. Not much of a sitting area ether so if your looking to get a coffee and hang out prob not the best. Overall fun spot with tasty drinks and pastries.
I need to start by saying, I wish I lived closer to this place and I wish it was open more than just the weekend. I've been hearing about Giot but kept forgetting to go since they are only open on the weekend. We finally went and I'm so happy we did. I LOVE when places have sweet corn drinks on their menu in the summer! It's something I wish everyone did. So, I ordered the sweet corn matcha without even thinking. It was so so so good. I downed it so quickly that I wish I would've gotten two lol. I loved the salty sweet cream on top and I loved that they actually infused the milk with sweet corn so it wasn't just the foam. My boyfriend said that his coffee was very balanced and had a good ube flavor. This place is inside of a banh mi shop and it sometimes seems to get extremely busy... But the staff is super friendly and honestly you get your things pretty quickly. One thing I wish they had was a menu that was out on display because as of right now, you have to scan a QR code. They have a big sectional couch you can hang out on and a decent amount of tables. Very clean and not overly loud. I really hope one day that they open a brick and mortar store of their own and I would be beyond happy if it was closer to Uptown! Maybe it a good thing it isn't because I would be getting one multiple times a week.
Cute place and taste dessert. The riffles had good flavor and decent portions. Service was friendly. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the latte for me ultimately tasted like milk. I was hoping for a better drink and had that been better I would have given a 5. But, the croffles are worth trying (and it could have just been a one off on my latte).
Ive visited GIOT a few time and the quality and the service remain outstanding. They do share a space and their hours are limited but it's still worth stopping by. I like the viet coffees and the croffles, the matcha strawberry is my favorite! The service is quick and friendly and there is a bathroom located inside the building. There is street parking available.
Had an awesome first experience at Giot! My take out order included: one strawberry matcha croffle couple with a strawberry cheesecake croffle, one tiramisu coffee and a pistachio crunch iced matcha. Also got a grilled pork banh mi. Without a doubt, the croffles are amazing! A nice (not overly sweet) treat. The drinks were so yummy and creative, only wish they didn't carry all that ice though :( The grilled beef banh mi was solid and wholesome with its tasty marinade! Overall a great experience and worth the drive for anyone who resides outside of the cities!

I love Vietnamese coffee so I was excited to see this place pop up on yelp. I came on a Sunday around 1 and it was packed. Parking is available in the back although it's not a huge parking lot and shared with others. You order at a kiosk and then pick up your order on the side. Although I had a question on my order and was able to flag someone down to ask. Only indoor seating and it's not a huge space so probably not good for groups. I got a black Vietnamese coffee with a salted cream top. They didn't have just a black coffee option on the kiosk, only the coffee with condensed milk so I had to have them make a note on my order. For the price the drink is a really great size which I appreciate in these times. The cream top is delish and I love how they have little spoons on the side so you can spoon out the cream on its own to enjoy. The coffee itself was smooth and STRONG. Even when I was trying to go to bed around 10 I felt it still. read more
The drinks here are so pretty and they have such fun flavors to try! Seems like most drinks can be made hot or iced and comes in one size. I got a Sakura strawberry matcha and tiramisu white coffee. Both drinks were not too sweet (which is the ultimate compliment for Asians, iykyk). The regular sweetness level was perfect for me and I like how you can choose your sweetness level. Both drinks are creamy and had just the right amount of ice. Even if I would have liked more strawberry flavors, I did also enjoyed the subtle floral taste in the sakura strawberry matcha. I wish I got to try the croffles, they ran out when we got there. This place is well loved for a reason! I'll have to go back to try and get a croffle. And I would get the pandan or pistachio drink next time. There is seating inside but I would say it's more of a get your drinks to go place. Check where you park, there is a parking a lot but it's shared with other businesses near by and best to follow the signal so you don't get towed. read more
Giot came up in a search for coffee when I was looking for a place before a meeting on campus. Of course, noticed right away that it's only open weekends, so decided we'll have to take an adventure over the weekend. Immediately understood why it's called cream coffee. Tried an egg Vietnamese coffee and a Tiramisu Vietnamese coffee. The cream that is used on the top is definitely a thick cream, not just a cold foam. I let mine sit a bit and it got a little thinner to mix in better. Also tried a strawberry pistachio croffle and a blueberry lemonade croffle. You get 2 to an order so pick 2 flavors regardless. The croffles were good, but a little crusty to try to cut through. Would definitely come back again for a lovely coffee treat! read more

I had no idea about Vietnamese Coffee before moving to Minneapolis, and now I simply cannot get enough! This spot is one of the best in the Cities! Although I'm bummed that they have very limited hours right now, it's worth the scarcity to enjoy these special treats! Located in a shared space with Bahn Appetit, the space itself is small, so I wouldn't plan to stay. Some competitive street parking outside makes it a better spot to walk to, if possible, or prepare to walk a bit after finding a parking spot. Staff were friendly and helpful answering the questions I had about a few menu items. The menu includes an exciting list of flavors, toppings, and coffee styles. I had the iced Tiramisu Vietnamese coffee and it was STUNNING! The coffee is strong and bold, topped with the most delicious, fluffy cream that reminded me exactly of its namesake. The serving size is big, so I appreciate the value. While I don't find myself near campus too often on the weekends, any time I am, you know I'll be waiting in line at Giot! read more

Such a tasty unique treat - a waffle made of croissant dough my fave is the strawberry cheesecake flavor! Giot is currently a weekend only coffee service located inside of Banh Appetit. They open a little later than I would expect for coffee- 10am. The menu is on a QR code inside the restaurant. Or you can look ahead online. There are only iced options on the menu. And the ice is... less than ideal. The ice overpowers the drink and the cut of the ice makes the beverage difficult to drink. You are given a large boba straw for the beverage, which also sucks up the ice chunks. They don't have a great explanation for the differences between white coffee and Vietnamese coffee on the menu. The ingredients are exactly the same, but the photos are different. I had to do a deep dive on instagram to find out the difference- Vietnamese coffee has a stronger coffee content and taste. The white coffee is more milky with less coffee. Lots of room for improvement regarding iced coffee. Croffles were a-okay. They description and photos make them look overly sweet and filling. But not too sweet when you eat it- very manageable, and just the right size. read more

Such a fun place to try! I got the tiramisu Vietnamese coffee with the tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake croffles (croissant waffle). The tiramisu coffee was very decadent, especially after stirring in the cream on top. Be prepared for a little longer wait times when you go. Today I was craving a fancy aesthetically pleasing coffee and I decided to drive into dinkytown and try out Gio Cream Coffee. And I am so glad I did!!!!! I got the pistachio cream matcha with the strawberry matcha croffle and strawberry cheesecake Croffle. First off let me say the place was packed! And I completely understand why, the drinks are so good and so picturesque, the prices are not bad for the taste and presentation of the goods, and they have the perfect options to choose from! I will absolutely go back, I am actually looking to set up a lunch date with some friends and bring them to GIOT. Give this place a try! read more
Super kind staff and they were super fast with getting through all of the orders coming in. It was quite packed in their cute cafe, but a good amount of seating. Parking can be rough since it's in the middle of Dinkytown. The Egg Vietnamese Coffee was amazing, nice thick creamy and not too overly sweet. The Ube Matcha was also nice and creamy and not too sweet. My favorite part was the matcha strawberry croffle, not too sweet and the texture was well done. GIOT has the best croffles and drinks. I ordered the ube phin-filtered coffee ($6.50) and the tiramisu and strawberry matcha croffle (1 for $8 or 2 for $15). They have a variety of croffle flavors including biscoff and cream, strawberry cheese cake and ube coconut just to name a few. There's lots of seating in the cafe but it can get really packed since they are only open on saturday and sunday. We had to wait ~15 minutes in line and another ~10 minutes for the food/drink. They are finally here inside Bahn Appetit in dinky town area. Super tasty croffles (ordered 1 each from the menu) and had 4 different variety of Vietnamese coffees. I think by far this is best so far in the TC. Also Bahn Appetit has one of the best Bahn mi in town. So, you come and enjoy your meal as well read more
Super-premium Vietnamese coffee concoctions and croffles (croissant waffles) galore! They are inside the Banh Appetit store, serving from the same counter on Saturdays and Sundays. I got the crème brûlée white coffee, which has layers of rich Vietnamese coffee, condensed milk and cocoa powder, topped with a thick dollop of silky creamy tiramisu foam and a ladyfinger on top. Waited in line for almost an hour to order a coffee only to be told they were out of both coffee types (definitely something they should have announced to the very long line of people as soon as it happened rather than letting us wait our turn to order) I ordered a horchata, waited 10 more minutes for it. When my number was called it was so they could tell me that they actually didn't have horchata. In fact they were out of everything I wanted off the menu. I ended up with an Ube "latte" which was just iced milk and ube foam, and it wasn't even good. I ended up pouring an $8 drink down the drain because it was undrinkable. Staff were very nice but I definitely won't be going back. read more
This is located in the heart of the University of Minnesota. Parking is mainly street parking and it is only open on the weekends. The line always seems long but service is quick. I ordered the Vietnamese Egg coffee and it was the perfect amount of egg topping and the Vietnamese Coffee was the right amount of strength. When combined it was creamy and sweet. My friend who had the pistachio Vietnamese crunch coffee said the following, "it wasn't anything special, the crunch didn't add to the coffee and the pistachio wasn't really anything special so I wouldn't get it again." The croffles on the other hand were amazing. Crispy bottle and the cream on top was the perfect amount of sweetness. The fresh strawberries on top gave it the perfect tartness so I loved the balance between the two. So definitely would order it again. As far as interior. Super cute interior, some of the signage doesn't make sense to me, but overall interior was cute. I will say because of the area be prepared for lots of students because of the area. read more

GIOT is my favorite not-so-hidden gem in the middle of Dinkytown, right inside of Banh Appetit. I'm usually not a big coffee drinker but their Vietnamese coffee is out of this world! So many fun flavors, there's always something new to try every time I come back - the ube white coffee is definitely my favorite If you're hungry they have croffles (croissant-waffles) that are sweet and airy and delicious... get the tiramisu, trust me plus Banh Appetit's sandwiches and fries are some of my favorite in Minneapolis... and a cute place to boot! Love coming here whenever I'm in the area, definitely a must-try! read more

Not worth it imo. I spent $9 on the banana pudding matcha (which would have been great) except the entire cup was ice. I mean to the point where I couldn't even put the straw in. There was two drinks worth of matcha in there, not an exaggeration. I just think that if you are paying $9 I should have more than two drinks worth. read more
