The staff was polite and attentive upon drop off and pick up. The cost for the 4 items I dropped off actually ended up being fairly reasonable as well. I was just a bit concerned about that as I wasn't told upon dropping them off. I was given the option of how quickly these needed to be turned around. Overall a very good experience. Nothing to do with Herman Jackson's, but parking is always an adventure in San Marco and it would be nice if they had their own parking. It would also be nice to have an idea of what the cost was going to be before leaving the drop off but the fact that it was reasonable more than made up for that. Great place to use of you need a dry cleaner in Jacksonville. I recommend you give them a try.

Photo below shows their work with taking in a waistline and hemming up a skirt that I wore this past weekend as a bridesmaid (I am wearing a corset & skirt in the photo). They also steamed/pressed my top and skirt for free. In all, alterations cost $75 with a 1.5 or so week turn around (they could have gotten it done much sooner, but I was in no rush). In my opinion, that is an incredibly fair price for the absolutely incredible work they did! My skirt fit like a glove....better yet, it was a one and done deal. They got it perfect the first time and I have never gotten more compliments on how something has fit me. Recommend them so much so I am writing this review before I drop off items for service! I feel I was overcharged and scammed by the owner (male). On March 11, 2026, I dropped off six garments to be hemmed only (2 jumpsuits and 4 slacks). The owner asked me if I wanted the brand new garments "pressed." Before I could respond, he said "I press for you, no worries," while flailing one arm. I assumed he was gonna do it as a courtesy. He told me the items would be ready on March 30th and I would receive a phone call letting me know. No phone call was received. On April 2nd I called to inquire about my garments. I was told they were ready. Upon arrival, I was shocked (to say the least) when the owner told me my total was $197.00! For six hemmed garments. No other alterations. This man told me the hems cost $26/item, plus "pressing" costs $16.00/item. He OFFERED to press the garments. I didn't ask! After I complained, he gave me a 10% "discount." I paid $177.00 to have six items hemmed ONLY (plus the cost to press added). Three of the four pairs of slacks were TOO LONG. They were not hemmed properly, and two pair didn't even appear to have been hemmed at all. I AM UPSET, to say the least. My husband returned this morning, April 3rd, to confront him about the exorbitant pricing and was only offered a $16.00 refund for "pressing." I'm still out-of-pocket $152.00...for hemming six pants (unlined pants). I love that they have a drive-through! Charles, the owner, explained my items would be ready the following week by Wednesday due to the schedule of the seamstress. He also explained that due to Covid, both the shirts would have to be dry cleaned after the seamstress repairs were complete. Charles provided excellent customer service! Most of the time he remembers my name even though I only visit a few times a year. That's impressive! I paid the bill when I dropped off the items which cost a little more than $30. I felt this was reasonable. I was so happy to see he removed the stain from my favorite dress and it looked brand new. And I was pleased with both of my shirt repairs.
