Not only are pleasant and prompt, the quality of their work for the price is unbeatable in my opinion. I never have to worry about my clothing in their hands! Photo below shows their work with taking in a waistline and hemming up a skirt that I wore this past weekend as a bridesmaid (I am wearing a corset & skirt in the photo). They also steamed/pressed my top and skirt for free. In all, alterations cost $75 with a 1.5 or so week turn around (they could have gotten it done much sooner, but I was in no rush). In my opinion, that is an incredibly fair price for the absolutely incredible work they did! My skirt fit like a glove....better yet, it was a one and done deal. They got it perfect the first time and I have never gotten more compliments on how something has fit me. Recommend them so much so I am writing this review before I drop off items for service! Don't waste your time getting burned by other cleaners/alteration spots. Handicraft Cleaners gets it right the first time and every time!

The staff was polite and attentive upon drop off and pick up. The cost for the 4 items I dropped off actually ended up being fairly reasonable as well. I was just a bit concerned about that as I wasn't told upon dropping them off. I was given the option of how quickly these needed to be turned around. Overall a very good experience. Nothing to do with Herman Jackson's, but parking is always an adventure in San Marco and it would be nice if they had their own parking. It would also be nice to have an idea of what the cost was going to be before leaving the drop off but the fact that it was reasonable more than made up for that. They quoted me 2 days and $10, but told me it would likely be done overnight and I could come check the next day. Next day, not done- no problem, it was a maybe. Next day, still not done. They said it was still a little dirty and they wanted to wash it again. Peeved, but understandable. They said they would text me when it was ready. Text never came. I went back in the next day and it was ready. Upcharged to $17 I assume some of the pieces came off in what must have a been anything but gentle wash. Again, understandable- it's homemade and accidents happen. But instead of telling me, they attempted to fix it, and in doing so, messed up the blanket even more. Pieces were sewn back on. Poorly. Many were not placed back where they came from, and because they were sewn on with a machine, many of the crochet stitches became warped. Some spots were sewn on so poorly that the thread was actually loose. Some pieces that were originally white came back gray, and this had been washed before so I know nothing bled colors. In conclusion: they did not do as I asked, did not tell me it had been damaged, and tried to repair it in such a way that they made it worse.
