We were in Long Beach, NY for another family function and ended eating dinner here. we ordered a large pizza, half Margarita and half ricotta cheese. The pizza had 8 very large slices and enough for four of us. Everyone raved about the pizza, the crust was nice and crunchy and the pizza was very cheesy, I especially liked the Margarita side. They also had lots of additional choices, salads, pizza and pasta, soups and entrees with chicken, salmon and shrimp. All of the dishes we say being served looked fantastic. read more

I've been coming here for years. I got introduced to Gino's because of a friend who used to drive from the middle of Queens all the way to Lawrence, NY with me just so we can have Italian food. Garlic knots are delicious. Order the knots as soon as you walk in by the counter then walk to the back for tables. There is not much table service in Gino's because it is not a full scale restaurant it's just a pizzeria. I guess you just gotta roll with the punches. For me, I wish there was better table service but I'm ok with it. Because I love Gino's food. I'll deal with the spotty service for their food. I never had pizza at Gino's mainly because im lactose intolerant. Every time I've come here, I've had the entrees served with pasta. Always been delicious. You can also opt to have your entree with salad if you're watching your carbs. If I am in the neighborhood, and I want simply good Italian food, Gino's the place for me. read more

My favorite go to pizza place ! Best regular slices . Tonight was Baked Gnocchi Bolognese ( huge order for 2 of us with left overs ) Caesar wrap with grilled chicken and tortellini soup . The service was the worst I have ever received, the waiter came over once after taking our order and had to flag down the bus boy to get us water. Came in here this past Thursday again. Been here a few times since my last reviews and the pizza has been consistently good. This Thursday it was rainy outside, I forgot my umbrella, missed by bus stop, had to walk extra blocks & ducked in here. I was so glad I did. The service was good. There were a few customers in here and everyone really seem to enjoy their slices. It was a really chill atmosphere and I got to sit down, relax and really enjoy my two slices. This Gino's location is cool. I have a couple of complaints/concerns. 1. Sometimes the pizza is a little greasy 2. Sometimes the staff isn't friendly 3. The garlic knots are yummy 4. Sometimes it's a line and a wait. 5. Parking on the street is tricky you may have to walk a bit. Ps don't U turn on that street cops are watching to give you a $125 ticket. read more

After moving to the Rockaway area I needed good pizza. A few places were a hit and miss but Gin o's on Central Ave was reassuring unlike their sister shop off of Mott Ave. It was almost like night and day. The employees were friendly and offered samples prior to ordering. So far, I've tried their regular cheese slice with garlic knots, pepperoni slice, and sicilian. All were great!! Wished they delivered into the Far Rockaway area but i understand that they don't want to take business away from their sister pizzeria. If they did, they would have a 4 star rating but such is life. I'm so disappointed with this place. I made an order online at 4 and it said they received the order at 4:10 and it should be here at 5 the latest. Once it's 5:15 I call and ask when it will be here and they're confused and are rushing to put my order in because they must have forgotten and said it will be out soon. I have somewhere to be at 6 and need to leave my house at 5:30 expecting they might be a "little" late not this late. I will probably not even be able to eat what I got because of their mistake and whenever I asked when it would get there they constantly kept saying "soon" which I don't know what soon is, is it 10 minutes or 30. On February 11, 2021 I entered this establishment after ordering a Cheeseburger Deluxe. I requested that the lettuce, tomato and onion please be wrapped separately because I didn't want the bread to become soggy. Upon looking in the bag, I noticed that the burger was completely "dressed" with all the condiments, that I requested to please be wrapped separately. I asked the gentleman ( I believe his name is Sal) that took my order over the phone if he remembered that I requested that all the condiments please be wrapped on the side, I received NO RESPONSE. ( I have worked on Central Avenue in Lawrence, NY on the same block as this location for over 7 years, so I indeed have purchased food at this location as well as my coworkers who also frequent this pizza parlor over the course of many years, I say that to say that I knew exactly who placed this order. After the uncomfortability of not being answered or acknowledged by "Sal", the counter top person then sent the order back to the kitchen in which the condiments would be removed. With Covid running rampant through our communities, I was a little hesitant at first that my my meal was gonna be picked apart. So I asked "Sal" if I would be getting a brand new bun along with the condiments and he answered me yes. When the meal came from the back, I asked the counter top guy that brought it back out if the bun and condiments were fresh, he answered me "No, why would it be?" I then answered him, by letting him know that "Sal" said it would be and with that ALL hell broke loose, shockingly Sal, the one that that took my order over the phone, who told me that the order would receive new condiments, screamed and pointed at me to " just get out of his store". Embarrassed, shocked and insulted, I exited the establishment hastily. I have never been spoken with that much disregard at any establishment or eatery that I have ever dined or received take-out in. Unfortunately, I believe that the color of my skin was detrimental in how this man thought, he could have addressed me a paying customer. I believe in these trying times kindness can go such a long way. I don't believe that there was a need for any nastiness or hostility. To tell me to "turn around and get out of your establishment" was completely horrifying for me, an experience that I will never forget. In the future, I will be avoiding this eatery like the plague. A restaurant should always pride themselves on treating there customers equally and with the utmost respect, and that is not what was shown today at this eatery. In conclusion, I never received an apology either written or verbal from Gino's located in Lawrence , NY. read more

It all boils down to two words: LATE. RUDE. You have to fail exquisitely to get one star, really. And Gino's did just that. I placed an order for a business luncheon, was told the order could be delivered at the time I specified with no problem. 20 minutes past the specified time and no food. I was extremely embarrassed as this was a luncheon I was hosting for a potential client. When I called for a status update I was told pizzas were still in the oven. One hour and twenty minutes after placing the order they were still making it. And then I was scolded for calling because they got 'slammed' with other orders after they took mine. This jerk actually yelled at me for calling! The food arrived over 40 minutes later than I needed it and approaching 2 hours after I placed my order. They neglected to bring utensils (for salad), cups, napkins etc. as I requested. To complete this horrendous picture the delivery location is 6 minutes from the restaurant. Had they told they couldn't realistically make the delivery time I would've picked it up and delivered myself to save face. Granted it was a larger order but not a catering size kind of large. On a Wednesday. Early in the afternoon. Not Friday night. Anyway. There's NO excuse for yelling at a customer. Never again Gino's. read more

I've ordered from this Gino's multiple times but last weekend I had such a bad experience. My family and I wanted to place an order for delivery for one of the specials on their website. 2 extra large pies with an order of wings for $29.99. I call and was told that I need to have the coupon printed out so I said I would call back to make sure my printer is working. I get the coupon printed, call back, and speak with someone else who is very rude and she states the menu is old and the coupon is not valid. I explain I just spoke to her coworker 2 mins ago and he had me print it out. I then spoke to the manager who was not helpful or considerate at all, he also explained the website is 2 years old and the coupons are invalid yet never apologized or stated he would update the menu. My family orders delivery from here every so often; I guess you'd say we're regulars - we typically get the penne or tortellini a la vodka, garlic cheese bread, and cheese, Sicilian, or white slice pizza. Silicon pizza was good enough, but their marinara sauce doesn't taste good at all. I'm not sure because it is a Kosher thing but it tasted watered down. Their sausage roll was the worst thing I ever had in a pizza restaurant. It was some type of meat and ham smashed together with mozzarella and peppers all wrapped not puff pastry but pizza dough. Had dinner here recently. Food was ok. We were starving so we ordered a specialty everything slice and split it. I live in Long Beach and was surprised to hear people saying how they like Ginos pizza...I really think it sucks...for lack of a better term!!! I've had much better pizza in neighboring areas (pizziaolla in oceanside for example) and La Piazza, my favorite, in Plainview. As for dinner, we started with the pecan salad...it was tasty, but had too much dressing. My friend poured off prob half a cup onto a side dish. For dinner, I had the shrimp parm. Kinda hard to screw it up, and they did a fair job. I was a little ticked that i asked for it fra diavlo, as I like things spicy, and they chrged me extra! That has never happened at any other restaurant i've ever been to! I could've simply added hot pepper flakes! Anyway, overall the dinner was ok, but I would not recommned the pizza! read more

Excellent Grandma Pizza. Great sauce, thin crust. Always a quiet place to dine. What I don't like is the fact that they don't deliver to 1.9 miles away to Far Rockaway. So while the pizza is better than the average NY pizza, it's not terribly convenient. read more
